Greendale Mall

This mall is pathetic… the ceiling has been leaking since I worked in it as a college student in the 90’s. how do they expect to attract and maintain customers when then don’t fix anything? I have continued to go here to the nail salon every month… which thankfully is moving out next month. The ceiling near DSW has no less than 15 buckets on the floor catching rainwater in the middle of the walkway near the food court. The escalator was shut down months ago to save money. Stores continue to close down and there are no apparent efforts to make any investment or improvements to attract new stores or customers. If they kept up the place, it would not seem like a total dump… and maybe they could attract higher volume stores. There was a day that this mall was busy, it’s in an incredibly convenient location, but the feel it has now is that its unsafe, unmaintained and dirty.

I came back to this mall about a weekend ago with a couple of friends, although we didn’t come here to shop, no, rather, we came to pay our respects to a mall that should hopefully soon, be dead and in the ground where it belongs.
I honestly did not think this mall could decline any more since the last time I visited, which honestly, was a few years ago, but there must be a point where the mall owners just throw in the towel and write it off. Walking the halls of this mall almost literally pained me.
If you haven’t read any more recent reviews, allow me to fill you in on exactly what this mall offers. It offers (2) Bling Bling «bling» stores, literally exactly the same, only a chew spit away. It offers a wig store, proudly touting «real human hair wigs» are sold there. There is a furniture store (in a mall, kinda strange.) A cell phone/​electronics repair store, a Big Lots (again, what the hell is this doing at a mall?), a TJ Maxx, and probably the only thing of value at this mall, a Best Buy.
Interestingly though, this mall has a half assed version of an arcade. I didn’t get to visit it though, as I spent my quarters on a couple of year old gumballs, which probably is the biggest money maker at the mall.
The «food court» (and I use this term extremely sparingly) offers a Chinese restaurant and… that’s it actually. Hope you like mall stir fry kids.
If the mall management is reading this, I beg you to please tear down this abomination. I almost feel bad for the mall itself, it just wants to die so badly, but the masochist mall management just tightens its leash on it and lets out a harrowing «NEVER!» at the idea.
On a final note, if you are someone who doesn’t like the Auburn Mall (which, let’s face it, is also pretty pointless in and of itself) just take a quick trip here, you’ll be running to Auburn to kiss the gravel it’s built on.

Holy shit. The worst, of worst, of WORST malls I’ve ever been to!
My boyfriend and I actually went TWICE to this mall over the past weekend, for the sole purpose of playing air hockey.
It seems like this mall used to have other businesses like the Gap and Old Navy, but those have since vacated. What did they have? TWO bling bling fashion stores (both looked the exact same), a really creepy wig shop, «Dollar and Things», very discounted fashion stores of which no one would ever buy anything from EVER, a Hot Topic (we went in out of curiosity since neither of us have been in there since likely 1997… and got asked about 4 times within 2 minutes if we needed any help… the staff were very friendly but I think just too excited to have their first customer of the weekend?), and one suspicious Chinese restaurant in the food court — everything else was closed or shut down. Also, a large number of the stores were just closed, period. like the staff just didn’t feel like coming in?
The only perk as mentioned, was their air hockey table. We played about 5 rounds and it was a ton of fun, but as soon as we tried out skee-​ball a guy smoking either one of those vaping products or an e-​cig started playing with a very small child, so we just left.
The second time we went (the next day) was to get a little more air hockey and to check out upon my boyfriend’s recommendation, DFW shoes, as I was looking for winter boots. They didn’t have exactly what I was looking for and had some brand of boot that said either Dirty Laundry or Prostitute Laundry on the back, I can’t remember, but we left. We were maybe at this mall with a grande total of 6 other people, in the middle of the day.
Ugh. Overall, I’m just REALLY surprised this place still is in existence and is still open, it definitely could use a complete makeover or just torn down completely.

Went to check out this mall. The place was empty with very limited stores. There were a couple of ghetto kids trying to pick up what girls were actually here. I definitely would not recommend wasting your time going to this mall.

Had to use the ATM, the nail salon didn’t take debit cards??? Used the ATM which has a $ 3.00 fee plus because its an obscure one got another $ 2.50 fee from crappy BOA. This mall is barely alive and moving forward we have no reason to go. You can’t have a normal ATM for your few customers?

OMG! What has happened to this place? Its creepy, dirty, empty… sleazy feeling. Other than the great service at lens crafters, I wanted to run out for my life. Its been a good 10 years I’ve been here… Play «Jaws» theme song here — its not safe to go into the water… creepy. This mall needs serious help, serious investors…

The few times I’ve walked in to this mall, I always walked out feeling like I had scabies.
The last time I was in Greendale, there were two cult/​program ladies selling homemade jewelry for their upkeep in their cult/​half way home. They seemed nice and friendly at first, but if you talked more then 10 minutes with them, you would start to get creeped out. There were two ladies at the table and as soon as one ran to the bathroom the other lady talked about the house rules, she wasn’t allowed a phone, no internet, no tv, no radio, no contact with her family, and she talked about how everyone made the jewelry to support the program. She started looking like she was going into a trance talking about how her life had changed since being cut off from the evils of the world. Once her companion came back she stopped talking and started talking about the jewelry again. They made it sound like it was a charity but it wasn’t. It was pretty much a slave/​cult workshop.
Doesn’t surprise me that Greendale would allow a «business» like that to set up tables. By now they probably have a store front.

