La Fuente Inn & Suites

When I arrived I almost cancelled my reservation as the lobby has a really horrid odor. I felt sorry for the people working there… it really turned my stomach to stand in the lobby!
I decided to check the room as I’d already paid for the room through Expedia. Glad I did as the room was satisfactory. It had been recently updated and didn’t have the horrid lobby odor.
They offer a happy hour. The room is in the same building as the lobby. You can guess what happened when I walked in… I inhaled, did an about-​face and made a rapid exit. No way to even check out what they offered. It was so rancid smelling! I assume they offer the continental breakfast in the same place. No breakfast for me!!!
It really is a shame as the pool area is large and nice. The rooms are not bad. But the odor will keep me away forever!

Perfect for our one night stay! Clean! Safe! We even stayed on Christmas Day and everyone up front was super nice!

Based solely on the rave reviews of La Fuente, hubby and I decided to book a weeklong stay. We asked for a handicap accessible suite. Here is where it all fell apart for me – from the get go! :-/
First off, I avoid leaving less glowing reviews about places, because I think I’m a nice person for the
most part. But I am leaving a negative review for a specific room (#101), which the hotel put us in. If this was their handicap accessible room, what the H to the capital H! Carpet was stained, stained, did I say stained, throughout. Wheelchair could barely maneuver around, barely could squeeze between the king bed and the tv stand, and you basically have to
make square turns (meaning sharp) just to go straight into the so-​called accessible super tight bathroom. What you would get was a tub, and a shower chair to put inside the tub, and a regular shower head (not a shower hose you can pull down).
The front desk staff was kind enough to offer a view of the deluxe suite. Slightly better, but I knew I would not maneuver around the room, or put up with the discomfort for a week (especially since we had just checked out of Homewood Suites and the only reason we couldn’t extend our stay here was because they were booked. Please see my separate review).
I am disappointed not to be able to experience the upsides of staying here such as the breakfasts and the free drinks during happy hour (almost every review mentioned the drinks as a huge plus!), but I am leaving this review in order to specifically send a message to
people with mobility issues. Caveat emptor. I am
hugely saddened that La Fuente is not thinking to make their accessible rooms as impressive as their regular ones, or they thinking that handicapped people deserved less in the room amenities? Definitely not good.
Remember, this is just a review of Room 101. Avoid at all costs! And if you have mobility needs, you are basically SOL. Go to Holiday Inn instead (we booked ourselves in room 108, the accessible room above par)

Oh man I LOVE this hotel! Stayed there last year (when I searched hotels in Yuma on Unilocal) and stayed there again this past weekend. Very friendly staff, very clean rooms and pool with a jacuzzi.
They have FREE happy hour drinks every night from 5pm to 7pm, and a very good free breakfast in the morning.
The price of the rooms are not bad at all, especially with the free drinks– LOL!
This is the only hotel I will go to when I go to Yuma AZ :)

The hotel is a kind of party spot for folks that like to let loose. The happy hour, that runs from 5 – 7 everyday gives out free drinks and that winds up being a primer for a lot of the guests. At 2:30 in the morning many of the guests had kept drinking and were going wild, making all kinds of noise and one of the drunks even mistook my door for their’s and tried to get in, laughing hysterically the whole time.
This hotel does some things really well and others not so much… The stafff is very friendly and accommodating. The wait staff at the free breakfast and the happy hour staff were excellent also. They have a beautiful pool and built in barbeques that were used to the hilt. If you like to join in with that type of crowd this is great but if you like to get some rest after a long drive I’d think twice. The rooms were ok, nothing special and the location was excellent, right off the major freeway and surrounded by several great places to eat.

Another great stay here (although for work) this place always seems to make business travel that much sweeter…
I don’t know… An awesome huge pool, sparkling in the sun, surrounded by palm Trees, a great happy hour (free drinks) nightly from 5 to 7, yes drinks like Bloody Mary’s… And stiff ones at that…
A great complimentary breakfast with waffle maker, fresh cut strawberries with whipped cream! AND let’s talk about the staff! Most hotels should model their customer service after the ladies whom work here at La Fuente; always smiling, helping and friendly…
Now… I am gonna warn ya that the hotel rooms are looking pretty out dated and worn since the last time I visited here. So expect clean but now expect worn out…
I was told that there was a change in ownership within the last year, and that there were plans to start revamping the rooms… But none the less, the customer service, complimentary happy hour and breakfasts seem to have gotten even better.
So when in town for business, I will continue to choose La Fuente!
Side note: This is a pet friendly hotel for animals under 50 lbs, with a pet fee of twenty five dollars.

Older property but well maintained. Beautiful courtyard and pool. Basic motel, clean and comfortable but A/​C, décor, etc. is clearly aged. Good value overall.

