I go down to S. Calif about twice a year, and like to do my annual eye exam here because it’s close by, convenient appointments, and I trust Dr. Tran’s advice. I notice lately that Dr. Tran’s office is getting to be one busy place. This says a lot about what a good doctor he is.
This time I forgot to call in advance, and he was able to squeeze in a time for me. Thank you, thank you! I might not be as lucky next time, so I guess I have to plan ahead now.
I will still come here for my annual exam. My kiddos have their eye exams near home, but it’s great to get second opinion from Dr. Tran too.

My parents and grandparents are Dr. Tran’s patients and they love him. He is simply the best and kindest doctor ever, and they see many many different doctors. He has done different surgeries for them. They are all impressed with Dr. Tran’s surgical skills because of how fast and painless the cataract surgeries went. They are especially thrilled with their eye sights after Dr. Tran did their surgeries. It’s no surprise that I see people giving Dr. Tran and his staff many gifts whenever I bring my family to see him.
After many years of knowing Dr. Tran, I have come to realize that he is also the hardest working doctor. Not only does he treat many patients each day while running his office, he also does clinical studies (got nice payment when my father participated last time), mentors interns, and interviews Harvard college applicants! Wow, amazing!

My husband is Dr Tran’s patient for over a year and he always come back from the visit like it was his favorite experience of the day. Dr. Tran’s office staff is very kind and well trained, providing you with best possible information and service. I just love that the day before the appointment they call you to remind and confirm it, and if you for any reason need to change it, they will help you to find the most convenient time and day. I have also noticed that they always clean the equipment and care about even small details, never rush you and always make your visit very comfortable. Dr. Tran is a genuine and professional person. My husband says that he simply couldn’t find a better physician to treat his eyes. Dr. Tran has this rare ability to create an unique connection between a patient and a doctor. It is a gift to have someone that talented keeping an eye on your vision. We highly recommend his practice and we will definitely coming back.

My mother has been going to Dr. Michael Tran for over 2 years. They are extremely patient, courteous and professional. They never overbook appointments. My mom never waits more than 15 minutes.

This is the worst doctor in the world. How he became one amazes me. He is the most pretentious man I have ever met. My mother was treated here for 2 years now. And if anything, he has made it worst. He did two surgery on her eyes, in which she has gotten blurrier visions and more headaches from those visions. When told about it, he got annoyed and said its part of the process. Please, do not treat your patience’s pain as a way for you to earn money. Each eye is worth 4k, which insurance pays for. You tell me how that’s a caring doctor to prescribe surgery for both eyes that actually made it worst? Don’t tell me he has nice manners. Who the hell wouldn’t when you’re conning your patience out of 8k worth of insurance.
In addition he has wasted our time countlessly in a waiting room because he himself is an incompetent person to schedule people on time. Apparently on his time matter. There was a diabetic lady who was waiting with my mom and I a couple of months ago and the poor lady almost passed out just waiting for this bozo to come see her. OVER 2hours! (with appointment of course). Poor lady… His staff is just as rude and condescending. And yet today… Is another late day. Massive ego I tell you.
My advise to everyone out there if you’re his patient, get a second opinion on surgery. Because this man is a so call «Harvard graduate» that is simply trying to make his ends in paying off debts or living a luxurious lifestyle.

Dr Tran is hands down the best ophthalmologist there is! A very nice person and a really good eye doctor. But his people in the front desk is a different story. These people in the front desk is RUDE AS FUCK! I couldnt tell if speak english because they cant even answer a fucking question answerable with a yes or no. No communication skills. Worst costumer service ever! And can i say it again? RUDE AS FUCK!!!

Dr. Michael Tran has taken care of my family for more than a decade. First with my parents, later with us, and now he’s taking care of our kids. He is one of those rare physicians who possess both impeccable credentials and yet humble enough to have a great bed side manner. His excellent training at Harvard Medical School and UCLA Medical Center as well as years of patient care experience really shine in every encounter we he had with him. Our parents appreciate his fluency in Vietnamese and his respect for the elderly, yet our kids find him easy going, frendly, and fun to visit, even more than their pediatrician! I’m very fortunate to have a great doctor in Dr. Michael Tran. I recommend him without any reservation.

