Embassy Suites by Hilton West Palm Beach Central

Spent the night here this past weekend and I was very impressed. The staff was welcoming and courteous, one of the best features was the managers reception happy hour bar side from 5~7:30 good strong drinks and the two bartenders were entertaining and polite. Our room was spacious and clean we will definitely return.

Stayed here after I left the Doubletree down the road bc the Doubletree was disgusting. The Embassy staff was friendly, knowledgeable and professional. They upgraded me to the top floor, corner suite. The suite had 3 rooms– 2 wash areas– a kitchen and large living space. Separate room for bedroom and bath. Super powerful AC unit.

Went to West Palm Beach for a business meeting. While at this hotel, members of our group had their rental cars robbed over night in the hotel parking lot. Not just one… three! Same day, someone using a screwdriver tried to enter a colleague’s room. Will never stay here again even thought it is in a convenient location. Multiple instances of criminal activity. Stay away.

I just spent the night at the Embassy Suites in West Palm Beach located across the Palm Beach International Airport. Since this was a last minute Stay-​Cation we spent just one night.
This was ALMOST a 5-​Star stay all-​around. I suppose it is technically a 4.5 star stay.
The unassuming entrance does this property no justice. Upon entering you’ll notice right away that this hotel is of a higher caliber. I understand it is just an Embassy Suites, a subsidiary of Hilton but it has been a long while since I’ve stayed at a hotel with a GRAND lobby such as this one. Its ceilings are at least 3 floors high, the room is incredibly spacious, it has a large comfortable bar near the atrium, an open restaurant and a waterfall near the front desk. My favorite part is the variety of ample seating areas throughout. There are intimate reading areas for one or two, tables of all sizes (seating 2 – 10!), hightops, sofas, benches. The effort that was put into the layout of this lobby is certainly not lost on me.
Manager’s Reception is offered on weekdays 5:30pm-7:30pm at the bar in the main lobby and serves complimentary house cocktails, house wine, draught Budweiser and Michelob, red Sangria, housemade potato chips, crudite, bar snack mix and ranch dressing. Don’t forget to bring your room key, your ID and cash to tip.
Our room (a corner suite) was great in size but it had it’s downfalls. Being on the corner our room had many windows, which I loved! The sad part was that our view was mostly of the unsightly roof on lower levels. If view is important to your stay, you should stay above the 7^th floor in this hotel. There was a kitchenette (with a microwave, mini fridge, coffeemaker and sink with a couple hightop barstools), a large round table in the dining room area, a comfortable living room, a desk area. Being a suite, it had a separate master bedroom with a separate large closet and vanity. The bathroom was of decent size. It had the curved shower curtain bar and plenty of towels which I always appreciate! The room has two flat screen TVs though not all channels are in HD. The bed was very comfortable and of course, clean.
The AC in our room was not strong enough for the square footage. I am accustomed to sleeping at 65°. This was the lowest the thermostat would go but even on HI fan it could not cool the bedroom in the least. It was about 75−80° in there throughout the night. We slept without sheets, very uncomfortable.
At around 7am our neighbor went into a giggling fit which could be heard clearly from my bed. It must be an issue with the connection of the shared windows from room to room. Between her and the heat in the room, I couldn’t go back to sleep. If I had been staying for longer than one night or if I was in NEED of a good nights sleep, these two issues would have required inmediate remedy. I didn’t sleep well or enough but the next day was going to be a leisurely day so I didn’t make a big deal of it.
We were granted a 2pm late checkout. We had planned to sleep in (much desired after a long work week) but since we had a less than comfortable night we were up around 7−8am. :(
Complimentary breakfast in the morning was very good. It is served until 10am on weekdays and 10:30am on weekedns. They were serving bacon, sausage patties, homefries, pancakes, scrambled eggs, toast, plain bagels, English muffins, mini blueberry muffins, mini danishes, cereal, yogurt, watermelon, canteloupe, oatmeal, oranges, bananas. There was also chef preparing eggs any way you like them. In the beverages area they had OJ, apple juice, cranberry juice, skim milk, whole milk, hot water (with teas), hot coffee (regular & decaf), iced coffee (regular & decaf), and a soda fountain with the usual lineup. This was the best free breakfast I’ve ever seen at any hotel.
The pool area is in serious need of some foliage to luxe it up. The pool itself is small and a little ugly but with some greenery on that big bare concrete wall behind it I’m sure it’ll look better. I like the contemporary furniture outside. Again, with seating options including lounge chaises and swivel chairs with a table in between where you can set down your cocktail. There are two locker rooms nearby with showers. Very clean. Up the nearby stairs is a double tennis court and a rooftop veranda that would be great for cocktail parties because it has a nice view. Again, IF it had some plants… anything green to liven it up. It’s all concrete and ugly.
The hotel offers free in room WiFi which was fast.
It doesn’t work in the lobby though. Perhaps there is a secondary login to use it in the common areas.
There is a larger than usual Business Center in the lobby. They also have a small convenience store but with excessively high prices ($ 4 mini can of Pringles) If you really need something, there’s a BP gas station less than 500 feet away. If you’re hungry past midnight, Pizza Girls on Clematis Street is a 7 minute drive and is open until 4am.

