I came here for a few drinks with friends. It’s one of my friend’s favorite bars so I wanted to check it out and see what all the fuss was about. Firstly, it’s in a great location. Just off the Lorimer stop on the L train. This is also a great location for bars in general so it’s definitely worth popping in here for a drink if you’re in the area. It has a very divey atmosphere with graffiti all over the walls, rock/metal music, etc. The staff were extremely friendly and service was great. I absolutely loved the goblets the draft beers are served in, makes you feel like an absolute boss all night! Nice selection of draft beers and very cheap at about $ 5/$ 6 a beer. We sat in the corner of this place for a few hours and just chilled and had a really good time. It didn’t really do anything wrong. It’s just a nice, staple, Brooklyn-esque place and one I would recommend. Inexpensive, friendly staff and cool atmosphere.

whenever I am visiting NY I always end up frequenting this bar. cheap drinks, cheap beers, good atmosphere, and it’s located by a number of late night food spots. my only gripe is I wish the back patio was open at night. If you’re into dive bars I can’t imagine why Rocka Rolla wouldn’t be an ideal spot to hit at some point during your night.

Heads up, beers come in giant frosted glasses. Some people like that some don’t. But now you know.

This place seems like it would be a lot more fun in the summer when its warm enough to hang out in the outside area. When its cold, everyone crams indoors and it’s just a bunch of pissed off hipsters in winter coats glaring at each other for knocking into them and making them spill the beer that’s too cool for you to have heard of. Tip: if you score a booth do not get up under any circumstances, you are officially the luckiest person in this bar.

Really cool place of you’re in the mood for a beer. The location is great and the fact that they have a jukebox machine makes is possible for you to select which song or mood should be next ;)

What a phenomenal dive bar! I’m surprised more Unilocal reviewers didn’t get as much of a kick out of Rocka Rolla as I did. My crew and I rolled in very, very late Saturday night(aka Sunday morning, technically), and the place was still bumpin. In other words, a lot of people, but not claustrophobic. Like any good dive bar, Rocka Rolla is covered in 60 – 80’s Americana kitsch, neon signs included. Their jukebox/playlist matches this aesthetic to the tee, with plenty of 70’s punk, 80’s new wave, and 60’s surfer rock to provide a killer soundtrack to a good night. And of course the drinks — $ 3 for a goblet of Bud! If this excites you, then Rocka Rolla is your kind of bar. Granted, you can also order from a nice selection of craft beers, and their«coffee thing,» an alcoholic coffee slushie served in those old school takeout coffee cups, is definitely worth a try. Overall, I had a BLAST at Rocka Rolla, and can’t wait to go back. One of Williamsburg’s finest.

Last night was the first time I was ever at this bar. First I would just like to comment that it’s in a great location. It’s extremely close to the l train and across the street from an aweosme looking diner. I was pleasantly surprised by the positive atmosphere within the bar. The bartenders were super friendly and helpful. Similarly, the people inside the bar also all had great attitudes and were extremely welcoming and open to converse with new people. It was extremely homey. While I was there, I put a dollar in the juke box and was able to choose 5 songs which played on the bar’s speakers. As my first song played, a camera crew stood next to me and filmed a man dressed as a cowboy for a music video. I’m hoping to one day find myself in the background of the video! Beers are served in pimp cups(nuff said). Whiskey gingers were super strong, and I tried #7 on their drink list which I believe was called the«coffee thing» was similar to a white russian and delicious! The outdoor area is also beautiful and can fit large parties. All in all, I had a great time and will definitely be back at some point soon!

I can’t even go into how many times I tried to like and love this place. There used to be an awesome bar tender there but after she left it literally made NOSENSE to be bothered with the other bartenders and bar backs. If I am paying and TIPPING, why should I have to kiss someone’s ass to get a drink. I a not there to flirt with anyone or cause someone to be stressed while working. I am easy going almost always bring people in with me. Easily I could have been a regular but the people lack customer service or just TINYTINY bit of appreciation, then why bother. The biggest issue I had here was being told I didn’t tip enough when I actually tipped like 40+% on tab that was like 120. There was some confusion during the changing of shifts. I WASTHEREFORHOURS. It was me and my friend. A girl hung out for an hour or two with me but basically it was me and my buddy celebrating life. We gave the leaving bartender $ 40 cash before she left and left our card open instead of closing out. I thought I would stay longer and invite friends but the woman who took over took forever to get me my next round. She literally ignored us and served others who were not waiting for beers like us. i called my friends and said stay away. Took one beer and decided to close out. LONGSTORYSHORT– she hassled me about my card. Asked for id like i stole something. Accusatory. I drink there and at the other bar she works at(this place owns) so you know I am a regular in area. I usually buy rounds for others too. I assume she remembers me. I stand out. LOL That alone warrants a low tip – correct? TOTALLY hassled me about giving her a ten dollar tip. She poured ONEDRINK on our decent size tab. ONEDRINK and that is because of her attitude. Why would I stay there? I left her a ten dollar tip. REMEMBER we gave the previous bartender $ 40 cash for tip. This chick called it out like«This is less than 20%. You make a mistake?» LMAO She doesn’t deserve 5% I get that 10 on $ 120 would be a light tip but she was totally disgusting. Plus we left cash for the ACTUALLYGOOD bartender. STIRCLEAR

