Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores

I want to say how nice Margarit is as a cashier. I just bring the coupon book and she looks through it to save me money. This cashier greets me hello and you can be sure you get a goodbye. I sincerely being greeted with a smile. I go into Joanne every week and hope she helps me.

It was my first time at this store. Really nice stuff and have discounts. By the way costumer service was great young man helped us so much. I would love to come again.

So so sad. I’ve been here twice and the customer services with a bunch of grumpy old women working there go well with the run down sad looking exterior of this store. Nobody is helpful.
They get annoyed when I asked a basic question, such as what isle would I find the elastic bands? One told me off rudely to find someone else because she was off the clock. The other one told me two isles behind her. I’m like two isles on the left, middle or right side because the store is spilt into 3 different sections??? Then she stared and rolled her eyes at me under her bifocals and told me it’s the middle idle behind her! WTH? Ma’am yes Ma’am!
I ended up going isle by isle to find my other items because I didn’t wanna bother pissing off any other grumpy old ladies there…

This is place always feels a little shabby and outdated, despite how clean they keep the interior. It might have something to do with the lighting, the fact that every time I go there’s no music playing, and the bored/​disinterested attitude of the employees. Some of the employees over the years have been great, really friendly and perfect for customer service. But some in particular, especially the ones who cut the fabric, seem like they hate their jobs. Last week we went in there and we were rung up by a youngish female cashier who we assumed was a seasonal employee, because we shop there often and had never seen her before. We were summoned from our place in line with a flat «Next», and were neither greeted at the beginning nor thanked at the end of the transaction. In fact she didn’t say much of anything through the entire process. How do these people get hired? Please, Jo-​Annes, hire some peppy workers who are happy to help us out because I could easily go to Walmart and get the same bad attitude from employees at half the price!

Does this store EVER answer it’s phone!!! I’ve been calling for two days to see if they have something in stock. It’s so frustrating

This place is a total mess! Their selection is terrible! Couldn’t find what I was looking for (blue ribbon) and their prices are kind of high. They need to hire more cashiers, people to put merchandise away, and to straighten up the store. Also, the fabrics they sell is ugly. I guess I’ll either purchase fabric online or go to L.A. if I’m desperate!

Customer service is totally lacking and the. Store is severely understaffed. Extremely long lines to have fabric cut and to pay. The clerks ate rude and know almost nothing about fabric. Go to hobby lobby if u want service.

Slowest service ever. Lots of chit-​chatting. I get it, friendly service but not everyone has all the time in the world. Lines were held back because cashier was taking her sweet time. Annoying.

The cutting counter clerk and check out clerk were incredibly rude. We explained to the cutting counter clerk what our project was and asked for help in finding the right amount of fabric. She was very uninterested and annoyed. Once we finally got to the checkout clerk, she started talking to another clerk about the woman who checked out before us, ridiculing her for trying to return something. Very unprofessional and rude.

It’s a fun place to shop for fabric, but honestly I only come because it’s my only option other than online. 4 Stars for customer service, 3 Stars for inventory, 2 Stars because I get frustrated with how their sales and coupons work. I wish they would just sell things at a cheaper price and no one has to get worked up about coupons!

Really??? It’s Saturday, they’ve got this big sale going on, and they have only ONE cashier??? A huge corporate chain like this, their cashiers can’t make more than 11 bucks an hour… they are greedy you-​know-​whats and should be ashamed of themselves! I came here to get a gift certificate for my niece and to top it off, they wouldn’t let me use my credit card – cash or debit only! I turn around to leave and see this larger-​than-​life picture of Jennifer Garner schilling for them, so they are happy to pay her who knows how many millions, but they can’t afford to staff their stores? Not coming here again if I can help it!

I really dislike coming to his store. Almost every time I come I get the same lady at the cutting table and she is not a very nice person. If she is not partial to you, she will be cold and impersonal. Oh well, they keep raising their prices anyway, so I guess it’s time to look for another store to get my material.

