This store is awesome! Loved going here as kid, they have all kinds of toys, little cheap fun knick knacks that I always end up buying every time I walk in, too awesome birthday gifts! Vintage, vintage candy! An awesome animé section which is what still brings me into the store at age 22! So many soda pops! All kinds of flavor and made with pure cane sugar! If you’re in the area i recommend walking in and checking it out. Wish Unilocal had a 10 star button but 5 will do

I used to come to The Wishing Well as a kid and remember being starstruck at the rows and rows of toys. Located right near Central Park and Tiffany’s, it has an air of tradition and the service is always fantastic. Definitely a kid’s (and even an adult returning to visit!) dream. One of the highlights is The Wishing Well — a large candy shop on the bottom floor that even includes 10 lb !! popular candy bars like Reese’s Cups.

My family lives in uptown and we love the city and hope that small businesses can thrive against all those chain stores and restaurants, and that’s the reason we like to shop and dine at all those local establishments.
We went in to this toy store one day and bought a pair of shoes and hat for my baby. The prices are not cheap but we didn’t think about finding it cheaper online since we want to support these businesses. Two weeks later when we first tried out the shoes, the lace was broken, and it’s clearly a defect since the lace was not sewed well. We took it to the store with receipt and the clerk was very courteous and asked us to wait since he had to call his owner to get an approval. The owner asked him questions for minutes; as I couldn’t hear what he/​she asked, the clerk kept saying the shoes seems unworn and new and the lace was just broken. Eventually the clerk was asked to send a picture to him/​her. We waited for another 10 minutes and the clerk told us that it couldn’t be returned because it’s past 10 days of purchase. I told them we just took it out of the box and found out it’s broken, but the clerk kept saying there’s nothing he could do.
I do understand for a store like this to survive, it can’t have return policy like nordstrom or Costco. But on the other hand, for it to stay in business, customer relationship is very important. We are customers who want it to be successful, but the feeling that the owner gave us that we were trying to rip the store off, or scam them, made us very uncomfortable.
For sure next time, if we were going to spend this amount of money to buy a pair of shoes and a hat, we will definitely head to Nordstrom or Saks or Bloomingdales.

i love this place so much! i go here all the time ~ staff is super friendly :) so nice! also this might sound weird, but this is where i fell in love (long story short, it was the moment when we realized we loved each other c:) and whenever we go to uptown we always visit ^.^ i love coming with my friends ~ my sister recently got a job there too and they let me have 20% off discount now! LOVE all the kind of stuff they have, especially the animé merch and the candy section, and omg i love their drinks! the japanese bubble juice is so yummy: D this place is so adorable, omg i want everything they have! LOVE IT :3

Great stuff, stopped to buy a gift and ended up stuck looking at all the cool stuff, lots of local designers of kids clothes to jewelry, hard to find and unique everything! And free gift wrapping!

Nostalgic. I don’t have kids but walked in with my sister, brother in law, and niece. Brought back a ton of memories that someone on their 40’s could appreciate. A must see in Whittier if you enjoy things like Star Wars (the movies from the 70’a not the crap they put out recently), green army action figures, and cap bombs. Check it out, you might enjoy the store too!!!

Located in the heart of Uptown Whittier I often walk my child
there after having lunch nearby on Greenleaf.
Every time I visit this fantastic store I could expect to find some unique
toy that lights my kids face up with a smile from ear to ear.
It’s comforting to be able to ask the friendly staff to help me pick
out great gifts for any kids birthday parties.
Always saving me time and the gifts are always a big winner at our parties.
My only regret is not having a toy store like this as a kid.

Great place! i always love stopping by when im shooping in uptown whittier. I recently stopped by to purchase a beautiful giraffe piñata for my daughters 1^st birthday party. My husband stopped by to pick it up but the store was closed already, the following day Shelly from the store offered to personality drop it off at my house! really nice and sweet of her. I definitely recommend this store it has super friendly and helpful people that go outta their way to make customers happy!!! btw the piñata is absolutely beautiful!!!

