Love this bar. 14 beer taps in a variety of styles, a huge selection of liquor, great food, complimentary plantain chips. Service is excellent! Tons of TVs with sports on. We literally don’t drink any other place in Wheaton, but have become regulars because this place is awesome. It’s in an unassuming strip mall, so you might drive past it 500 times a year. But do yourself a favor and stop in!

Stumbled into Unplugged as we were heading to our favorite place next door, wondering if there were any new places to go. Glad we stopped by. The food was good considering it’s a sports bar. We had the chicken parm and the Alfredo. The noodles were overcooked but it didn’t destroy the meal by any means. The actual meal overall was really good. They have specials at night on alcohol and offer tango, salsa and bachata lessons for free. Maria the bartender is an absolute delight as well. She made us feel very welcome. If you’re looking for a new watering hole with great customer service, good food and a great night out, give this place a shout. Well worth your time.

Beautiful bar with standard bar food on the menu. Although there were a few Bolivian dishes Sil Pancho and tucumanas I wasn’t impressed. To me it was just standard offerings of a spanish restaurant. The wednesday night we did arrive our server was friendly and attentive. It was $ 5 mojito night and Salsa night. The group lesson for beginners Salsa was good although we left to get a better meal we came back around 11 for drinks and a bit of enjoyable dancing.

We went to Unplugged after searching on Unilocal for«wings.» The location is convenient, directly on Georgia and less than a block from University. You can also enter from the patio, which is on Elkins just off University. Inside, the bar looks clean and new, with plenty of TV’s and glowing, color-changing lights under the bar. The service was excellent. We had Maria, who was a bit hard to hear behind the loud music(which was millenial music – pop, rock, and rap from the mid-90’s up to about 2007). She brought us complimentary plantain chips which came with a delicious orange salsa. We ordered the wings, and were please to discover that we could mix and match the types. Of the four types of wings, we enjoyed 3. The dry, unsauced wings were delicously salty and smoky, the buffalo surprisingly well balanced, and the spicy sweet were, well, spicy and sweet. The barbecue wings had a too strong barbecue-sauce flavor, as if they’d been dredged in loads of the sauce after being cooked. If you like fresh barbecue sauce, you will enjoy this type, but my wife and I found it too strong. This is a fun bar, and I enjoyed the food we had. We were looking for somewhere put-together to hang out in Wheaton, and we found it.

Unplugged is a great find for Wheaton! Excellent food. The nachos are HUGE.(If you split an order you probably won’t want an entrée — just more beer.). We’ve been here twice so far– enough to know this will be our«go-to» place in Wheaton when we don’t want to cook. Our entrees this time were perfectly prepared– carne assada for my husband and a shredded Cuban flank steak for me. Our waitress, Maria, patiently explained the menu to me and, on learning that I am gluten intolerant, made sure that everything I ordered was something I could tolerate. So-o-o, great food, excellent service and such an enjoyable atmosphere. Welcome to Wheaton, Unplugged.

We had Bolivian tropical burger, buffalo wings, nachos. Burger was very flavorful, wings were tasty, a little on a hotter side but very good not overfried; nachos were ok. We are definitely coming back.

Finally got to check this place out after driving past it so many times. Located right off Georgia Ave, it’s pretty accessible, just a few blocks from the metro. I was looking for a good spot to catch the NFL playoffs and they had it on almost all the TVs around the bar area. The first thing I noticed was mixed crowd, pretty cool diverse mix with young and old. The music reflected it, bachata, new school hip-hop, and electro. Juan didn’t waste a second to greet us and help us find a good seat. I knew this was Kantuta’s sister restaurant so I had to try the silpancho, which was excellent. Very good sized portion. My mother ordered the carne asada which was a little saltier than she would have liked it. Overall the food was pretty good. The other bartender, Maria, was extremely nice and pleasant. She told us about their Wednesday salsa nights and other events they have throughout the week. Definitely will be back.

The great food of kantutas combined with a sports bar?! What’s not to love? I started with the tucumanas(one beef and one chicken). Both were delicious. These are some of my favorite empanadas anywhere around. Then I split the silpancho– all the bit as good as at kantutua’s if you ask me. It sucks that they don’t offer the small size here though. Ask for the llajwa. Goes amazing on everything! Maria was our server. She’s fun and friendly. Gave us the rundown on the new spot and what they’re all about. There are a bunch of tvs to watch sports on and their touch tunes has a lot of updated songs. I heard for xmas they’ll have salsa dancing. So come in and join!