We are here currently waiting for our room after a LONG and bumpy 2 hour flight. Check in was scheduled for 4 pm and it’s currently 4:46pm. Unacceptable and the manager doesn’t even care about this inconvenience. I hope we get free room service.

I really wanted to say I liked this place —
Nice amenities like the full breakfast and free cocktails in the evening.
However, there seemed to be one thing after another. First, we were put in the wrong, downgraded room with no offer for retribution. (I’ll note that we booked through Expedia and were told by the hotel they could not guarantee third party bookings — something we’ve never had an issue with before. Yet, they offered no lower price for the downgraded room) After persistence on our part, we were able to change rooms the second day. When it came time to do so, there were no carts available. Eventually we were able to get one, but the whole process took over an hour — not really how you want to spend your hard earned vacation. The third day, there was a rank burning smell throughout the hotel. (A little scary) It was (no better) masked with a heavy air freshener that was very irritating to breath. Then there was the homeless, crack head lady sleeping by the pool all day that the staff paid no attention to until we pointed it out after she had been passed out for several hours with little movement. Another issue the entire stay was one of the three elevators was down. Wasn’t such a big
deal until Friday and you couldn’t even catch one because they were so full. Lastly, today before check out we called for a cart (since our experience getting one before went so well) Thirty minutes later were still standing there waiting so we finally just lugged everything to the elevator ourselves, packed it full and headed down. On the way an employee got on even though we said it was full and rode to the bottom floor where we were going. Did he offer to help us with our bags? Oh no of course not! Nor did the manager standing at front as we came by multiple times lugging our belongings or the bellhop with the empty cart that went by us. We enjoyed our trip, but this is far below par for the service expected! I work in customer service and I will tell you — that’s the last thing I received!

Outstanding service. My first impression of the hotel was upon check in; Zooma and Marlie were the best! They went out of their way to make our check in smooth and quick. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Housekeeping also went out of their way to quickly get us what we needed. Breakfast good and managers reception needs more staff and better snacks
We will be back!

–free shuttle to/​from the airport/​CityPlace
–for the most part very friendly and helpful staff
–theres a very nice manager who was always helping bartenders, waiters, drivers, receptionists
Minuses:
–not really vacation oriented, but a business hotel
–only one small pool, always had to beg for towels
–understaffed restaurant and bar, theres always a wait time there
–holes in the ceiling in the lobby, looks ugly
–some front desk ppl look brand new in this job and dont know what theyre doing

This Embassy Suites is awesome! I love coming here to relax on random weekends to get away from the routine of everyday life. My favorite things about this hotel is the Crabtree & Evelyn toiletries, they are so delicious. Also, the breakfast us sublime. Unlike any other hotel. There’s nothing better than having your breakfast made when all you want to do is get away. The only thing that was disappointing was that their bathrooms could be a bit more modern.