I used to get headaches for a long time after every time i drive and visited several Ophthalmologists and optometrist’s. I got at least 4 prescriptions but none of the prescriptions worked. I continued to had headaches. Emptied more than dozens of advil bottles to get relief from pro long headaches. Finally I thought of trying Dr Michael Tran and changed my insurance so I can visit him. After examining my eyes he mentioned I have to wear constant glasses since I have nearsightedness (Myopia). I straight away new once I heard that from him he did the correct diagnosis not because I’m a genius but that condition Myopia is opposite of what previous eye doctors mentioned to me and i yet continued to get headaches.(previous eye doctors which I dont mention their names for privacy told me I have Farsightedness/​Hyperopia.­) I got my glasses from costco after getting the prescription from Dr Tran.
Now for the last 8 months I have been enjoying my life! no more headaches and advils. I never went to an eye doctor that has examined my eyes so accurately.
I am truly grateful to Dr Tran for his superior patient care and knowledge, that saved me from headaches and side effects of not correcting my vision on time.
He also treated my late mother in two very successful cataract surgeries while he was practicing in his previous office. I have been appreciating him for his tender loving care for elderly people like mother who was in her her late 70’s that time.
In another note the doctors office is very professionally well managed by good staff, Very clean facility. They never try to be pushy selling their own glass frames which i have experienced in other places,
For me this is the Best Eye doctor I found, If you have any doubts of your current prescriptive glasses give a try to this office, I assure you, you will be a happy camper too like me!

Dr. Tran takes his practice seriously. You can see in the way he treats both his patients and staff members. Combining years of knowledge at top institutions, both medical and academic, he gives only the best advice and care to everyone who visits the office. I’ve ordered many pairs of glasses from them and have only been treated with kindness. He is understanding of my needs and I’ve never doubted his professionalism. Making appointments is easy and I’ve always felt like family when visiting.
On the interpersonal side, he acts as a big brother to the staff, many of whom are pre-​med, providing them with valuable industry experience. They are trained to show only courtesy and compassion which reflects the ambiance of the entire office.
no doubt, I’ll be a patient for life.

My mother was a patient of his for over two years. She went to see him for some due irritations, redness, itchiness, watery eyes. He kept prescribing her numerous meds that did not improve her conditions. At one point her eyes were getting worse! My mom asked him why was she bot getting better and he simply replied that my mom must have severe allergic reactions to all the meds he gave her. I finally got fed up and found another doctor for her. Her eyes improved within one day of seeing the new doctor. When my mom called Dr. Tran’s office to cancel her appointment, the young man at the front office asked her why. My mom declined to say the reason and this jerk told my mom she has glaucoma and she should not stop seeing Dr. Tran. It’s disheartening and shameful to see a professional takes advantage of the elderly and his own people! Shame on you and your staff!

I’m in my mid-​twenties and know that I don’t have to go to Dr. Tran for my regular eye exam since he’s more of a specialist but I really like him and his office. Saturday appointments are available and they’re not terribly hard to make. His front office staff are all very nice and sweet. The office is clean and tidy and relatively new and modern.
I keep coming back year after year because of Dr. Tran’s bedside manners. He’s extremely thorough and pays close attention to detail. He’s friendly and polite and very nice.

I’ve been going to Dr. Tran’s office for glaucoma checks for 2 years now and he has been great every time. I am not so impressed with his administrative staff, however, seeing as they cannot accomplish something as simple as insurance verification for such a case as mine. I am 26, and I’m still covered under my parent’s insurance. I have medical insurance covered under my own employer, but my parents have a better plan so I tend to use theirs very often. When the plan expired and had to be renewed, they had to recheck the policy number and it seems that was enough to confuse the crap out of the entire office.
While I’m sure the intelligence of the staff members (a lot of them seem to be «pre-​med» students younger than me) are adequate enough to get simple monotonous tasks done correctly, they can’t seem to adjust to anything different than a routine checkup. I’ve rescheduled my annual checkup twice now and when I called to make sure my insurance has been verified, they sounded just as confused as ever and it seems like no one bothered to check my insurance after the first fiasco. I might have to reschedule again because I am not willing to overpay for a routine visit just because the administrative assistants can’t seem to get their patient files organized enough to do a simple insurance verification.
Again, Dr. Tran is a wonderful and caring ophthalmologist, but if I can’t get past his confused staff of teenagers and college students to see him, then I might be better off switching to another provider.

My eyesight has been blurry for the past few years. Dr. Tran performed cataract surgery on both of my eyes. The operation was quick and simple. Now I can see everything clearly without glasses, like giving new meaning to my active sporting life. Dr. Tran is extremely careful with his examinations and procedures. His staffs are friendly and great too. I highly recommend him!

I’ve been wearing glasses for over ten years and I have never been perscribed with the proper prescription until I came here. Optometrists typically prescribe me with a prescription that makes me either really dizzy or give me massive headaches. With Dr. Tran, I never went to an eye doctor that has examined my eyes so accurately! Highly recommend this place!
