Kim’s Hapkido Yucaipa is associated with the Jang Mu Won Hapkido Association. The techniques thought by the Jang Mu Won Association are based on the principles founded by Grandmaster Chong Sung Kim. Jang Mu Hapkido emphasizes timing and precision in the execution of techniques with great devotion to detail. Grandmaster has often stated that the difference between mediocre technique and outstanding, effective technique is paper thin. Jang Mu Won Hapkido teaches techniques that are readily applied by students in any situation.
History
Established in 1992.
The Kim’s Hapkido Yucaipa location has had its doors open to the community of Yucaipa since 1992. The Yucaipa branch was originally opened by the late Mr. Chris Cino, after losing Mr. Cino in the year of 2003, Mr. Esparza assume the position of chief instructor in 2004. Mr. Esparza continues to operate the Yucaipa branch today with over 20 years of Hapkido experience.

Mr. Esparza is a certified 5th degree black belt under the Jang Mu Won Hapkido Association. Mr. Esparza started his training in Hapkido in 1993 at the South Pasadena studio. There he trained under the instruction of Master Han Woong Kim son of Grandmaster Chong S. Kim. Mr. Esparza was an instructor at the S. Pasadena studio from 1997 to 2001. In 2001 Mr. Esparza decided to serve his country by joining the United States Marine Corps. While in the Marine Corps Mr. Esparza was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal for his outstanding leadership and performance during his deployment to Iraq. Mr. Esparza Also achieved the rank of Sergeant and a certificate of good conduct before being Honorably discharged from the service. During his time in the service Mr. Esparza continued his training with Master Han Woong Kim. At the end of his Marine Corps career Mr. Esparza decided to dedicate his life to teaching Hapkido.