After enjoying a recent Brooklyn event, a few friends and I decided to grab a nightcap before retiring to the subway to return home. A friend suggested Rocka Rolla since we were heading in the direction of the L/G station and I am thrilled she did. The bar is fairly large with booths lining the walls, neon lights in the windows and vintage beer advertisements adorning the walls. Music is abundant with the videos splayed on a full wall projection screen, which also served as a mood light of sorts. Old rock and roll wonders perform in their prime for us while we sip our $ 5 chalices of beer. I can see myself returning for more of these cheap pours.

I liked the big beers. The general vibe is OK, I am sure it varies greatly as the audience was diverse. Prices are OK. Go and judge for yourself.

LAAAARGE beer. LOOOOD music. STIIIIIICKY seats. This is a fun place to drink cheap booze out of a goblet sized beer glass like a 20-something from King of Prussia, Pennsylvania with a predilection for Viva La Bam and Black Sabbath. Come for the party, don’t leave because, well… you’re stuck to the seat.

The bar I’ve been searching for! Rocka Rolla has that equally cool/divey vibe where you can pre-game with a few friends or end up staying here for late into an evening. While it’s dark and dingy inside, it’s not dirty or suffering from the stank and is a sizable spot. Patrons are diverse, depending on the day and time, but an overall good crowd. Fun side projects: — Ice your friends — Get The Coffee Thing — Metallica pinball — Big pours of house booze Def my new go-to in the ‘burg!

This is my frequent bar stop when looking for a chill and fun crowd. The drinks are so cheap and come in enormous goblets! How can that not satisfy anyone! On top of that, they have special drinks like the one pound margarita(a challenge within itself), the coffee thing(a delicious coffee drink with plenty of alcohol), the infamous scorpion drink(sweet and delicious), and many more drinks. The bartenders for the most part are really amicable, making this place even that much better. I would recommend this place to anyone.

#Great prices. A Budweiser Schooner is $ 3. It’s pronounced«Skoo-ner.» I know. I kept pronouncing it #wrong. #Pickled Eggs are not that scary. Just hard boiled eggs with a bit of #pickled juice.

You will have a good time at Rocka Rolla, most likely because you will drink a lot of cheap booze while hanging out with your friends. The bar is more of an fancy dive than an actually dive, but the kitsch element is way high – lots of 70’s-80’s beer signs and musical references everywhere. There is plenty of space for larger groups, and the bar is big enough to hold a nice crowd as well. Well drinks ran around $ 5, and the huge schooners of beer could be had for as cheap as $ 2-$ 3 and up. The jukebox is fun but I never got to hear my songs, so I hope the crowd later on at night enjoyed my picks.

1) Insanely cheap drinks served in giant goblets! 2) Heavy metal themed. I highly approve of the Judas Priest neon sign. 3) Comfortable booths, laid-back atmosphere, and outdoor patio. 4) Definitely not a dive, cleaner than most bars in the area. 5) No credit card minimum. What’s not to love?

Rock’N Roll, 80’s and an outdoor patio!!! Not your fancy spot but a great place to have drinks with your friends or partner. This place is fun… good times indeed. You can get this awesome liquor infused cold chocolate drink, beerita, margaritas and beer. I’ve only been here in the daytime so we enjoyed our drinks on the bench on the outside patio.

Came here on the snowiest first of Spring, also known as the night before my 29th birthday… Where has the time gone!!! My cousin and I were doing a little pre birthday celebration. WE grabbed the last available booth and sat down for some serious people watching. The bar was pretty crowded, and as time passed it started getting packed. The crowd was typical Williamsburg, hipster heaven ;), we made some new friends but the focus was on the monster margaritas! They don’t have flavors, but they have margaritas in goblets the size of my head! We had two each. After all it was my birthday weekend, had to start it off right. There was no food menu, and you have to go to the very crowded bar to order drinks. Kind of a pain but considering the cheap price tag that comes along with, I get it. Definitely check it out for some drinks before a night out!

Cheap beer, great location and good tunes. While the $ 3 buds in a goblet are a deal I am also a fan of their coffee flavored cocktail which goss down far too easy. Easy contender for go-to bar in Wburg!
