Shilo Inn Hotel & Suites Yuma

My stay at the hotel was less than 12 hours. Thank God. The positive was the front desk guy who was very cool. The rest not so cool. The room smelled bad and the bed sucked. A lady in the elevator said she had just changed rooms. I asked her if her room smelled bad and she unloaded about how bad it was. She was there for 5 nights. I just sucked it up and did my overnight. I could’ve had the same room at the Motel 6 or Super 8 for less money.

Old school cool! Such dramatic décor from the early 90’s. It’s fun and a bit nostalgic to walk into the lobby with the deep vaulted ceiling, grandiose glass chandler and mirrored column’s with smoked glass décor. The pool is enormous and has a handy rack of fresh towels poolside! You can tell this place isn’t in it’s hay day (restaurant and bar are closed) but all the perks of a luxury resort are intact and functional including a sauna, jacuzzi and gym. My room had fun vintage metallic palm frond wall paper, a/​c that turned the hot June desert climate into arctic living quick, and a couple of premium TV channels. The staff were insanely helpful and accommodating. I confess I asked a lot this stay. They never made it about money, they were quick to respond and getting a «yes, i can do that, no problem» was such a pleasant experience (thank you Richard). Oh… and the price… Crazy affordable! The only reason this place doesn’t get five stars is a bit of rust and a squeaky elevator but to me it’s just a nod to a glamorous past that makes it adorable in the present. Will stay here again, for sure!

I just stayed the weekend at Shilo Inn in Yuma Az. I had such a great experience and they allowed my large dog with no problem. The pool, sauna and exercise rooms were AWESOME. ! So close to downtown Yuma. At the desk Jason was great.!! Great help with sll my questions snd Enrique Lopez, House Person, was there whenever we needed him. Except this was such s great place we had all we needed. Thanks you two for making our stay such a pleasent one.!! I will be back again. And the rooms were comfy and clean.!! Stayed here last year and it has gone down hill dramatically. Lots of differed maintenance. There’s peeling paint in spots on the exterior. The elevator creaks and groans. Their Unilocal listing has a check in offer of 10% off, which they would not honor, because I used an online booking. How could I know about the offer until I checked in? I come to Yuma AZ every year, but will never stay here again. There’s a Best Western across the street which would be a better value for your money.

Large family get together. We booked over 70 rooms. Hotel was at capacity. But when it came to the free breakfast on Sunday morning. The kitchen staff did not keep up on the needs of the patrons. No coffee, no milk for cereal, ran out of eggs sausage and all breads. Was over an hour between kitchen staff coming to replenish items. Other than that room is okay, medium to low budget

We went to Northern Arizona for business and had time to go to Yuma to see my Aunt for a day. We decided to book this hotel since we had been on the road for 3days. When we arrived it was late. We were greeted by a nice guy at the front desk. The lobby was nice, with a beautiful chandelier! The guy at the desk told us a little bit about the hotel and said it was the first one in Yuma. You could tell it was the first one in Yuma by the décor. It was a little outdated and needs a major facelift! The carpets are old and it needs to get a little TLC with some new paint and carpet. There is a musty smell in the hallways of this hotel, but for the most part the room was huge and had a nice feel to it. It was very relaxing and the bed was very comfy I did not want to get up in the morning. We stayed on the first floor and could sit on the patio with nobody bothering us. We did get to talk to a nice employee by the name of Mitchell. He asked how our stay was and offered to be of any help if needed. Mitchell was very personable and very friendly and customer service oriented. We had a great breakfast in which included cream cheese and a beagle with juice and coffee and cereal and milk with a piece of fruit. My husband also had a yogurt. The price was awesome and a lot cheaper with great employees and a comfy bed and a clean room. I will stay here each time I come to visit my Aunt in Yuma Arizona!

Hands down my favorite place to stay in Yuma! I come here at least 5 times a year of not more and I’ve never had a bad experience. Comfortable beds always clean and they have a great selection of channels to watch on tv if you’re lounging in your room. Breakfast here is a real treat always popping hot with delicious options and its endless… what could be better? Make sure you keep your eyes peeled for Donna the front desk attendant she is so friendly and kind, I look forward to chatting with her every time I stay she makes me feel at home don’t forget to check out the big pool and hot tub and bonus they have laundry services available as well as a gym! Can’t go wrong with this place!

