The team at Studio 665 is a group of committed, dedicated, and experienced professionals with the urge to spread their love of dance with anyone with an interest to learn. Whether you’re a total beginner, just looking to hone your skills, or learn a different kind of dance to expand your repertoire, we’re here to help! History

Established in 1984.

Mark and Dawna Nocera first started the business in Malden, Massachusetts. They competed internationally in ballroom and latin and underwent extensive training in England. Eventually their busy teaching and coaching responsibilities at Studio 665, along with judging competitions and coaching college dance teams, left them little time for the extensive travel required of professional competitors and they retired in 1994. They completely refocused their energies on helping their students achieve the same level of success that they themselves achieved.

In 2003, Studio 665 moved to its present home in Woburn, Massachusetts, with more space and two dance floors.

Mark and Dawna Nocera are proud to have represented the United States at the World Professional 10 Dance Championships in Maastricht, The Netherlands.

As dancesport competitors, Mark and Dawna Nocera are the only New England couple to achieve outstanding success in National and International Professional 10-​Dance Competitions. Their titles include:

2nd-​Ranked United States 10 Dance Couple

United Kingdom 10 Dance Championships — Grand Finalists

World Professional 10 Dance Championships — Semi Finalists

As coaches, the Noceras have coached many top amateur competitors in International and American styles of Ballroom Dancing. Both Mark and Dawna have had Pro-​Am students, as well as amateur competitors, place among the top three in the U.S. National Championships. They are currently coaching the Tufts University Ballroom & Latin Dance Teams, which is among the best collegiate dance teams in New England.

My wife and I have taken dance classes at many good places throughout Boston for ballroom, salsa, Argentine tango, and others partnered styles. We enjoyed all the places and instructors, but Studio 665 has surpassed these other places.
We started with group classes at Studio 665 and later added private lessons (arguably much later than we should have). From the first class we took, the classes were 2 – 3 cuts above what we had encountered before. The group classes are fairly small and have a community feel to them. The instructors at Studio 665 are professional dancers and expert instructors and have the ability to noticeably transform several aspects to your technique in each lesson, particularly in the private lessons. Unlike some of the other places that had one or two levels after which you start reviewing, you can continue to learn new steps and improve for years.

Wanted to give great feedback overall. My wife and I got dance lessons for our wedding, neither of us had any real dance experience. We started a bit rocky because we were expecting a certain instructor the first and she did not show up, didn’t give any notice. There were also a few lessons where we were confused about how the time was split/​shared on the floor, but it wasn’t a big deal after the reasoning was explained to us. We ended up paired with Zach Bordonaro. He did an excellent job, he was very patient with me knowing that I was not comfortable with the lessons and he made it fun/​entertaining. He even let my mother show up for the last lesson and give her inputs, again, he was very patient… Zach orchestrated a great dance for my wife and I and we nailed it at the wedding. We miss seeing Zach every week and hope he is doing well!”

We bought a package for my husband, daughter and her finance to choreograph two dances prior to their wedding. Without the advantage of dancing lessons, Mark guided us through two choreograph dances — one as the bride & groom first dance and the other a father daughter dance sung to «I Loved Her First» which also included the groom. Both dances were the hit of the reception and so many people commented how wonderful the dances were. We can’t thank Mark enough for his expertise in taking non dancers and turn them into being able to dance really well. It also was special to do something together prior to the wedding. I would whole-​heartedly recommend Studio 665, Mark and their staff that were so accommodating, professional and outstanding in their training. Mark even taught some dance steps for the entrance of the bride and groom which was fantastic!!! It was a blast!