Great place. Has unique toys and gifts for all ages (even fun for adults to play with). Lots of toys that engage the brain as well as encouraging curiosity in children. But really one of the best things about this local gem is the customer service. Every time my husband and I go there the employees and store owners are so helpful. My husband and I were trying to pick out the perfect toys to send to our nephews in New Zealand that would be fun, engaging and light (to avoid exorbitant shipping costs) and the store owner helped us find a stomp rocket made of foam and plastic, light and fun. We recently got to enjoy our nephew playing with it over Skype. Entertainment for all. This place is worth it. Great quality and service.

Yes, store is very nicely laid out. I spent almost $ 100 on some used clothes. The lady that checked me out was very nice that day when she was trying to get me to purchase a $ 54 tutu dress. I ended up buying it, took it home and it was too small for my daughter. She didn’t get to try it on at all!
I tried returning it yesterday, same lady was soo rude. She accused me of ripping the dress, not I’m sorry mam I can’t take it back. No– she literally looked at me and said you’re trying to return a dress u damaged. Umm, no lady my daughter didn’t even try it on and it’s not damaged looks like the stitching came out. That’s fine– I took the dress and got it fixed at dry cleaners.
Very rude.

Walked in today at 3:30 pm… Before I could even walk two steps into the store some teenager said «we’re closed» and turned around.
No «sorry we’re closed», etc.
I was ready to spend some serious money but I will take my business elsewhere.

Its an awesome store! Went and had tons of fun with a all the different toys. I gotta say the stuff was a bit pricey for me, you won’t find me spending big bucks in the toy department for my 2 yr old. But they do sell used clothes for a fraction of the price! I went and bought 3 sets of PJs for my kiddo at $ 2 ea! Total steal! Bargain+fun= Great time!

We were walking in the neighborhood and stopped in, nice friendly place. Bought a few toys and enjoyed ourselves. Had the pleasure of meeting little Charlie, what a happy friendly beautiful little boy, made me laugh like a kid again. FREE wrapping included and not expected.

I needed to buy a Christmas gift — quick! — for a little three year old friend. He’s into trains, cars, crashing those things together… he’s a little boy!
I knew that I needed to get to the Wishing Well. I’d been three or four times before when I wanted to wow a parent (and the kid) with a quirky, cute toy. Melissa and Doug is a great brand for kids (or dogs, kinda kidding) who have a penchant to chew stuff or hold toys in their mouths… yes they’re made out of wood, but they’re made with safe, nontoxic ingredients. Minus the splinters if they do decide to gnaw.
It’s a little kid’s heaven on earth in there! It’s decorated whimsically, the toys are all very attractively laid out.
If you need a gift for a little one and you’re in the area, I highly recommend this place. It reminds me of Dr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium. And there’s something Roald Dahl-​ish about it.

I had never been to this store befote, but because of Nicole, I’m a lifetime customer! She was so sweet and helpful and helped me pick out exactly what I needed. I’m serious, this girl rocks! This is the perfect spot for Christmas gifts! I’ll definitely be back soon, and hopefully Nicole is there!

Very cool boutique kids store. What is unique is that the store carries many reproduction of 50’s & 60’s type of windup tin toys, wooden cars & swords, rubber band shooters, cap guns, rocking horses, board games etc. The toys are very simple and remind of the toys from childhood or wish I had as a kid. The shoes for the toddlers rock, they are totally themed out with dinosaur scales or animal themed. Prices for some of the clothing or toys are alittle on the pricey side, but you are not going to easily find them any place else.

I stopped by the store today around 4pm. The doors were closed and there was no sign indicating whether someone was on a break and returning shortly (which has happened before, only they weren’t back by the time stated) or if the store was closed. I walked to my car and looked up their site which lists Sunday hours from 11 – 7. I tried calling the number, but machine was off (no information given or a message could be left).
I’ve shopped at the store many times. I’ve prepaid and ordered gifts as well. As a customer I am very concerned about the lack of customer service in store and over the phone. I’ve returned time after time in hopes that my experiences would be better, however most times they haven’t been. I want to support a local store, really I do, but I feel as if I am not valued as a customer and find myself seeking alternatives.
I hope this message is taken constructively and areas improve. I hesitated to write (I normally wouldn’t), but I feel this shop has great potential and if I’m feeling this way I’m sure others are as well. Also, how would they know there are concerns if nobody voices them?