Okay so this is my utmost honest review about this place.
First off, if you are in your 20s like my bf and I (he’s 25 and I’m 21) and enjoy nightlife plus day activities this hotel is not for you!
This hotel is more for business people and families. There’s is no nightlife around besides the few nightclubs on clematis. But those few clubs wasn’t enough for us. (Read my other reviews for the places I visited during my one week visit to west palm beach).
There’s a lot of kids running around and a lot of older people. We didn’t bump into anyone our age during our 7 day stay. I would tan by the pool and play my music softly through a mini speaker and sometimes the other people around me would give me dirty looks and suck their teeth because I was playing music by the pool… The pool is really small btw.
Don’t get my wrong though this hotel was very nice and clean but just not our cup of tea because there was nothing to do.
The complimentary breakfast and evening open bar from 530−7pm was a perk! Even though we couldn’t wake up on time for breakfast and we were always out during happy hour. But it still is a perk for people who stay in the hotel and are able to wake up early lol.
One con would be the water pressure in the shower. was like a sprinkler… No pressure at all! It would take me 20 minutes to wash the conditioner off my short hair…
We still made the best of our stay but if we were to return to west palm beach we will be staying at a hotel on delray beach instead or somewhere with more life.

The only saving grace for this property is the shuttle driver, Lisa, that collected us at the airport and provided helpful information on the area and venues. She also provided us with tickets for various venues. The front desk never acknowledged my Gold status nor my Hilton Honors Reserve Visa. Furthermore, I never received the items selected under MyWay Benefits that are accessible through my Hilton Honors profile. As for the restaurant, below standard is an understatement. We chose to watch the Super Bowl in the bar/​restaurant area and could not be more disappointed with the lack of attention and service throughout the entire game. We were enticed with food offers which never materialized despite numerous calls to management. Finally, after two hours into the game our server managed to bring out mediocre food and blamed the kitchen staff. The breakfast was lacking and tasteless with tables sticky and filthy and staff unresponsive. Finally, the much touted manager’s reception featured stale vegetables and dip and a bowl of chips that were rarely replenished. With respect to the property, we consistently had issues with WiFi, which was intermittent throughout the day. The pool area while enticing featured ragged towels and a pool that was ice cold. All in all, a very disappointing experience.

Really good and free breakfast. Nice and comfortable rooms. Large and has microwave and refrigerator. Pleasant staff.

I’d like to start this review by saying that the service at this hotel is 5 stars! Everyone we encountered, from the front desk to the breakfast buffet to the bar/​restaurant area was incredibly friendly and helpful.
The main lobby atrium space was beautiful, with high ceilings, lots of natural light, a nice water feature, and some tasteful Christmas decorations.
That said… this hotel is in need of some major work! Let’s ignore that the elevators weren’t really working (as there were signs, so this problem was noted by maintenance). Once we arrived in our third floor suite (which did not have a balcony… why, I do not know), we could not find a light switch to even turn on the lights. The layout of the room was so odd and awkward that once we did find lightswitches, they did not correspond to whatever «section» of the room we were in anymore.
The kitchenette had a microwave and mini fridge, but absolutely no silverware. So if you wanted to use the microwave to heat up some leftovers from dinner, I hope you brought your own knife and fork.
The dining room/​living room/​desk space had furniture that was so oversized that you could barely move around it. And if you needed the pull out couch, as we did, the living room became impossible to navigate. We needed to walk through the bathroom and bedroom to get to the other side of the living space. So odd.
Speaking of the bathroom… there were no locks on the doors. And the way the doors functioned made it impossible to open the ONE closet in the entire suite. Also, the shower/​toilet room had no fan, so the mirrors were foggy the entire time we were there.
This place has a lot of potential and a great location right by the airport, but it needs some serious upgrades.

I was blown away by my first experience. We needed a place to stay at the last minute and found them by booking a simple room for the night. We got there and they bumped us up to a king suite. I know it doesn’t happen often as it was during slow season but it was nice if them to do it anyway. Comfortable beds and pillows. The shampoo they had my girlfriend was blown away by it and not to mention the BREAKFAST. It was a nice place I will go again anytime.

