Ordered a delivery and it was such a mess up! So, so disappointed! Used the online menu-ordered on the phone Salmon Roe(Ikura), got Salmon roll which was warm! Ordered smoked salmon & cream cheese I specified not a Philadelphia roll because I hate cucumber so told him no cucumber. Got cucumber. The tuna roll was warm/hot! When I called to let them know the order was messed up. I was told there was no Ikura on the menu! Remember i spelt Ikura so there would be no mess up. The man then said he had to answer the other phone & put on a woman who did not speak English. Finally I got him back where he blamed me for the mess up. When I asked for refund of the 2 items that I did not order and could not eat he hung up. Called him back where I was told he wasn’t authorized to do a refund only the manager could & the manager was out. This was Saturday night! The manager wouldn’t be in the whole weekend(!). He finally said he would call the manager, I insisted he call me back to let me know I got the refund(only for the 2 items not the whole order). He did call me back, now we wait to check the card so if a refund was actually issued. I will never order or go to Taipei Tokyo.

My first time ordering takeout from here. They have a pretty extensive menu, so it took us a while to decide what we wanted. We ended up ordering Red Sox Maki, Kamikaze Maki, Curry Lo Mein with vegetables, and Tempura Udon Soup. We were a little late picking it up, but the food was still very hot. The maki didn’t fall apart and the pieces weren’t too large. Everything tasted fresh and delicious, the service was quick and easy too. The only downside was that the soy sauce containers spilled out and soaked our fortune cookies, which was fine, because it all spilled inside a sealed bag. I’ll definitely be ordering from here again in the future!

Taipei Tokyo really is as good as it gets in Woburn. The food is fresh and always tastes freshly made(not sitting in a hot plate). I love the Pad Thai. The General Gau’s is the best I’ve had. I love the spring rolls! They have a good buffet with a decent selection of dishes and sushi. When we’ve gone close to the end of the buffet time they package up items left on the buffet for us to take home. In addition, the staff is fantastic! The waitresses always remember us and make us feel welcome. The front desk is friendly and always smiling. The place is clean including the bathrooms. Seriously, it the place to go for Asian food in and around Woburn!

Started the meal with an excellent seaweed salad. Just the right amount of spice and crab. Had the sushi plate. All sushi was fresh although the snapper was not quite as good as the other fish Was very happy to have a nice light lemon cake dessert

Taipei Tokyo is a great little Asian restaurant in Woburn. I’ve had their sashimi on several occasions and it is excellent; the fish is always fresh and intricately prepared. Great special on the House Sake– keep the carafes comin’! My wife always orders the Eggplant Beef and Tofu, which is served to her in a sizzling ceramic pot. Rachel and Stephanie are delightful waitresses, both very kind, attentive, and welcoming. Restaurant is very clean and open.

Great for takeout, service inside is a little slow but no problem. Food is good, prices are reasonable, a good spot for sushi and japanese in the downtown area.

This place is truly a hidden gem. My husband and I have been going to the location in Woburn for years(since it opened) and we also have ordered take out from the location in Davis. We have always been very pleased. What we order: I love their Red Sox maki which is actually pink sushi! My husband loves their lo mein, fried rice and a few chicken dishes. He also loves their crab Rangoon. The atmosphere is fine nothing special but comfortable, clean and the booths at the Woburn location foster a private dinning experience. The service has always been great– everyone is smiling, friendly and happy. I would highly recommend this place and we will continue to go back. FYI — Woburn used to be byob and no longer is. They have a wine list now — and fabulous prosecco!

I have gotten takeout sushi from this place a few times. I don’t see a reason to do so again. As someone else’s earlier review noted, their California roll does not have tobiko(the little orange fish eggs). Their accompanying wasabi and sliced ginger(gari) were not as good as my other usual sushi restaurants provide. Their gari is pink. So my limited choice of sushi has been mediocre the few times I have tried them. 3 Country Bistro is only a few hundred feet away and my experience of their sushi is much better.

We had the fried calamari and crab rangoon appetizers and they were excellent. I had very high expectations based on the appetizers for the sushi rolls. We had spicy tuna, Philadelphia and Angel’s dream maki. They were just okay. I have had much, much better sushi and to be fair, much worse. The service was very nice, but very slow and forgot some items. The restaurant was very cute. For the prices, I would like slightly better sushi. I would go back for another try though. It was average.

The woman at the front desk/on the phone when you call in is the best. So sweet, speaks clearly and efficiently. The Japanese portion of the menu is very good, the Chinese portion is hit or miss. I suggest the pork fried rice and dumplings. The beef lo mein is mediocre. They offer a daily lunch buffet but it is very small and they aren’t quick to refill what is empty. Also there are no labels on any of the dishes so I was left guessing if something was spicy/what was in it. Overall good good but definitely room for improvement.

