Ji’s Art Studio

Ive been going to this studio since i was in sixth grade. Now i’m in high school and am very satisfied with the amount of knowledge I have gained and the techniques I have learned. The teacher really gets to know who you are as a person and doesn’t settle on a platonic relationship. She makes sure you know what you are learning and I am deeply satisfied with how my art has changed. I can assure that you will learn plenty from her and will be very happy with how you grow as an artist. I wouldn’t recommend another place to take an art class except for here.

I’m a high school freshmen that’s been at this studio for about a year now and I highly recommend this studio if you want to refine your portfolio for college. The teacher really helps you become a better artist in different types of mediums. I had never tried using watercolor before and usually stuck with colored pencils, but after she taught me how to use it properly, it’s now my favorite medium to use. You also have creative freedom of what you want to draw/​paint for your portfolio. You can definitely get into the college you want if you work hard and stay committed to art with this teacher. She also has a lot of knowledge on different art colleges so she can help you find what best suits you.
During classes, she usually puts on music to listen to or you can bring your own with earphones. You usually get out the art piece your working on and continue working on it. She goes around and helps each student with their current piece. She also has top quality supplies that you can freely work with. The class environment is very serene. It’s very relaxing and you can focus easily on your work. She also has the availability of photoshop so if you want to major in graphic design she can help you with that also. However, you really need to work hard and show up on time so she knows that you are actually dedicated to art and willing to learn. That’s the only way you will see improvements in your art. Plus, she has many years of experience in art and really boosts the quality of work that you make.
Overall, my experience with this art studio has been great. She really does care about you and your art achievements. She tells it like it is and really does gives you guidance into making your art exceed into another level. She knows what and how to make you into a better artist. You should definitely try this place because it will benefit you greatly in your future as an artist.

I also got into Pratt, PNCA in Portland, and Art Center along with receiving scholarship money.

I have only been here for about i guess 2 ½, almost 3 years and this place is definitely a place to go if you want to improve your portfolio for college. The teacher will really do all her best to help you improve and make you go beyond your limit. If you want to succeed and get into a really good college, then listen and make sure to take in all the advice and critique that Ji gives you because it WILL help you in the future when you are either at an art college or maybe a future job as an artist. There are also some days which you have to finish the work at home, but other than that, you do most of the work in class (min of 2 classes per week).
Everything that she does and says is basically what it is going to be like in college so this is a really good place to get prepared. The teacher has also succeeded in helping students prepare a full and well done portfolio in only a few weeks (but you will have to commit yourself to finish on time). It is also possible to do volunteer work there in addition to taking some art classes as it will most likely help for your college applications too~ Food and drinks is allowed, and so is listening to music on your phone or ipod or something… and sometimes, she does put music on the speaker so it is not always quiet ;)
I would definitely recommend this place to any art students who wants to get into a really good art college, because this place has helped me get into great art colleges such as Art Center, Parsons, Pratt, SVA, etc. The teacher has helped tons and TONS of students get into colleges of their choices, many of which got into Art Center, Parsons, Otis and RISD ;D So definitely chose this place because it is better than vision 21 (which is wayyyy toooo expensive compared to this wonderful place)~
