Nit Free Noggins

I recently took my daughter to this place and they do a decent job but charge way to much. I hope we don’t have to do this again. But if we do, I’ll definitely look elsewhere. way too expensive for the work they do.

Finding lice causes an extreme amount of anxiety that Nit Free Noggins helped resolve. In the last year my child has contracted lice twice from middle school and unfortunately passed it on to my younger daughter and myself. This service is wonderful and I highly recommend it. They confirm there is lice by combing through your hair, then they use a relaxing heat treatment to kill live bugs AND nits (which OTC treatments do NOT do), next they comb through your hair with a conditioner/​water solution to make it easy to pull out all dead bugs/​nits, lastly they put an oil solution in your hair and send you home. They explain how the combing can miss dead nits and recommend combing through the hair again in the days to come. I purchased the comb and special scented shampoo and conditioner that I would also recommend. Their comb is the best I purchased and the products provide peace of mind that I am doing what I can to «prevent» additional infestations. While you wait during the treatment they provide cleaner, paper towels, and a vacuum for your car. The only downfall was that I was unable to use insurance but it was worth every penny. Cost is around $ 200 a head with discounts for multiple heads. This is a great service that solves the infestation instead of multiple treatments and chemicals. The women care about what they do and are very knowledgeable. Again, if this is a problem in your house I would highly recommend Nit Free Noggins.

I had 2 daughters with a lice problem. I started pulling the nits from daughter #1 and was overwhelmed by how many there were. After 2 hours and not much progress, I asked my husband to call a service. What a relief! The staff at Nit Free Noggins was friendly, knowledgable and effective. They gave me the products I needed to clean my car and when I came back into the shop my daughters were laughing and having a great time! All the anxiety was gone! Even better, we were nit free in an hour! Eight years ago, I worked 8 hours a day for 5 days to rid my daughter of the nits. Don’t try to do it yourself. Get help at Nit Free Noggins!

In an obvious panic I found Nit Free Noggins in Wheeling. My daughter is in 2^nd grade and has hair to her butt (she’s also super sensitive when it comes to combing her hair) I was not messing around with OTC and at home remedies. I got in within hours and the process was pain free and took less then 2 hours. Other places were charging up to 4X what I paid and said there would be multiple visits. Just this one visit and all was gone. She could have even gone back to school the same day. While I waited I was offered internet access, refreshments, tv, even a vacuum so I could go vacuum the car seat and belts along with bags to bag everything up. I could not have hoped for a better experience and outcome. Hopefully I won’t need them again but definitely recommend them to anybody that has to deal with Lice. The time and energy I saved was worth the price.

Could having lice be fun? Well, these ladies will have you rethinking the anxiety you have when your kid has lice. I took my daughter and my friend’s daughter here after both of them were sent home from school yesterday. I wanted to be sure we didn’t infect the other kids in the family and ensure that the kids were able to return to school the next day –which has never been possible when we do the pharmacy box treatment at home. Maybe it’s just something about their «chair-​side» manner. These ladies really make you feel like you’re special, but that they’ve handled this a number of times. They were very thorough and talked with me about everything they were doing. They gave me advice without being critical or judgemental. The kids LOVED their «massages» and felt like they were in a spa. Now, there is a risk that the kids had TOO much fun and wouldn’t mind getting lice again in the future, but I would rather them not feel the stigmatism that these nasty bugs usually bring with them. Yes it is costly, but being able to move on and not surrender my week to chemicals and at-​home treatments… WORTH EVERY PENNY!

After dealing with the 6^th infestation in 2 years I finally did a web search for a non chemical alternative to getting rid of my daughter’s lice. I am so glad I found you… you spent time and explained the process thoroughly and I am convinced that my problems are solved. Keep up the good work!

The treatment worked. But I was frustrated that they combed throughout kids head for 20 minutes and found nothing. It took me a second to find a nit and literally 5 seconds to find a louse. They have good intentions, good info and good equipment, but trust your parental skills. They sent me home with a kid with a head full of lice and I had to demand my way back in because they didn’t believe they’d messed up.
Too expensive to be mediocre. I’d go elsewhere if some else had the same product. I tried the shampoos. All of them. This technique is effective. But overpriced for the quality of service.

No one knows the nightmare of discovering lice like a parent who finds them on their child! This morning while I did my daughters hair, I discovered a full head of lice on my beautiful daughter’s head! About a month ago I thought my daughter had it and brought her in for a check. Carrie gave me the most thorough education on what to look for! So when I discovered them recently, I knew immediately what it was. I called Nit Free Noggins shortly after discovering the lice and we got a treatment an hour later. Sadly, I had a few nits too. The treatment feels like an amazing head massage and they are meticulous about brushing through ever hair on your head. They gave us guidelines on how to clean our home and the next day we woke up nit and lice free! The best part is you can call with any questions and they guarantee the treatment up to two weeks. The women who run the wheeling location are so wonderful. The toy area makes the wait fun for the kids and the location is discreet (in case you want to keep your lice bout under wraps!) I pray we never get lice again, but if we do, I will never hesitate to go to Nit Free Noggins. Worth every single penny! THANK YOU!