Having lived in Somerville and Medford for a decade, I’ve been to the Taipei location in Davis Square often for Chinese food, and ordered take-out countless times. So, my husband and I were excited to give their Woburn location a try, and it was a really good experience. When it comes to ambiance, the Woburn location reigns supreme. The restaurant is big, plays soothing Asian music in the background, and a fun modern Asian décor with comfy booths. The staff is just as friendly and efficient. As far as the food goes, I think the Davis Square location might be a little better, but the menu is the same, and the quality is still good. I really liked the crab rangoons, shrimp tempura rolls, and chicken with broccoli dishes. The pork fried rice was too crunchy for my taste, but I’m not sure if that is just how they prepare their rice, or a fluke preparation. I’d be happy to come to this location again, and if you’re looking for solid Chinese food or sushi at decent prices, this is a good option in the neighborhood.

This place shouldn’t be. It’s menu is not expansive enough to be considered an acceptable Japanese restaurant. The ambiance is pleasant and Japanese-inspired, and we found the service to be courteous. While we were expecting hibachi, what we found in actuality was a Chinese restaurant disguised as a Japanese restaurant by offering sushi. The seared blackened tuna was sliced before cooking, and as a result it was a tough, sliced meat that was not blackened but rather was sprinkled with pepper. The sushi rolls we ordered were also unsatisfactory. They were small and the seafood was not tender. The rock’n’roll sushi was very busy and unorganized. We asked that the remainder of our sushi be packaged up because we didn’t like it. The server realized that we weren’t satisfied so she brought over two very horrid desserts to try and turn things around. Long story short, we won’t be returning to this restaurant as there are plenty of other places to go to get better sushi.

Great restaurant. Stopped in for lunch and got the Sushi/Sashimi lunch combination. Salmon and Tuna was very fresh and they give you good size pieces of Sashimi. The menu says the combo comes with assorted sushi/sashimi but they were accommodating when we requested specific fish. Also, the rice used for the sushi and rolls is a good temperature. Not too cold(which I can’t stand). Overall a good experience and I would come back.

Serving 25 people at a private party is no simple feat, especially when each subgroup within that party is paying their own tabs and is ordering off the menu instead of eating from a pre-planned menu. In fact, serving these 25 people who’ve brought their own arsenal of alcoholic drinks is even more difficult when so many glasses are needed and everyone is demanding something every minute. By the way, the BYOB concept was quite helpful in defraying the costs of our large party. I’m happy to say that the servers at Taipei Tokyo Café did a great job serving my party — especially with so many different dietary requirements and different types of food ordered(sushi vs. Chinese vs. Japanese food). Despite the language barrier, I was impressed with the accommodations they provided us; the speed in which food came out; and the assistance they provided for cutting a massive cake at for the group. Speaking of the food, I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. We had everything from sushi and sashimi to chicken katsu, beef with string beans, sesame chicken, wontons, and fried rice. The sushi was fresh and rolls were made very well, while the hot food was cooked to perfection. The only complaints of the night were that they had misunderstood my boyfriend’s dinner order(he’d asked for the coconut chicken and they brought him sesame chicken, but after tasting the sesame chicken, he was fine with not returning the dish); and that the restaurant closed at 11PM. I’d come back just to try out their lunch buffet and the more traditional dishes, now that I’ve had their dinner service. I hope it’s just as good as dinner was.

I ordered for pick up from this place, among other dishes, I ordered a mushroom soup and all I got was close to 2 cups of tasteless broth with 6 slices of mushroom. Seriously??? I was not a happy camper… The sushi was very good, as always. So, for the purpose of being fair; I recommend you to visit this place but, I strongly recommend that you do not order soup unless you are feeling like drinking hot water in table spoons.

A mini-sushi buffet this close to work in Woburn and I no longer need to travel to Reading for it?! SCORE! Yes, this is what brought me in, the promise of sushi at lunch, all you can eat, for about 10 bucks(god, I just sounded like that annoying Golden Corral commercial *smack*). The Chinese food that complimented the sushi was decent as well. I had crab rangoon, fried rice, dumplings and beef/green beans. The sushi was as expected, nothing spectacular but I wasn’t antcipating lobster rolls for lunch. They had California rolls, salmon, sweet potato and tuna… all average. The only slightly upsetting thing was that they close at 2:15 for lunch which imo, is a bit early. We arrived at 2:00 and they stopped making sushi for our table and one other that was filled. I would have had more than about six rolls if it wasn’t for this, but alas the Chinese food was plentiful and we continued to fill up on that. Great for lunch and definitely recommended, I can’t wait to be back in Woburn and return.
