This place was a very delicious place to eat at. Fish was very fresh and always came with free edamame and miso soup. Bathrooms were always clean. The owner was a good friend of the family and your food and hospitality will be missed! Good luck in Pamona!

My go to place when craving sushi! Food has always been great! Quick for work lunch hour and prices are good.

I just got some cheapies — a cucumber roll, a veggie roll and an avocado roll. I was expecting your average, unloved, vegan rolls to come along like at almost every other place. NO WAY were these average, whoa! Best vegan rolls anywhere. The vegetable one was so huge the pieces hardly fit in my mouth. The avocado was the creamiest, high quality avocado you can get. The rice — a pillow of Heaven. I can’t get veggie rolls anywhere else now.

I’ve only ordered take out from this place and every single time I order it’s excellent! It’s always very fresh and always consistent. The Sexy Roll is so good! Their cucumber salad is a great side with the meal. The salmon skin salad always hits the spot! (It’s my fav!) … I order through Grub Hub and it normally takes about 45 minutes or so to arrive. I don’t mind the delivery fee, it’s worth it.
I can’t wait to actually go and dine in, I’m looking forward to it!

California Rolla and Sushi has this special place in my heart. Located on the semi active end of the Promenade Mall (Next to the former Macys, past the dead UWink, next to the furniture store that I have no idea how its still open, you can miss it).
The menu is expansive and delicious, I used to work in this mall and would sometimes phone in an order for pick up, and it was always ready when I would arrive. Prices are a bit higher then some places, but comparable to most sushi places but the level of service and food is good.
My go to is the seared pepper tuna which comes off the Nigiri menu (2 pieces for $ 4.95) but its a piece of seared tuna with some onion on top. It has some sort of vinegary flavor that is delicious.
The eel is also super delicious and I could eat the whole portion by myself. It comes with a sweet sauce that isnt overwhelming and perfectly compliments the baked eel.
Ive also tried the Rainbow Roll which was fresh and tasty. Spider Roll– always delicious.
The biggest surprise was the baked lobster roll. HUGE portion of California rolls with Langostino and a mayo based sauce and mushrooms. It makes almost a gravy that I have never seen before on a baked lobster roll.

The food tasted great and the staff kind but I think msg is used to season food. I’m a migraine suffer so msg is lethal to me. If you’re not sensitive to msg look no further for a yummy and quick bite.

This is absolutely my favorite sushi place! Over the years I’ve brought so many people here and everyone seems to love it! You can sit in the back where it’s normally quieter, the main dining area where it’s normal and outside right in front. The prices aren’t too expensive and the staff is really nice!

I came in to order sushi for take out and let me just say I was appalled by the service. The host was rude and had an attitude. The restaurant seemed slightly busy but that’s no excuse. I don’t know how this place has survived for this long. There are so many great sushi spots with good food and great service. I am never coming back.

This is by far the worst service I have ever had. I am well traveled and have been to many places, never have I ever been treated in such a negative fashion. The quality of food is substandard considering the location it is in and the service is horrible. Today is Christmas and it appears the host/​waiter/​manager named «John» is a very bad under stress. If your having a good time and happen to be educated and well mannered, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! If you own a restaurant, don’t take your anger out on the customers.

It is amazing that I have never reviewed this restaurant before, because I go here A LOT! Part of the reason is that I just haven’t gotten into the habit of writing reviews, but I am trying to do much better with them. That said, California Roll and Sushi is in my neighborhood, and it has been the «go-​to» sushi restaurant for me and my significant other for many years now. Since I’ve only been on Unilocal for about five years, double my number of check-​ins for a true reflection of the number of times I’ve dined here!
First off, the food is really good and it is fresh. Yes, the restaurant is in a mall, but the quality of the food is great and on par with stand alone sushi restaurants. I personally could care less that it is in a mall! The prices are reasonable and the selection of options for sushi and non-​sushi eaters is vast. Within the sushi options, there are so many favorites, I can’t even start to name them all! The restaurant is also able to accommodate larger groups… I’ve been here with 10+ people in my party. My tip is to call ahead and make a reservation so that they can get the tables set up in advance.
The service here is the best! Once you have been to the restaurant a couple of times, the staff remembers your name and you are treated like an old friend. We eat at the restaurant, and we order take out quite often. There has never been a single time that an order has been incorrect. Now, we’ve never tried delivery, and I think there is a third-​party that makes the deliveries, so I can’t speak to their dependability. I can say that I have never had a bad experience here, and I feel like the staff is like extended family.

