Went here for dinner on a quiet day after Christmas, came based on a recommendation of someone we know. Here’s what we got: — Sweet and sour hot pot fish: I think it was tilapia or catfish, tastes a bit earthy. Extremely bony fish, BECAREFUL! Loved the soup, just the right amount of sourness. — Hu tieu nam vang. Comes with rice noodle, loved the quail egg, it wasn’t chewy but a bit soft in the center and I also appreciated the fresh sweet shrimp. Broth tastes light. Plenty of parking on the street or complex, service was pretty good. Pay for you meal at the counter.

Had the bun thit nuong & the tofu dessert andboth were delicious. Granted, it did take a bit for everything to come out, but i think it may just be one vook and one server. Service was good and food was great… AND there was no line. Will be back again for sure!

This place service was horrible ! They charged me $ 2 for containers when I ordered togo, and didn’t tell me until I realized it. It’s not worth at all. The food was okay, but not that great.

This place is good and fuck all of these picky reviews. This is a Vietnamese restaurant what do you expect? I’d eat at this place everyday with my wife, because I love her.

My mom doesn’t get the idea of advertising and endorsements. Just because someone says it’s good on the Vietnamese radio doesn’t make it a good place in reality. LOL, the other place she suggested we found out was closed and it was fairly new. Not a good sign to trust Viet radio or television. I didn’t like my experience here. We asked for utensils like 3 – 4 times. There was only 6 of us. They like brought one out at a time practically. I don’t know why they didn’t bring at least six at the beginning. And why couldn’t they just have a utensil holder on the table? Or set up each table before people sit down. So many ways to avoid this issue. They also ran out of a lot of things on the menu. We were there around noon. SERIOUSLY terrible organization. The food was whatevers.

If I could give 0 star I would. Service was bad, waited half an hour and still didn’t get my togo order. After that went to the front desk to ask what’s the hold up. And it turn out they forgot about my order. So waited another 30mins or so to get my food. I ordered the Lau Cua Dong. The food was so bland that i have to add tons more of fish sauce. In addition, the seafood and veggies wasn’t that fresh. Worst Lau I ever had. Never go back here again.

Good food, good service!!! We are very impressed with how fresh and not as salty as many restaurants the food is here. Its taste is fine, its scent smells good, its look is very presentable. We love the Can Long hot pot. Unlike other places, every dish here is equally delicious not just one good one. In addition, prices are reasonable, waiters are friendly and helpful. Keep up the good work guys! We will definitely go back.

I typically go here only for Hu Tieu Nam Vang with clear noodles. Consistent quality and taste. One of the better spots for Hu Tieu Nam Vang in OC

Ordered a large hot pot and was a little disappointed. Though the soup was good, the ingredients were a bit scarce. It felt it was only enough for one person. Calamari was okay, nothing special. Mussels with green onions lacked flavor. Shrimp with crispy rice was actually better than I expected. Tasted alot like braised catfish(ca kho).

I have never ever been to a place like this. Thanks for Nguyen Anh Quan, I know what is the worst customer service now. Waiters & waitress will just stare at you, they will not even say hi. Again, bad customer service, they don’t deserve a tip but I leave them a dollar anyways. They’re so cheap. For the foods: not even«good.» The only reason I was here because my friend want to try it out. Someone can have my duchess title bc honestly fuck this place. I’d rather go somewhere else.

I like the fact that their Hu Tieu Nam Vang is consistently good. Love the abundance of the crumbled minced pork mixed with chopped Chinese celery & fried garlic. Their sliced pork is cooked well, meaning that there is no pork smell. Meal was polished off with a complimentary desert with a nice surprise at the bottom. There’s also free wifi. The 2 young staff were very hard working and very«de thuong» thank you hai em!

I dont know why all these complaints. Its better than going to shabu shabu which is more expensive & not so many flavor broths.

I am reviewing the hot pot only. Apparently, everything else here sucks. Came in around 8pm on a Friday night and the service wasn’t bad at all. My family ordered the seafood hot pot and the young guys who served us was pretty friendly and probably didn’t know much English. It wasn’t that long of a wait until we got our food. At first, I thought the plate of seafood and the pot of soup wouldn’t be enough for is four but it was actually just right! The soup was flavorful and savory. The seafood was fresh as well. There were quail eggs, shrimp, catfish, fish cake balls, clams, squid, and a bunch of different vegetables. We ate this all with vermicelli and it was very satisfying. I should also mention that the cost for the four of us was under $ 50! And we were all satisfied and stuffed at the end. They open pretty late, too. I would definitely come here on a drunken night haha.

I decided to give this place a chance. I was already disappointed by their staff from a previous experience, but I can really call it an experience since my party of 5 never got seated. I came back here with my grandma. We were seated quite fast this time around since there was only 2 of us. First off, this place is really trying to utilize every inch of real estate. Barely enough room to squeeze by(a bit hazardous since there’s hot soup). So grandma had made a decision on the Singapore hotpot since the waitress said it was spicy. We had also ordered a dish togo as well. After a few moments, our pot was brought out. Small plate of noodles and seafood all around the hot pot. Looked good, but I felt it was a little overpriced for the portion. Tofu looked like it came from those packages I had found at the supermarket. A few clams and shrimps; also some squid and fillet of fish. The broth, not exactly as I had expected it to be. Flavor was a little light and not as spicy. Since the flavor is light, the seafood was flavorless. Then it got even lighter with the noodles. We were offered egg noodles but stuck with the traditional rice noodles. Paying; at the booth, I was rang up with an outrageous amount. I had asked her to ring it up again; to my surprise, almost a $ 20 difference. Another issue; they could not charge my debit card. Pulled out every last dollar in my wallet; almost felt embarrassed to ask my grandma for some cash to just get this over with. Would I come back? Sadly, I’m afraid not.

This place is such a hidden gem located on bolsa next the T&k super market! Love this place. Was here two days in a row. think I found an addiction. They’re famous for the lau, aka hot pot! 20 bucks for a medium and it feeds three people! I had their house special which is spicy and sour. Yummmm. The way they prepare it is family style, and you cook your meat slowly in the savory broth. delicious, served with noodles of course! Service was quick and efficient. Super small, so usually a wait cause of the crowd, but its 20 minutes max or so. Oh! and they play american music? Weird. cause its on bolsa. but i enjoyed it. Def will be back. thank you for an amazing dinner!

Every dining experience we’ve had here has been juuuuuust great. We’ll eat here every two months. C’mon it’s Bolsa, people. The food has been consistently pretty good here when we order the seafood special, «Hai Vi Lau» — usually contains any combination of clams, mussels, shrimp, squid, fish, quail eggs, and variety of veggies like kho qua & bat ha. Mind you, this is the ONLY thing we will order so it’s like this — Life’s a risk. Why would you order something else if they’re new rather than a specialty?!? Check out our pics. One’s from April and other from last month of this year. Broth has been a spicy, sweet & sour version of Vietnamese canh chua. The place hires a lot of young people who are kinda fobby and underpaid or both so with that being said, we really don’t go here for the service LOL Hopefully someone read this and they’ll take feedback into account but if they’re true Viets they won’t GAF.