Happy with happy hour & breakfast. We would stop again in a heart beat note, no elevator, worth the i convince! Sally & Paul

Great location, nice rooms, with refer, microwave, coffee, BarBQ, jacuzzi, great pool with cabanas, full cooked breakfast. Mgr cocktail reception for 2 hours. Always a fun time. And the price is excellent.

Well this is my new go to place in Yuma. The room was in great shape. (and I mean more that just rectangular) Came with micro wave and refrigerator, BBQ’s available just outside, Free drinks and pizza and popcorn at happy hour, nice breakfast with bagels and juice. Roomy! interior courtyard is pleasant and private. walking distance to the next door circle K and more. Value, nice staff, clean and easy in and aout. Surrounded by everything and if didn’t catch on I liked it! So we will be back for sure, when I come to Yuma. Now when am I coming back to Yuma? Now that is the real question…

We stayed overnight while returning from a family Christmas gathering in 2014.
The room was spotless, well appointed and well supplied, and as we arrived at around 5 pm, we discovered that the Inn had a great (free drinks!) and well attended happy hour in progress. The courtyard is lovely, nicely landscaped, and well kept. The staff was very friendly and very helpful, going out of their way to assist us. Our room had a single king bed and was around $ 70 with tax; a tiny bit expensive by our standards for this town, but well worth it for the pleasing ambience, helpful service, and cleanliness of the place. We will definitely stay here on our future trips through Yuma.

Ok, the motel was clean and roomy and the courtyard was nice but, let’s face it, this is not one of the newer hotels that we’ve gotten used to. Underneath it all it is still an older motel with an old smell and feel, if you know what I mean. Just thought I’d warn y’all.

This is really a great hotel for the price you pay. The rooms are clean, cool and the maids do a great job at servicing the rooms. The hotel parking is lot was never crowded and we always found parking close to our room. Free Happy hour cocktails daily from 5−7pm and free breakfast from 5−9am. Staff is very friendly and welcoming. Great experience!

Love this place. Go-​To place to stay on the way to SoCal on the I-​10. Well run, locally owned. A nice breakfast is included in the room price. Rooms are clean and roomy. Staff friendly. Close to the 10 and nearby restaurants.

They have lowered their rates recently so we decided to try it. We come through often. We were pleasantly surprised. Room was well appointed and comfortable. Even though this is at a busy intersection so close to the freeway, the noise was not a factor in our restful sleep. Having a fan is wonderful too, if you don’t want to run the AC while you sleep. If you do, it is a pretty quiet AC unit.
The Pros: Location (near everything) Affordable (reasonable rates), Hot/​cold breakfast included as well as a good happy hour with appetizers, popcorn, beer/​wine or spirits. Grounds are lovely even though it is an older property, rooms are updated with comfy bedding, flat-​screen TVs (ours was not HiDef but the one in the eating room was). Ambiance is good, lots of trees and brush, nice, large pool with covered areas for shade and loungers, and a great BBQ area with tables for eating outside. Parking is easy and free. WiFi is free and easily accessible throughout the grounds.
Rooms do have a fridge (yay!) a microwave, coffeemaker and desk for your laptop. Counter top in the dressing area is roomy enough for his/​and hers.
The cons: Not many. There is no elevator, but this is only a 2-​floor facility so ask for a room on the first floor if climbing is a problem for you. There is no jacuzzi in the pool area. No magnifying mirrors, nor enclosed closet, just a rack for your clothes.
La Fuente Staff was friendly, the guests well behaved too. We enjoyed our stay and will be back.

LOVE this place. Was prepared to stay at the nearby hotel where our business meetings are held (which has gone downhill), but got an email from, I think, TripAdvisor, about this place. Called to make a reservation and was really impressed with the friendly staff. (I had checked our the website beforehand as well). On arrival, same friendly staff. Room is immaculate, spacious, has everything I need, even if I were staying longer. Love the ceiling fan and the lush green courtyard outside. Happy hour is a nice touch that adds to how reasonable the room rate is. Looking forward to breakfast. Appreciate that it starts at 5, I’m an early riser!

Someone here really knows how to run a hotel!
La Fuenta is nicely located near, but not too near, the interstate. It is a property large enough to offer a lot, but not too large.
The staff was professional and welcoming and helpful. The rooms were very clean and didn’t feel like they were designed by a corporate committee. The courtyard area was beautifully landscaped and had a large pool and very nice hot tub in the middle.
The reasonable price includes happy hour and breakfast. The happy hour has snacks on weekdays and free drinks every evening. Breakfast is complete and nice and you can sit outside in the lovely courtyard.
Why can’t all hotels be like this?

I was quite pleased, especially considering the significant price break I was able to negotiate. They graciously allowed our dogs to stay with us as well for only $ 25 extra per night (which given the price gouging at other Yuma hotels was a steal). The suite that we stayed in even had a sofa bed and private bedroom so we wound up sharing a room with our mother-​in-​law instead of needing two rooms.
Would definitely stay there again. Would have loved to go in the pool and relax for a while longer but we had to get on the road.