The cut table had 1 slow lady cutting in slow mo, then she failed to give a customer her ring up ticket. So the cashier left her register to find the ticket. Asked the cutter to make another after a different slow mo lady put it away. So 3 slow ladies helping one customer was a nightmare. All I wanted was 1 yard of fabric!!! Please Joanna’s pep up the staff! They don’t smile, they are grumpy and slow.

Went here to buy some fabric and the line was ridiculously long; management didn’t do anything to speed up the process (only one cashier). Waited in line for 30 mins, only to be told that I needed to go back and get a new ticket stub and wait in another long line. I simple gave up. Not worth my time. Will not be returning.

I grew up in Whittier and Jo-Ann’s has been at this location for as long as I can remember. The length of its presence is now showing in the building’s poorly maintained exterior façade, which needs a face lift or, at the very least, some new paint.
Jo-Ann’s gets three stars for its dependability. I know it exists and I know it will have pretty much whatever crafty type item I need – I purchased the fabric, glue, and some accent lace for my Halloween costume here. The fabrics can get pricey; while looking at cost of some of them, I kept thinking I should have gone to the fashion district downtown. But that’s a mess in and of itself. So I pay a higher price for some semblance of organization and not having to drive up and down crowded streets until I find the ones where all the fabric vendors are.
The three stars rather than four are due to service. Jo-​Ann, you’ve been in operation so long you should know enough to hire additional help during your busiest month, October. Lines so long for both the cashier and fabric cutting should not be so long. And you need customer service representatives on the floor to answer questions so that people don’t have to wait in line just to find out where the fabric glue is.

I’ve been here two times recently. I’ve had a generally good experience both times.
I believe the prices are more expensive than at Walmart but they have far more selection and materials. However I believe they have coupons both in their site and through text.
If you text the word «coupon» to the number 56 266, you receive coupons. They do expire so make sure to keep an eye out. My first coupon was for 20% off and second was for 25% off.
I’ll admit the fabric is a bit messy and disorganized but if you spend the time looking through everything, you might find better discounts. Some sections have sales on certain fabrics, and with coupons can really lower cost expenses.
Both times the staff have been really kind to me and from the interactions with other customers I saw, I’d say the same. They make small chit-​chat and are willing to give advice if you need it. So don’t be afraid to ask.
I’ve never had to wait longer than 5 minutes for my turn at the cutting table which I consider reasonable.
I’d definitely recommend this place but keep an eye out for sales and coupons!

I hate coming in here. Every time it’s the same problem. They’re understaffed, only staff old, rude people, and there is barely anyone working. The fabrics are expensive. The store is pretty run down too. They usually only have one person working the cash register. Stay away!

I wanted to check out this place out for some good deals on gift wrapping items. I was not disappointed. I also purchased Christmas lights here and materials to make some tree ornaments. Their bread and butter is fabric and dress-​making and the crafts side is secondary.
The parking lot is huge! I’ve never seen it full. I wonder how much they have to pay for all that space.
I enjoyed shopping here, but they did, however, give me the impression that the store is not very well managed and organized. Compared to Michael’s, you’ll find a lot of their stock is disorderly. I wanted to come back for more of the ribbons I purchased but they ran out of them, and I didn’t bother o ask because the staff don’t look very accommodating.
Customer service is mediocre. In fact if it’s busy, the line is really slow. Plus, it’s really not nice of the staff to argue in front of customers. I saw them arguing once because they couldn’t find something. I bet if they were more organized things would flow more smoothly. I think they need a refresher on customer service.

This place is huge! It has a whole parking lot to itself.
I was here in search of a storage box for beads. Was not greeted at the entrance, did not even find an employee to help me locate them — even after walking an entire half of the store. Eventually found the items myself, but not the kinds I was looking for.
On other occasions though, I find Joann’s to be my go-​to craft store. They accept competitor’s coupons and will match competitor prices for identical items. And you can get their coupons texted to your phone.

Ok let’s be honest. This Jo-Ann’s looks a bit ghetto from the outside.
The staff though, is amazing. One tried to help us calculate the difference in price between two items. We wanted to find the better deal per square foot, so she stuck around and pondered with us for a bit.
Then cashier did some coupon magic with my purchase and saved me money.