My husband stays here for business, and sometimes I go along. He likes it just fine. And all in all, it’s not THAT bad really. Just a couple comments… it’s nice to have free drinks at Happy Hour from 5:30 — 7:30 pm for staying guests. Really? THAT is awesome! Plus they have the normal snacks, veggie sticks and dip, pretzels or something, but still, the free drinks are worth it. You can take your drinks out to the pool area to smoke as well if you want. The service staff is always nice and friendly, but on the slower nights it seems to reflect in the bar staff as well. But the rooms are nice, pretty quiet too because your bed is not near the hallway door. If you get a room with the «L» shape sofa, get comfy, cuz it’s just as good to fall asleep there as well.
I’d have to say my 2 biggest complaints are the bar menu (it needs to be changed or updated), the french onion soup was so bad neither my husband nor I could even take 3 sips. And the Cuban sandwich as well. Just not enough on the menu to appeal to me. I hope they update it soon. Now, for the next issue… the lobby is completely freezing. It can be 85 out side and I’m so uncomfortable trying not to shake and shiver at the lobby/​bar area that I have to get my drink and head outside. It’s so uncomfortable in there (cold wise). I guess the huge room and ceilings suck all the heat to the top. So be aware and bring a jacket to hang out in the bar area. Lol.
Now. On another side note… if you like awesome classic NY style pizza, walk yourself past the BP station (in front and to the right of the hotel) to Taste of Italy. Just walk through the parking lot, and it’s between the BP and the Quik Mart, before the Burger King. The slices are amazing! Haven’t had anything else yet, but I’m sold on the pizza. Perfect thin crust, crisp sandy bottom, perfect cheese and sauce. In my opinion anyway. Give them a try!

My stay had some very high highs and very low lows:
1) We got in an hour late, but was given an «upgraded» room that was a suite. I was always under the impression that all of the rooms were suites (hence the name) Additionally, I am a hilton honors gold member so I should always get that. When I asked about a 4 PM checkout my last day (also should be standard as a HH member, I was told 2 PM was the latest — ok. fine) Finally I was not offered my free bottles of water… I had to come down and get them — but they were complimentary.
2) The room itself was ok. We were on a high floor and it did have nice views. It wasn’t spotless, but I don’t expect that in this chain. What I do have an issue with was that the air conditioning was not consistent. In the living room, it was freezing and in the bedroom — only somewhat and not always. This is Florida, so I would expect better. I recently stayed in a Conrad in Miami and had a much better experience with the AC.
3) Ammenities were all good — Buffet, Happy Hour, Business Center and Free Wifi.
4) Staff were all friendly and helpful. Not one complaint here. Additionally, we were able to get a free shuttle to their mall area known as City Place which is good if you want to have some drinks and not worry about driving. The shuttle leaves both areas on a regular basis and to have them pick you up, all you need to do is call the hotel.
5) Bizarre experience — My girlfriend went downstairs to the main atrium to read and she turns around and there was a cop with his gun drawn. It turns out there was someone who escaped from a rehab center and took refuge in the hotel lobby. Needless to say, this was pretty scary.
Without items 2 & 5 this would have been 4 stars. The location of the hotel is decent for being central, but it is nowhere near the water which is where I will be staying the next time I am in the area.

It’s not often I can praise a 5 day stay but this hotel was awesome. Cook me breakfast every morning? Feed me at Happy Hour and buy me a drink every eve? Respond to my call promptly? Bring me room service in less than 30 minutes? Staff with friendly and knowledgeable people who obviously like their jobs? The answer is YES to all. I was impressed and hope to return to stay again soon.

This is probably the best airport hotel I’ve stayed in. But at the end of the day, it’s still an airport hotel, which keeps it from being 5-​stars.
Location: 3-​stars. It’s close to the airport. A short drive to downtown WPB. Walkable to nothing. If you want to be in the center of the action, this wouldn’t be a good choice. If you have to drive everywhere anyway, this might work OK.
Amenities: 5-​stars. They have free wi-​fi, free drinks in the bar during happy hour, and free breakfast in the morning. I took advantage of all of these. There’s also a fitness center and a business center that I didn’t use but looked promising.
Service: 3-​stars. Service was fine; nobody went above and beyond. The people who work here get the job done, for what it’s worth.
Cleanliness: 5-​stars. Absolutely no complaints in this area.
Overall, this was a pretty solid choice. My employer paid $ 104 for me to stay in a 2-​room suite, which was pretty unnecessary for the solo business traveler, but nice nonetheless. For that price, you could do a lot worse, I’m sure.