Visited this place 05DEC2015 place because I really wanted some bolivian food and their across the street sister resteraunt kantutas was closed. I ordered my favorite dishes… Carne asada, whatever meat dish was below that on the menu(i didnt eat) and bolivian style empanadas. Admittedly the first thing I could do was compare their food against their sister resteraunt kantutas. The carne asada was very salty and tastey. But the amount of salt in my steak and rice was too much. Plus if i recall my portion sizes were larger at kantutas. The bolivian style empanadas were tastey. I don’t know why but the sauce they served with it taste different then the sauce at kantutas. They don’t have horchatta to wash any of this down with :( Then(my favorite part)… for desert we got banana flambé. There was no fire served with my banana. We received one banana that was sliced three ways long ways. Covered in caramel. Sounds great right? Except the icecream looked like it was scooped with a spoon and was very little. The banana was said to be marinated in something… whatever it was marinated in, left a lingering citrus salty after taste. We couldn’t tell if it was lime… but we know it definetly wasn’t salted caramel. The presentation also didn’t help this dish. Such a small dessert served on a huge plate which made the presentation of the dessert very small. So really if kantutas is closed and you need your bolivian fix… this place will fall very short. Two stars… great atmosphere, friendly service… but food needs some work(my opinion).

The flattest beer in Wheaton They have flying dog pale ale and raging bitch, I asked for a Pale ale, he filled a glass with half foam and let it settle then filled it agian. I like the places that turn on the tap until the beer comes out without foam then fills the glass with all beer. This is not one of those places.

ISO su espiritu Maybe can be many different thongs, a sports bar in the evening y donde bailar at night. The menu is a mix of american, latin american, and italian. Trying to appeal to all? The italian special was a miz– great mushrooms and spinch stuffed chicken. The pasta side was nothing I could not prepare at home. The carne asada was good, standard Service was great, very attentive host/server. Outgoing. The drinks are awesome, if expensive, the paloma rosada is amazing! After 9 pm los sabados, es para bailar, una mezcla de musica. Por fin, un lugar culto para bailar en Wheaton! Olay, just got the bill. Wow, expensive! And they served a drink I never asked for– just saw that it was down, asked what kind of drink it was, brought me another. I did not ask for this drink! Thought it was on the house, but they put it on the bill! I was gonna give more stars but I feel cheated now. About 9 pm, changed to a dance palcd

I love to try new places so my friends and I decide to go out for lunch to this new place where I had have hear to much good things about it. Place its new open everything looks so clean and amazing. As sooner you open to the restaurant you can see everything it’s the way suppose to be. Anyways no more details you can find it out for yourself :) So we went and we were like 12 in total 5 kids and rest adults. I personally had a carne Asada that was so good and so tender. The waiter was so nice and he was at the table making sure that everything was ok. Food was amazing and the stuff so friendly. Also my friend got a martini that was so delicious that next time I’m so having one, ASK for Juan if you go to the bar, he is a very cool guy. Everyone should go and check it out :) happy hour specials are crazy good.!! I had a blast at this place.

This place is new and they aren’t making a good first impression. The manager with black spiked hair is a total a-hole. He’s rude, inconsiderate and ignores the customers. The bathrooms were atrocious and the food seems rushed. I mean we’ve all had bar food that was either decent, good or not great, but it’s almost like this place isn’t even trying. Just because you’re new doesn’t mean you’re automatically going to get customers. You have to earn it. Shi**y attitudes won’t help you achieve this. Don’t waste your time and money here.

Security was an ass hole after a couple hours. We were in a group but we were in the best behavior. We legit went to try and help promote the place but everything went the opposite direction because one of the employees thought he could say whatever he wanted to customers(me). I had high expectations for this place because every other location near by attracts bad customers.

This is a great new bar in the Wheaton area. The bar specials were great, $ 3 domestic and $ 4 import, the deep fried chicken wings were amazing. They also have an excellent array of burger choices that were different than most other restaurants in the area. Everything in the bar is brand new and although there’s not much parking in the front there’s a parking lot in the back. I highly recommend going to unplug the Sports Bar and Grill in Wheaton.
