Murray’s Towing & Equipment Service

Called Murray’s for a tow to Medford from Woburn. They came out promptly, and managed to get me there fairly quick — even given the rush hour traffic. Reasonable cost, and a pleasure to deal with both on the phone and in person.
I can’t understand some of these other reviews; personally I think unhappy people like to spread their own personal brand of *joy* haha.
Also, I work at Duff Spring Company, and the owner here LOVES this company and refers all tows to them.

I highly recommend Murray’s Towing for any service from a fast tow, repairs, & reasonable prices. I was driving with both my children under the age of 5 when a piece of Debris caught my tire and blew it. I pulled over and the local police called Murray’s for a tow. The driver showed up within minutes and was very nice. He let me know the shop could have a new tire put on immediately if I wanted to tow it back to the shop and wait. I was very pleased with the quickness and service I received. I would go back for more repairs and will be using them for any upcoming tows in the future.

Called to have car towed, told me he’d be over within the hour in Burlington. 1.5 hours later, I call them back to say I’m still waiting. 3 hours waiting, no response.

I couldn’t agree more with Tom A. Scum of the earth! RUN, don’t walk away from this place. I ONLY used them b/​c they towed my a$$ off of I-​95 after blowing a serpentine belt. They sent a flat-​bed (more moolah) instead of a hitch. They hit me for $ 90 for the flat-​bed for a 6 mile drive. I was a «captive audience» with them so I let them do the work. He quoted me (with tow) at $ 520 for the belt!!! What??? «WHAAAATTT??? My guy (20 miles away) could have done it for $ 200. I talked him down an hour of work time ($ 95/​hour) so the final cost was $ 435 for a stinking belt. And it took them 3 days to do it! Again, I was a captive audience so I had them do it. So I go and pick up the car first thing in the morning and I get the «attitude» from them like I am bothering these 2 «mechanics» from drinking their coffee and smoking (read: not working). For what I paid they should’ve given me a smile and a handshake and a coupon for a free meal at the roast beef place next door (which I highly recommend BTW — forget the name). UGH!

Stay away at all costs! These guys are lazy scam artists. My girlfriend brought her car there with transmission problems. They offered to give a free estimate. They estimated 12.5 hrs. labor for a 4hr. job. When we picked up the car they tried to charge $ 85 for a «diagnostic» that was never performed. The manager insisted the transmission fluid was burned and there were transmission faults in the ECM, neither of which was true. He talked to the tech on the phone in front of me, I heard the tech through the phone say he didn’t do the diagnostic. Tried to charge for a police tow because I wouldn’t accept the diagnostic fee. Refused to accept a credit card payment because he knew the charge would be disputed. Guess what guys, you’re a towing company not the mob! And you suck as a towing company!
