A hometown classic. Knights is so good! The ice cream flavors are out of this world. One downside, they don’t take cards even after all these years. That’s super disappointing. But the ice cream is still delicious!

Nothing fancy but delicious! Homemade ice cream with out the Graeter’s prices. Had the banana chip and the tiramisu flavors. Both were delightful. Will definitely return when I’m in the area. This place is cash only, so come prepared.

In town for a conference and found this place on the way to the venue. Good flavor, not as creamy as some but enjoyable.

If you grew up in Westerville, Knights was an institution — open for very specific seasonal months between May and September, the day they opened was a sign that summer was around the corner, and the day they closed a sign that it was well and truly over. They’re not Jeni’s, Graeters, or any other place — they’re a simple, hard scooped ice cream shop that has fairly ‘normal’ flavors, done well, done cheaply, and served up for anyone who cares to stop in. I always love their frozen bananas(dipped in chocolate, with or without nuts), or the«Knightsticks» that are their homemade version of a Drumstick, filled with your choice of several different ice creams, but be warned — anything that isn’t scooped(Sticks, Bananas, sandwhiches) has been put together and then frozen to within an inch of its’ life before being put into the case, which means it can be almost impossible to eat until you let it warm up a bit in your hands. The chocolate mint, whitehouse, and banana chip flavors are great, but honestly I think this place is as much about the nostalgia as the product. A little slice of the 1950s that keeps on going, no matter how much the town changes around it.