This mall is a dump, junk stores change every couple of years. Nothing at all here worth going to or shopping at. If they had strippers in the hall ways giving out free t-​shirts I will still struggle with the decision on whether to come here or not.

This is a mall that should probably be torn down. Plenty of empty stores. The food court consists of a lot of empty tables, a Subway, a pizzeria, and Chinese food.
If you are looking for an uninspired shopping experience, then this is for you.

Where does the up and coming Worcester thug or aspiring young prostitute go to loiter and steal? This place. I think last time I was there I saw a discount wig shop. That’s seems to sum it up. Avoid.

Shame on you, Simon Malls. Now Old Navy & The Gap have vacated — if I didn’t love the women at Creative Nails so much — I’d never darken your doors again.

OMG this mall Blows… First off, a gf and I were out on our usual Sat shopping spree & she mentioned this mall. I never heard of it (Im from Boston) she lives in Marlboro, so we decided to take the trip…
We get here & pull in the parking garage — WOO HOO Prime spot right near the door & we get out & load our babies all into strollers, then walk to the door… NO ELEVATOR from Parking Lot to Mall — Only a few stairs but I have a fairly heavy, large stroller… so we have to walk ALL THE WAY around the parking lot structure… That should have been my deciding factor at that point, we should have ran…
We get inside & there is like 3 stores… Childrens Place which IS one of the places we frequent… And Old Navy (who at the time were giving away free cereal boxes. Woo Hoo Free Bran!!)
Then we had to walk all the way back around to leave. Just wasnt a great experience… It was decent if you want a Best Buy & Children’s Place, then you will be all set… Otherwise drive the distance to Solomon Pond or somthing else in the area…

The only decent place I’ve been to in this mall was the Best Buy — and that’s the only reason I’m giving the mall as a whole 2 stars.
The stores seem to be randomly strung together — I can’t see myself really shopping at any of them, and it’s strangely small for someplace I would call a «mall.»
Definitely not recommended.

I was torn whether to give this place 1 or 2 stars. On one hand, it’s a small, fairly clean indoor shopping mall that has parking and surprisingly is filled to capacity with stores. On the other, I was looking over my shoulder and wondering how the shoppers there were somehow able to afford to buy stuff in this place. Also, there is 1 set of bathrooms in the entire mall and the custodian shuts it down like an hour before the mall closes. So when you eat at their crappy food court, you can’t even use the bathroom or get some water. There has got to be some foul play to permit a mall, albeit small, with just one set of bathrooms much less shutting it down so the custodian doesn’t have to clean it up with people actually using it. I did like the TJ Maxx and they’ve got a Best Buy but it’s the shabbiest looking Best Buy constructed. Unless they’ve expanded into the Congo. Anyways, if you’re shopping at a mall, you’re probably already disappointed in yourself. Save yourself the risk of Hep C and find another place to shop. Unless you’re a teen, tween, or d-​bag looking for a teen/​tween. Probably not a bad place to go beserk and end your life on a shooting spree.

This mall caters to short young people with tiny size bodies. Any stores that can actually fit normal people are very few. One anchor store has already closed and I noticed that a few smaller ones have vanished. It is so one sided… no good mix of styles and gender… Is there even a men’s store in this mall? I go for Best Buy and TJ Max and that’s about it. Good luck tiny mall… I hope you make the recession.

The Greendale Mall is really unofficially known as the ghetto Worcester mall. Lets just say that most of Greendale’s patrons are of the Hip Hop loving variety. The mall is quite tiny, there aren’t many worth while stores here but without the mall the area of Worcester would be lacking that something extra that I think the mall brings.
Greendale mall actually has Best Buy in it and I’ve been here solely for Best Buy so many times that I sometimes forget theres a mall attached to it. I think this is the only Best Buy in quite a few miles so Greendale is your Best Buy location, which is convenient because most of the Mall’s parking lot is bordering the store.

This mall shouldn’t even get one star. Can we give 0 stars? Negative stars? I’d rate it at about a negative 4.
I grew up shopping at this mall since it was the closest one to my house. Way back then, it had a Gap, a Limited, Marshall’s, TJMaxx/​Homegoods, EMS, Lechmere, Bath and Body Works and my childhood favorite, the Dream Machine arcade. Pretty decent shopping for suburbia, and enough entertainment for a kid while her mom went shopping.
Cut to today, when the Gap has turned into a Gap outlet, the Limited is a crappy sports jersey store, TJMaxx/​Homegoods continually declines in quality, and the EMS, Lechmere and Dream Machine are all gone. There are more empty storefronts in this mall than any I have ever seen, and it sure doesn’t look like anything is coming in anytime soon. Although there is now a Best Buy and an Old Navy, you can be sure that they are likely two of the lowest-​grossing stores for the chain. No one goes here.
Well, except for me when I was stuck at home without a pair of black flats, and needed the crappiest DSW in the country to rescue me. It did, thank goodness, but don’t count on the Greendale Mall to provide anything else.
