Came in for a quick lunch — I wanted something that was fairly clean-tasting, and that wouldn’t break the bank. — FOOD #4 Bento — chicken teriyaki with California rolls(4 pc) and mixed tempura(includes a piece of shrimp!!). It was ready quickly, within 10 minutes after ordering, and the box was filled with a hefty amount of food. A full ¼ of the box was steamed veggies which provided a nice balance to the large portion of chicken over rice served. There was also the right amount of sauce — a good ratio of chicken to rice to sauce, with enough to add flavor to the veggies if desired. For just under $ 10, this was a steal! — OTHER The girl behind the counter was welcoming, and greeted me when I walked in. The eating space was nice and open. You order and pick up from the counter. There’s also a large, self-serve dispenser of lemon-infused iced water on the counter. I was quite satisfied! It’s within walking distance of my parents house, so if I’m ever in town again with a craving for some solid Japanese food, I’d swing through again!

Been here twice this month, so far so good. Best bento box in Whittier. I always get the chicken bento box. Dont go to the place thats in the Market Place, this one is way better. Ask for the rewards card, for every $ 10 you get a stamp, fill the card and get a $ 10 meal free.

My stomach is still full from devouring that bento box. Okay so let’s begin; the customer service was great because of the guy in the front *cashier*. He was nice& I noticed him always busy, table touching, because of him the dining room remained clean& organized. I ordered the #3 Bento Box. It originally comes with teriyaki chicken+ gyoza& California roll. I asked for beef + $ 1, brown rice + $ 1& a crunch roll + $ 1. $ 13 in total which is kinda high but not to bad. The sushi was amazing, it tasted so fresh and I really just loved it. The beef was also delicious, the brown rice was hard and I had better. That’s the only thing I didn’t eat. The gyoza were yummy and I believe they were pork. All in all it was good. I asked for spicy mayo and it was the cream on the crop.

Customer service was good and friendly. The ambience is mellow but the parking sucks. The California rolls and spicy tuna rolls were really good.

early lunch and fairly quiet… mainly teriyaki rice bowls and sushi rolls… plus more items in a large menu format… counter order and self-seating tables… better for to-go orders since no restrooms… beef plate $ 8.95 and self-serve soda fountain $ 1.75…total $ 11.66 for meal and soda after tax… presentation is excellent for a styrofoam box of teriyaki beef… perfect even layer of beef with even drizzle of teriyaki sauce and some garnish… heavy thick bed of rice hidden beneath… definitely a lot more rice… rice was cooked perfectly. beef quality and taste good… bit heavy on the sauce, but plenty of rice to offset… simple steamed vegetables fairly standard with any teriyaki bowl… maybe ask for less rice and more vegetables…

I would rate this place 3.5 stars… the simple fact is I ordered something and got another… similar plates but not the same. …same price but not what I ordered… I didn’t hve time to wait so I left… food was OK for the price… the salmon plate was more loaded with rice then anything… the vegetables were good and the salmon pieces were pretty small… it tasted great and the over all portion was good but way more rice then anything… clean spot. I would still come back, but verify my order for sure

I’ve tried this place couple of times since it’s close to my sister’s place. I love all of their rolls but especially the one with the salmon and shredded onion on top. And my hubby’s favorite is the teriyaki chicken and beef combo. Meets are so moist and delicious. And their portions are big enough to share with my kid.

Thanks for saving my day when I forgot to pack lunch for my endless day at work. I usually come here to pick up my order and leave within 3 min. I love how they take your order over the phone and actually have it ready when you arrive. I love the prices of the chicken bowl and how they will customize it the way you want. I always get the chicken bowl with teriyaki on the side and I substitute the white rice for brown rice. This review is missing a star because they charge a fee for credit cards if the order is under 10 $ sometimes I have to order 2 bowls. I hate fees by the way. This is the 21st century and fees are a no no in my Book.

I pass by this place almost everyday so decided to give it a try a couple of weeks ago and been going here almost daily since. Fish is surprisingly and pleasantly fresh on rolls and tempura is to die for. I have so far tried philadelphia, washington, hawaiian rolls, udon, tempuras, and chicken teriyaki and i have not been disappointed yet. I think the portion is quite good for the price and selection is huge. They can get quite busy during the peak time so i recommend calling ahead like i do if you have something better to do then wait around.

Food is ALWAYS fresh. Service is excellent. Super fast but doesn’t lack in quality. Ordered to-go over the phone, they told me 5 minutes, got there 5 minutes later and everything was perfectly packed and ready for me :) What more can I ask for?

First visit, This place from the outside gave the vibe it’s a chicken bowl place but after stepping inside i was pretty surprised that it’s a legit Japanese sushi place. The woman at the register was very pleasant. The huge color picture menu was a big plus because I’m a visual person when it comes to ordering. Ordered the Ramen soup and Crunchy Rolls which both tasted better than I expected since I wasn’t really thinking this end of Whittier had good Japanese food. Sushi– was of the perfect texture with a balance of crunchy and moisture. The flavors of avocado, shrimp and cucumber were all equally represented for a great tasting sushi. Ramen– was very good and perfect for a cool night. The broth was not too overwhelming or salty. I actually hasn’t had good ramen since I was in Honolulu and this wasn’t comparable on a epic level but it was really good considering this places location. The restaurant itself was simple with enough seating for about 20 – 25 persons, a lot of lighting and the average customer appear to be a regular. The staff were very attentive and pleasant to interact with. I will definitely return for lunch or dinner. I look forward to trying the Alaska Rolls and the Teriyaki plates. Give them a try.
