A favorite when we are driving through Yuma to either go to San Diego or get back home for several reasons(and even though it is roughly 2.5 miles off the freeway) — How does a fast food joint get 4 stars? Here is how: 1. For some reason, the service at this Sonic is always consistently great when you ‘dine in’ your car. Always super friendly and accommodating. 2. The food, while it pretty much tastes the same from Sonic to Sonic is solid… good burgers, delicious ice cream/shake type treats 3. If you travel with pets, more specifically your dog — what better way to dine than in car at Sonic? 4. This Sonic always has super clean bathrooms 5. If you are road tripping it, one of the cheapest gas stations in town is right down the street at the light — literally 25 – 40 cents cheaper a gallon than the stations right off I8. Thank you Yuma Sonic, you’re awesome!

J and I came here for dessert on our way home from visiting my family in Arizona. I think he was determined for me to have something from Sonic because(I’m pretty sure) I’d never been to one before. J got tots and Ocean Water. He insisted I try the tots, claiming that they’re the best. I was skeptical, but he was right. I can’t remember having had tots so tasty and perfect before. The Ocean Water was aight. Reminded me of the alcoholic drank, L.A. Water. He got me their Oreo cheesecake milkshake. I feel like the Oreo bits should be bigger so the Oreo taste isn’t overpowered and lost by everything else. But it was still good. The staff was friendly, and since the place was empty, we got our order fairly quickly. Overall, this visit makes me wish there were more than two Sonic locations in San Diego County.

Not impressed. Quite pricey for what you get… Go to In-and-Out or Jack-in-the-Box instead!!!

Love this Sonic. It’s my favorite pit stop on my way to Phoenix. Tater tots and coke. Yum! Their burgers were better than I remembered, too. Forgot to ask for ketchup packets, that bad was all mine. Yay for Sonic!

I don’t know why folks in San Diego County would torture themselves for a Sonic experience, by waiting 45 minutes to just get in the danged parking lot. But, I was curious enough to see what the food was all about. A pit stop in Yuma, on my way to Phoenix, told me that I’m glad I didn’t attempt what so many other San Diegans were crazy enough to do — wait for a spot in a ridiculously crowded parking lot to see people deliver your food on wheels. For the Yuma location: Food — MEH. Service — even more MEEEEEH. The first Sonic experience left me not impressed. And, yes, there was a 2nd Sonic experience, on my return trip back. I didn’t want to go, but my dad did. He wanted to check out the jalapeño cheese poppers. I just settled for a milkshake, as it was recommended by my cousin Theo B. Taking his advice, I ordered a simple strawberry milkshake. Somehow, the staff managed messed up my order TWICE. I gave up any hope that they’d actually get my order right on the third try. WTF? Reality check: I wouldn’t put myself through the torture, again. I’m better off getting an In ‘n Out burger. They’ve yet to mess up any of my strawberry milkshake orders. And for the record — double-double FTW!
