Oakwood Express

Excellent choice when it comes to barbecue. The charbroiled baby back ribs are mouthwatering. The side items such as the baked beans are truly made with a homestyle taste. I have tried all of the side items at some point and the Lima beans taste like grandmas.

We have visited this restaurant twice. The first time we enjoyed the rib dinner. We both had the Black Eyed Peas which were tasty. I had the corn salad, which was good but not what I expected so I wouldn’t get them again. My husband had the greens, which he described as good but slightly under cooked. The second visit we ordered the rib combo. I chose beef as my second meat, which was undercooked and arrived with blood on my plate. I didn’t eat it as I have never had smoked meat that was bloody. My husband had the sliced pork with his. I ordered fries and lima beans for the sides. The fries are great, real potatoes seasoned well. I enjoyed the limas but added pepper because I like them that way. My husband ordered the black eyes and green beans which were tasty. Service was friendly and quick. Drinks were kept full. When I said something about the beef, they offered to replace it.
On our first visit, I asked why this location was called Oakwood Express. The plans were to be more of a takeout version of the original Oakwood but customers wanted sit down too so they have tables. This location has a limited menu but there should be something for everyone.
The ribs are well worth the visit so give them a try.
