SHAMEONYOU! My mother is disabled, and a nurse, before becoming disabled. She was given no written policy when you picked up her furniture, which was sold after 60 days, which according to their policy they keep all proceeds after 60 days! When she called after not hearing from them, nor once they sold her furniture, they informed her of this clause.

I love going to Wise Penny… Have been going here for many years! All staff is volunteer and all proceeds goes to charity! For the person who took pictures and talked bad about Wise Penny, why don’t you volunteer and help out instead of being such a negative person? They can always use help and you would be helping to support Ronald McDonald House in Wheaten! As my mother always said if you cant say something nice… Keep it to yourself:)

This shop looked really pricey to me so I avoided it for a while. Finally went in one day and came out with several clothing items. The selection isn’t extensive but is very browsable and even purchasable. Warning though: do not go in near closing time. The ladies who were there when we went in near closing were a bit gruff. I get it but still.

Whenever I’m in downtown Wheaton I like to stop here. I don’t always find something, but it’s still fun to browse. Their clothing department isn’t very impressive but they have a great selection of kitchen items, books, and furniture. Great customer service too, the ladies always want to chat. They offer a 10% discount to Wheaton college students.

Used to truly enjoy walking around in here. Unfortunately, I saw on the front door this weekend that they discriminate against my kind, and I wasn’t allowed to enter. Unfortunately I won’t be able to go back.

I really like just walking around downtown Wheaton, and I always hit up this shop. They always have rotating furniture, but i have to get in sync with when they get it in. I always end up falling in love with something that is sold!

I used to go here a bunch in high school. This place is awesome. If you love the thrift shops that have a lot of space and items that are as organized as possible, then you will love this place. I haven’t been back in about four years, so I’ll admit, this review isn’t too up-to-date, but I’m thinking about returning somewhat soon to see how it’s holding up.

One of the best services is their willingness to come and pick up items. I replaced a sofa and they could not have been more accommodating! Not only did they pick it up to meet my schedule but they also carted off many other items that I had planned on taking to the shop. The staff were so helpful and friendly that I have made the Wise Penny my resale store of choice. I couldn’t have asked for more!

Something is happening to all the spoons at my house, they are probably going to the same place as the missing socks! So I ventured in here to pick up a few. As a buyer, I’ve only found some extra spoons here. They do have LOTS of housewares, the clothing is kind of scarce as well as the book and toy selection. As a seller, I brought some clothes here on consignment many years ago. I had a very nice black velvet dress with lace on it. I wore it pre-kids and knew there was no way my hips were going back to that size. It was expensive and with a new baby I was hoping to recoup some money. My dress was placed on a rack and as soon as my time expired and they would be receiving 100% of the sale, it was placed on display in the window. That bothered me. My oldest kid is 16 and I still remember that. Are the same people working there? I don’t know. Do they take stuff on consignment still? I don’t know. But I had to write about that. This is on Main Street in downtown Wheaton and the parking is scarce for the suburbs. You will need to cruise around to find a spot, but that kind of fits in with the concept of resale shopping doesn’t it? After all, you have to go through a lot of stuff before you find what you want!

Great values here. We started going there with discards then buying. All of the charity shops are for a great cause and I feel good giving the goods and spending money for odds and ends. Got tables, bookcases, desk and more tops than I need for $ 2 and $ 3. I don’t try tops on before buying. If I decide later they are not want I just donate them back. 75% of the time I find something, but if not I find nothing then oh well. A must stop while in Wheaton.

One of my favorite thrift shops. Everyone is super nice, and they have great prices on things like full sets of china, furniture, curtains and other misc housewares. They have a small selection of clothes as well.

I don”t get the hostile reviews – I got an AWESOME retro dining set for new house here-for $ 90.00…4 chairs included. I also found an Old Navy swimsuit for $ 4.00 with the trags on it, and a bunch of Gap and Limited Too clothes for my kid at great prices. It isn’t a super large selection, I will give it that, but it’s hit or miss, like any resale store. By the way-my family is dying to get a dining set like this and I get TONS of compliments on it ALLTHETIME. They cannot believe the great price I paid for it and where I got it at. Happy!”