I give it 3 ½ stars. I call this an old, well-​maintained dump. It’s not really a dump. It’s just old. However, it is very clean. No bugs, no trash, nothing. The hotel is aging, but it’s large, cheap, and has a great pool (which is kept at 89 degrees). You get a decent free breakfast and free Wifi. We stayed two nights in April for a grand total (including tax) of $ 157 (a room with two queen beds). Let’s be frank: this hotel is for people looking to save a buck. You’ll save a buck, won’t run into seedy characters, and won’t be bitten by bed bugs. Not a bad place to stay.

Very nice but a bit older hotel. The bed was actually pretty comfortable and the room was very clean. Bathroom was a but small but it did it’s purpose. The service to check in was great but the after mat not so good. The last day, I asked for an extra towel and the housekeeping lady wasn’t very happy about it. Walked towards from desk and realize she was the employee of the month or quarter. Checked-​out and the guy at the front desk took the key back but made no eye contact or thanked us for our stay. Not surprised at that point. His side conversation was a bit more important I guess. Overall room was good customer service could improve.

We come to Yuma three or four times a year for a weekend. First time have we stayed here but will be back. They allowed us to have our dog with a reasonable rate. This place it a little tired and dated however the customer service makes up for it and the grounds were beautiful. Donna at the front desk was very accommodating and helpful. Shopping and restaurants very near by.

Not a hotel that I would recommended at all! The Shilo Inn, in Yuma, AZ needs a major face lift and that is an understatement. It smells something awful! You can tell the carpets have not been cleaned and need to be replaced in a bad way. I’d hate to know when the last time the windows have had any type of cleaning solution on them not to mention there were no screens in the window! I feel the hotel is false advertising as it advertises a restaurant and lounge and neither are there! There is only one elevator and it is very slow and very small… shocked on this as the hotel is so big! A very big disappointment for our vacation!

Great value for the price. Rooms are big and clean but outdated. Not a big deal for me. The front counter clerk, Donna, was very friendly and accommodating. The bonus of a continental breakfast was very nice too. Had plenty of choices from cereal, toast, muffins, bagels, to a make your own sausage and egg biscuit sand which. Overall a great place to stay and if I travel to the Yuma area again I will definitely be coming here.

Older property, time to remodel. Much better hotels in area. Try another.

Clean perfect for stopping and getting a good night sleep. Shower strong with plenty of hot water. Getlemam working the late night shift was super nice we stayed because we called all other places and he seemed the nicest. Worth it and such a great deal !

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Shilo Inn numerous times over the past year. We’ve tried other hotels in the area but continually come back to the Shilo. I will start by saying the establishment is dated but well kept. Each and every experience has been exceptional. You pay a reasonable nightly rate for large rooms, great amenities, a generous continental breakfast and friendly service. The staff is very accommodating, truly the best we’ve experienced in Yuma. I would like to give a special THANK YOU to Donna for your continual hospitality!

The room way pretty spacious and everything was really clean but the room and the bathroom smelled, not dirty but old.
When we checked in the lady at the front desk was so nice. They had lots of food for breakfast. When we checked out the guy at the front desk wasn’t very friendly, he wasn’t rude, it was like he didn’t want to be there.
I payed 70 something plus tax for a room with two queen beds. Every other hotel around there charged around 100 for the same thing. If you want to pay a little more you probably get a better quality stay at a different hotel.
I got what I payed for. Bottom line, it was so so.

Updated from 1 star to 2 since manager sent a thoughtful reply to my first review. I still recommend watching Hotel Impossible. Maybe upgrade the 4^th floor rooms and charge $ 20 more for them. Flat screens, a few snacks, and white glove cleaning. Good luck!

For the price, the room is a good deal. Spacious and clean with a comfortable bed. What more do you need for a good night’s rest.
The continental breakfast was more than a little disappointing. The packs of yogurt were frozen. They ran out of cream cheese for bagels and the staff didn’t seem to care at all when it was pointed out. One of my pet peeves is when you express some concern and the person gives you that «not my job, not my problem» attitude. Drives me nuts.