Wow, I can’t thank this place enough. I was extremely freaked out as this was the first time we’ve experienced lice (my daughter had it), and were getting ready for a trip out of town for Spring Break. I live downtown — couldn’t get in at downtown location — but Wheeling location was happy to stay open while I battled rush hour to get out there and get the situation taken care of. When I arrived we were met by Jennifer — lovely woman — and she put my daughter (and me) at ease immediately. Very friendly, efficient and no more lice. She walked through everything I needed to do at home and was so relaxed about it — it brought my anxiety down and I was able to take care of the situation. Still doing laundry, but my daughters head was perfectly clean when we used the nit comb last night — post visit.

Carrie and Jennifer and wonderful. I called at 3:30 on Friday afternoon and they took our entire family right away. We all needed de-​lousing. They were super nice, calmed down me and the kids and got rid of the problem in one easy step. I highly recommend them. No nasty chemicals or worries about re-​hatching.

The price is steep, but is totally worth every penny. The hot air treatment is relatively quick, totally painless, and you can actually see that you are vermin free when it is done. Plus, the expert advice on how to care for your home, clothing, and your scalp if any other outbreaks should occur is icing on the cake.

If you ever come across this horrible issue, this place is a MUST! Jennifer is awesome. This was our first time going through this. We tried a natural home kit for our daughter but wanted to make sure we got everything and also wanted to get the rest of the family checked. Jennifer was very thorough and honest about her findings. Turned out that we were all bug free, except for one nit left on my daughter. She combed it out and also showed me how to do it properly for the future. We didn’t end up using their airalle treatment since we removed everything but it provided SO much peace of mind to have a professional look us over and give us the stamp of approval. And good thing she caught the last nit, that could have started the whole cycle again! If I knew about this place before doing the home kit, I would’ve come straight here without a doubt!

I took care of my daughter but had no one to comb me out. Thank goodness for this place. Convenient, clean, and so incredibly accomodating. I called at 5pm and she told me to come on in.
I echo the previous review — what a timesaver. If I knew about this location I wouldn’t have tortured my poor kid with various ineffective treatments for the last 5 days. Nix, mayo, olive oil — nothing worked.
Carrie treated my mild case in an hour and then checked my daughter to make sure I got everything out.

This is a GREAT place to go if your family has to deal with lice issues! We saw Carrie on Monday afternoon and LOVED her! She’s so calming, knowledgeable and a welcome relief for a kind of stressful situation.

So I went into the Ashland location today because I found lice in my daughter’s hair. The woman there checked her and confirmed the case and then checked me-​and said she found lice on my hair too. I had second thoughts when she sent us home to wash and dry our hair before she started treatment, and called Hair Fairies on Clark. We went there instead. When the technician at Hair Fairies checked my head, thouroughly, there was no sign of lice. Phantom lice! I am wondering-​did the lady here just pull out the only four nits in my hair and I was miraculously cured? or did she pull out a comb with four old nits on it and show them to me to get another treatment out of me?
Anyway-​I am so happy I went elsewhere, I liked the Hair Fairies much better. It is private-​on a second floor walk up, the technicians are cool and there were 4 as opposed to the one bossy one at Nit Free Noggins. Also, they don’t use that heat thing that pumps 130 degrees onto my kids head-​which really freaked us both out. And-​best of all they discovered that I had no lice and I didn’t have to pay for 2 treatments, which would have cost me $ 400. Hair Fairies is a little more expensive– but in my opinion totally worth it!

I went to the Ashland Ave location. Very professional environment and service. The lady working there was very friendly and made my daughter feel very comfortable. I would highly recommend this place if actually WHEN you run into this issue.

This place is absolutely wonderful, and the staff are very, very kind. The Wheeling location is so nice, and going there saved my sanity and saved an ubelieveable amount of time, frustration and money. We have had these in years past, so I know what I’m talking about.
The staff was just wonderful with my kids, reassuring them and making sure they had everything they could possibly want to do while they waited for their siblings (and Mom) — even an ipad offered to play with, making my son want to go back the next day. Carrie is a person who clearly wants to help other people and goes out of her way to do so.
Here is the most impressive thing though. I went in expecting to spend a fortune. She only found two cases out of our family of 5, so she only suggested treating those two. A lot of people would captialize on your fear and suggest treating the other 3 just to be safe. She felt it was uncessary but said she would check in a week to make sure. I paid $ 300+, a complete bargain compared to professional nitpickers I have hired in the past.
Note to the guy who said to just go to the drugstore and buy rid. Don’t listen to him, or you will have an infestation!!! One of the little boys in my child’s class was treated by his Dad (a pediatrician) with Rid (he also had his head shaved). The child returned to school, and the nurse looked at his head under a magnifying glass and found live lice crawling all over his shaved head which I saw with my own disbelieving eyes. The same nurse checked my kids heads after Nit Free Noggins, finding absolutely nothing! As one author put it in an article online, «Lice laugh at the stuff at Walgreens.» Thanks to Nit Free Noggins, I had the last laugh this time.

Great service! One visit was all it took to take care of our daughter. Much easier and faster than dealing with shampoos.