There sushi was so fresh, it was so good, the portions were very big you got exactly what you ordered very nice people

Excellent sushi with great prices. I must admit, I probably wouldn’t have given this restaurant a go in person since it’s located inside a mall, but their delivery service and decent reviews prompted me to try it out. Glad we did; very fresh rolls and even gave us mini empty soy sauce trays– so thoughtful. The maki yellowtail roll was well marinated. Definitely will order again and eat24 came well before expected delivery time :)

I normally never base an opinion of a restaurant on one bad experience, but I can’t ignore the fact that I ingested parts of a seashell after eating the bscr. I used to love this place, but this oversight has me feeling extremely nauseous. I will not be going here again.

Never again. Currently ordering pizza from another restaurant. My mouth tastes like the radioactive water off the coast of Japan after the nuclear breakdowns.
I ordered for delivery. They called saying my food was sitting there for 30 minutes and that I had ordered for pick up. I told them I could show them the confirmation email for «DELIVERY» and that they need to deliver it. We got the food much later, and it looked as awful as it tasted. We called, and they said that it was bad because it’d been sitting so long. They became combative and argumentative and refused to admit that they messed up. They should have refunded the money.

This place is a great lil hidden Gem in a mall. Great lil atmosphere, great food, prices are good! Its all around great time when i come here! Defiantly if u live in the area and u dot know u shud know! :)

Disclaimer: This is one of my favorite spots in the valley!
Started coming here with good friends and my now husband back in 2005. We were always greeted by the owner back then… fast forward to 10-​years later, he now greets us to ask, when is the baby coming? To which I always respond, if I’m pregnant then I won’t be coming here for sushi! Which is a joke of course, there’s so much more to their menu than raw fish!
Ambiance is cozy with seating for a bigger group in the back and some seating outside of the restaurant (still inside the mall). The outside seating is great for when you want to bring your dog with you. They always give our dog a bowl of water.
Food is fresh! I’ve been to sushi spots all over the valley and this is by far the freshest! They have a good variety of items on their menu as well as pre-​selected combos. Hot Night Roll is on point!
The people who work here are extremely accommodating! With my years of experience coming here, I can attest to how dedicated they are to their work and and consumers.
Bathrooms are super clean!
Can’t go wrong with coming here!

First off: I’m not a sushi fan so if you want to get an opinion on that, you’re going to have to ask my wife.
I did, however, try the teriyaki beef and tempura veggies. The veggies were nothing to write home about. They just didn’t have much flavor to them and left me wanting a little more in the breading. The beef was tasty, but the meal was mostly rice with just a little bit of beef. For what they were charging I would’ve liked to have had a bit more protein in my bowl.
The place is also tucked away in a corner. My wife and I almost didn’t find it since we were admittedly a bit pressed for time since we had a movie to catch. But that’s fine since it meant the place wasn’t crowded and filled with loud customers.
Some people have complained about slow service here. We definitely didn’t experience that. We were seated right away and even when seated in a back corner, our waiter was attentive and always checking in on us. They get solid points for that!
In the end, I’d go back. I might not rush back, but if my wife was ever craving sushi, I’d suggest it as their non sushi options are more so than other sushi places.

The Service: Slow… only saw one staff, one busboy and one manager.
The Food: With Unilocal check-​in, FREE Spicy Tuna Biscuit. Not one piece… whole order!
They also served edamame and miso soup with the sushi orders.
The sushi chef did a good job preparing those sushi rolls. Their happy hour price is a little bit higher compared to other places. Overall, the dinning experience is okay.
The Parking: Mall parking (FREE), use escalator to 2^nd floor near Maggiano’s.

Cali Roll is always my stop before shopping at Westfield mall.
INTERIOR: good for dates and for casual dining.
FOOD: a great variety of rolls, kitchen food, and sushi — and the portions are good! Their uni & oyster shooters are among the best i’ve had, and the sushi is as it should be; light rice and long slices of fish :)
TRY: the sexy roll (very fresh and crisp), the monster roll (a nice crunch and savoriness), dynamite (with extra sauce), and the tempura ice cream =9 nomnomnom.
SERVICE: as with any place, some servers arent top notch, but every time ive gone, ive had excellent service. The owner, John, is always so sweet and ive always gotten more than enough attention (maybe bc my other half is a charmer hehe).
Good news: they just started up deliveries, exciting!
