I have been provide quality wine tours for about 8 years now. I can take you to either your favorite wineries or create a custom tour just for you.

Why spend the day lost… or worst yet get a DUI when Santa Leonard can take you on a magical tour you will always remember! I know the wine country very well and because of my unique looks and personality it knows me well too! I am a member of the Amalgamated Order of Real Beard Santas and have preformed at Macy’s in Union Square in San Francisco, Blackhawk Plaza, The Golden State Warriors, Coddingtown Mall and many other private and charitable events. So why take a normal wine tour when you can have Santa Leonard create a magical tour for just you!

History

Established in 2013.

I have been a wino since I was 16 and worked in the catering department of a well known winery. Our boss a nasty French Chef made us drink quality wine while we worked! I have driven for some of the biggest wine tour companies here in the North Bay for several years. I got tired of all the rules and regulations they put on me and my customers so I decide to open Wine Tours By Santa. Now you can go on a tour designed for you without the «Company won’t let us do that or there is a big extra fee for that!

I am a third generation Sonoma County Resident. I was born and raised in Wine Country. I first worked in Wineries when I was just 16 years old. I spent 20 years as a leading photographer in the wine country working in and around several wineries for many many years. About seven years ago I left the photography industry and began new career, a Wine Tour Guide! I have worked with several big Wine Tour Companies and learned my trade very well. While working with one of the big companies I meet one of the best known Santas in Wine Country. He was always a little on the grumpy side so everyone at work called him the Grumpy Santa and me The Happy Santa. The fallowing year I became the San Francisco Macy’s Santa and have been known as Santa Leonard since then.

Santa Leonard provided us with a truly excellent day of wine tasting. He was extremely easy to get in contact with, and he was responsive and clear in the planning process. He put together an entire itinerary for us at our request. The selected wineries most certainly did not disappoint, and offered the perfect mix of small family-​owned tasting experiences and slightly more lively atmospheres. Santa Leonard provided wonderful tour guide services, offering us with just enough logistics information to make us aware but still allow for a very relaxing carefree experience. He was also very flexible and easy-​going to accommodate our preferences (stopping to grab a sandwich, for example). He had the perfect balance of chatting with us while also giving us some personal space. In short, you’re «in great hands» with Santa Leonard. I would absolutely select Santa Leonard to lend his expert services for our next wine tasting day and would highly recommend his services to others!

It doesn’t get any better! Santa Leonard was such a sweet man and took amazing care of us. It was our first trip to Napa and he helped make it so memorable. He took care of our reservations and gave us all the tips for each winery we went to. He picked out all three of the wineries we visited and they were all amazing! He checked on us to ensure we were having a good time. He was very knowledgeable on the history of Napa and gave us info on all the historical background which my husband and I really enjoyed hearing about. We loved Santa so much, we book him for our upcoming trip the very same day. Santa is very responsive on email and just an all around kind man. You will not go wrong hiring him as part of your experience.

From the start, Leonard was responsive on email and phone. He was so into the detail he was kind enough to ask for my soon-​to-​be honeymooning wife’s name as we were three months from being married and would be spending a few of our honeymoon days being driven around Sonoma with him.
His ability to pick amazing views and great wines that we enjoyed was impeccable due mainly to the fact I gave him nothing to work with. Fortunately, Leonard is so experienced in this region that he can even take a vague and unspecific list from a customer like me and spin it into gold.
If you could talk to the valleys and hills or liken Leonard to a local talk radio host, this guy knows it all and knows everyone. Absolutely a must and with all the confidence and security of a designated driver.

I was a little hesitant at first to book someone to drive my own vehicle while I wine tasted but I’m so glad we did! We had an amazing girls day with Santa! He coordinated our tastings and kept us on schedule throughout the whole day. He even managed to squeeze us in to a place that wasn’t on our agenda… all while driving our own vehicle. I can’t recommend him enough!

We had an amazing time with Santa! We came out for a girls weekend in wine country, and he was an amazing guide to have. He had so much knowledge, hidden gems and valuable information. He drove our rental car, made sure we were treated properly at vineyards and made great conversation. We have taken his cards to share with friends, we will definitely use him again when we come back out!

We just recently hired Santa (Leonard) to drive us around wine country for an afternoon of wine tasting. He was super knowledgeable, kind, and flexible. He listened to what we were interested in and gave us advice on some good finds in Sonoma. He answered all of our questions we had about the region, grapes, winemaking, etc. I would highly recommend you go with Santa over any other driving service. You won’t regret it!

Santa was awesome — he went above and beyond for our trip to Napa. He planned everything to our liking since we wanted more to sightsee than do the tasting and since he knew the area well he was able to even show us how grapes were processed without having to pay. We also got to stomp on grapes which was memorable. Lastly, he even mailed us a handwritten thank you card after. Really would recommend him
Not to mention we booked at the last minute and he was able to organize everything. With a tour and as a designated driver — worth the price!!!

We used Santa aka Leonard to drive my daughter and her wedding party. He was wonderful! Very accommodating, he even tried to help us with some issues we had at the rental car company. When one of the photographers could not find the location of the groom to take pre-​wedding pics, Santa stepped in with his camera and brought us the CD later. You will not be sorry using Leonard to drive you in whatever capacity you need. He is one of a kind!

Santa is the BEST designated driver you will ever have! If you’re reading reviews right now, trying to find the best option for a wine tour or driver in the area, go ahead and save yourself the time by booking him right now.
On a recent birthday trip to Santa Rosa/​Sonoma with several friends, we decided last minute to try and find a wine driver to take us to some local wineries. Thankfully, Santa was available on such short notice and came round to meet us within half an hour.
He knows ALL of the local wineries, even the smaller more specialty ones on the back roads. He listened to what kinds of wines we liked and came up with a special list of wineries just for us (for those of us who love sparkling wines, he made a stop at a smaller family-​owned winery that specializes in sparkling reds — truly a highlight! — and for those who loved the more full-​bodied reds, he added a stop at a winery known for its cabs and zins).
Santa is also very charming and knowledgable about the area and was super fun to hang out with all day. Plus — he’s SANTA! Everywhere we went, kids and adults alike were delighted by him (one woman came up and made a Christmas wish, while another group of wine tasters wanted to take him for their own).
His prices are very reasonable, he is a safe and experienced driver, his knowledge of wine and the area is vast, and he is a lovely companion for a day of wine tasting. We hope to see him again on a future trip!

I would highly recommend! He’s very knowledgeable and professional. He organized a fabulous day of wine tasting for me and 10 friends. He accommodated all of our special requests and took us to both family owned wineries as well as the more «brand name» or well-​known wineries. A wine tour for 10 people is crazy expensive… what’s a birthday girl to do? Thankfully Santa Leonard came to the rescue! Leonard was very responsive over email and planned out a super fun for day all of us. He showed up to our house on time and was flexible with the timing of our day. As an added bonus, he was extremely knowledge about the area and provided us with a lot of fun facts. It was SO nice to just enjoy the day and leave the driving to Santa. I would highly recommend him and will definitely be using his services in the future. Thanks Santa!