Studio665 is a real find, there is always a welcome and the classes are offered at every level. Beginners are given time to develop and learn at their own pace, and there is no pressure. Levels gradually increase and soon you are a dancer! Teachers are generous with their time, and they are positive and experienced! I would highly recommend this studio to advanced as well as newbies! This review has to be written… although it saddens me to write poor reviews. My husband and I went for the «Intro lesson» a few weeks ago. I put this in quotes because this was supposed to be a 45 minute dance lesson which is not what we got, and it cost me $ 30. I understand these instructors don’t make millions, so I was ok with paying a fraction of what a private lesson typically costs to test it out (FYI private dance lessons in Ballroom are around $ 90 per/​45 minutes).
All in all didn’t seem like a bad idea going into it.
At first everything seemed acceptable. The studio was sufficient, parking was a little challenging, but not impossible. The owner took a minute from the client he was working with to acknowledge us and seemed friendly… which I appreciated.
Now I always wear my heart rate monitor (god forbid I don’t count a calorie that I burn), so I know for a fact we were only with the instructor for 34 minutes total… including a polite intro and then the sales pitch at the end… which was about 10 minutes. Honestly, I think we «danced» for 20 minutes… what happened to my 45 minute lesson?
Don’t get me wrong the instructor was nice although I’m not sure in the long run he would have been a good fit for us.
Anyway, I essentially paid $ 30 to receive a sales pitch… and not even a good one since we did not return. Maybe I should claim it as a donation! JK.
About a week later I got an email from them with a promo to try a «45 minute lesson» for free. So I’m super glad I wasted $ 30. That should be the deal all the time.
We have since gone elsewhere (there are other places to learn ballroom dancing North of Boston) where we did not get a forced sales pitch and we got to take a 30 minute intro lesson for FREE and it was an actual 30 minute lesson like it was supposed to be and we’ve been returning customers ever since.

It has been three months since Dancing With The Realtors
and I am addicted to Ballroom and Studio 665 ! My instructor is fun and is always pushing me to do my best ! The staff have created a wonderful and friendly supportive atmosphere that makes you feel like part of a circle of friends. The other students, who have all gone through the beginner stage too, are helpful and supportive!!! I have been taking all their technique classes with all the instructors from Studio 665 and find them all professional and help you take your dancing to a higher level!

We started taking ballroom dance lessons last year and then stopped for nine months when my husband injured his knee. We are back and loving it. Our instructor, Zach, is one of the most capable instructors I’ve ever met. I’m always amazed at how he can analyze our dancing and teach us how to improve. He makes it look quite easy. We were dancing after the first lesson and now get kidded by friends and relatives when we dance at functions that we are «showing off.»

This studio not only offers extensive ballroom dance classes but also a variety of others such as Adult Ballet, Cardio classes, and Pilates. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and professional and makes sure they only teach you the best! Great for all sizes, ages and abilities! Once you start dancing here, you won’t be able to get yourself to stop!

Classes are not totally individual since you are all just in different corners of the dance floor and music is shared between every teacher in the room.

We took lessons before our wedding because we didn’t want our first dance to look like we were at a jr. high dance (just moving side to side to the music). Sara was our instructor and she was fantastic!
She was friendly, patient, knowledgeable, and made us feel very comfortable. She worked with the songs we gave her and came up with a simple, yet elegant dance routine.

Do you love Dancing With the Stars? Does So You Think You Can Dance make you want to get your groove on? Then you should try Studio 665. This place is my new addiction.
They have ballroom and latin, performing arts and fitness classes. My instructor, Phillip, is a great coach. He has such a passion for dance that I enjoy and look forward to my sessions with him.
Not only is it fun, it is a great workout. My first time taking cardio salsa, it kicked my butt. Literally. My behind and legs got an amazing workout.
As Michelle points out, Tatiana is amazing teaching Ballet and Pilates.
Most importantly, I love the vibe here. Everyone there is open to newcomers and very encouraging.

A fantastic studio to learn social and competitive Ballroom and Latin dancing as well as Salsa, Swing and Wedding Prep. I consider Mark and Dawna Nocera practically family members I’ve known them for so long. Their cutie-​pie daughters, Charisse and Miranda started ballet and ballroom at the tender age of 3 years old. Talent runs in the family.
Check out their Performing Arts division for a wide variety of adult and kids ballet, jazz and hip hop classes. They also teach Yoga, Cardio Salsa and Pilates classes. Tatiana Obeso, Artistic Director, is an accomplished, Kennedy Fellowship award winning, Principal ballerina. And, she’s really sweet and beautiful, too.
