Whitmore Lake Golf Links

Such a fun and great golf course. I was there for an event and actually didn’t golf so I can’t comment on the holes themselves. I was just there to drive around and check on the groups from our event that day. The golf course employees were kind and accomadating and I hope that they will have us back next year, look forward to actually golfing that time.

A tale of two courses!
In general the course was in good shape. However, there was a large variation in the speed of the greens. One would be lightning fast, but the next would be slow. And the one sand trap I was on had many small rocks, perfect for marring your club.
The front nine wasn’t overly long and was more of a «target golf» style, but somewhat open. If the whole course was like this, it would rate 4 stars.
The good thing about the nine is the quiet and nature. But for some unknown reason, the course architect decided to build on every trick possible to make you lose golf balls! Unless you hit a perfect shot every time you will lose at least 8 to 10 balls. If that is your idea of fun have at it. Back nine rates one star.
The other issue was pace of play. We had an extremely slow group ahead of us, but no ranger ever told them to speed it up or let someone play through. We had to skip a hole to avoid a 6 hour round.
My advice: play the front, then go to the bar. If you want to play 18, go somewhere else.

Shit golf course and very poor management. Not worth your time or money to play. Stay away.

Good course for an average golfer not very long but narrow fairways. Decent range located deep in the back country off a dirt road. High grass and thick rough at times.

Being an Asian, I never could afford to play tennis or golf (!)… but little did I know’bout poker at a golf course… (gotto credit Phil Ivey a bit here!) … (maths, asian are good at it etc relations) …I did try playing a bit of poker in Arizona but I would always go against some drunkard Arizonian a’hole who’d’nt be short of cash at any point of time… so this has to be my first good experience playing poker and enjoying some good beer time here in MI… a good poker place and a cool hangout to grab a bunch of beers… service is always A+ and if you are good at maths, you might as well earn some money ! … definitely a 4+ star…
