Nothing ruins my day like paying for a bad cup of coffee! Believe me when I say that this will not happen here! First time in this morning and I was greeted by a friendly barista into a very cool espresso bar. No loud music pumping like most coffee shops… I actually felt a beautiful vibe of sipping coffee in Europe! First sip was like Italian Heaven! I will definitely go back!

Having just arrived back from a NEUSA trip, I was desperate to reaquaint myself with Australian coffee. They just don’t get it in the States! Caparezza was the perfect venue to do this. The coffee is divine! Perfect temperature, flavour and texture with service that is excellent. Like the lively venue in James place too. It’s a 3 km walk from home for me but I’m now a regular.

A real hive of activity. The service was great. The staff were very friendly. I was asked ehat I was after and the young lady offered a couple of suggestions. I had the Italian sausages with bread. The tastiest food. Simply devine. The coffee was good. What a great little find. I will come back here again.

A peace of Italy in James Place… I decided on coffee from this place this morning and was I surprised. In I walk I wait I look behind the counter there are donuts but not donuts Italian style the type you would fine in Italy… the long counter for taking coffee standing or propt on a stool. Glance around to see a cozzie little dinning area… spectacular. Men in white shirts and black ties making coffee… outstanding. The panini oh my lord… coffee is ready must exit this beautiful place and head back to work Mental note: need to do lunch here… a little Italy I will be back

There’s a reason Caparezza has grown so quickly. The food and coffee on offer is exquisite and, as everyone else has mentioned, the service is even better.

I adore Caparezza — it’s a little slice of Italy right here in Adelaide. The coffee is excellent, as is the chai and hot choccies. The meals are reasonably priced, delicious and served quickly(ah…hands up who *doesn’t* love table service in this day and age?!). But its the banter with Phil(the owner) that gives this café a family feel(his mum is in charge of the kitchen, and I have seen his dad looking after table service at times, too). Don’t get me wrong, Caparezza is anything but a homey enterprise: the staff are very well dressed(crisp white shirts, black tie, tie tucked in shirts secured with a tie pin, black pants), and the café itself is well-organised, classy and spotless. Caparezza is — without a doubt — now my favourite place for coffee in Adelaide. And it’s not just the coffee that makes it so good.

There are some days, where you just want or need to sit down and sip at the perfect cup of coffee that is strong and full of flavour. If you’re anywhere within the vicinity of Rundle Street, I’d even go as far to say if you are as far south as Grote Street and in need of a nice, robust coffee head to this gem of a place in James Pl. Caparezza is just one of those places that I’ll most definitely go out of my way to visit and you should too. The staff, assumingly of Italian background are an absolute delight to chat to and the service was some of the best I have come across in Adelaide(even if I am of Italian background myself!) All are so passionate about their work and everything is done in a delightfully quick fashion. The charm, and ambiance of the place is fantastic too, somewhere you’d suggest to a friend of where to meet up in town. Do yourself a favour and call in to Caparezza the next time you’re in town. Certified organic as previously mentioned and oh so lovely. I can’t wait until the next time I call in!

It’s a tad more expensive than some places, but damn it’s good coffee. They’ve also recently branched out next door with some great deli food. Certified organic and done in a beautifully modern, but classically Italian way. Definitely somewhere to check out for your coffee break from slaving away at the nearby Black Stump or Westpac buildings.

From now on I am only ever taking coffee served by a well groomed, dark haired and dark eyed, 5 o’clocked shadowed, Italian accented man in a white shirt, black tie and black apron. Like walking into a modern Italian deli in the middle of Rome, Caparezza is a tiny café with a big heart on James Place. This place has now expanded from a stand up Italian coffee bar to also include a delicatessen next door. The deli serves up snacks and tapas platters from its refrigerated glass cabinet of cold meats, antipastos and pre-made, home made Italian ciabbatta rolls that, when being toasted, smell like salty, salumi heaven on a stick. However, they are now also serving pasta, salads and a small lunch menu. All things on my list«to try» in the near future. The coffee here is served quick and, although they don’t use Bonsoy, the coffee is so tasty that it gives you the right kick in the pants to get the morning started. Caparezza has spoilt me with its charm, suave, crisp white professionalism with a hint of cheek and flirt that makes you dream of the next time you get a coffee and an Italian donut or patisserie treat on the run. Let alone gaze dreamily into the eyes of the next barista to serve you there.

You heard it first here folks… this is the COOLEST new hip, happening place in Adelaide. I stumbled across this one by accident and I absolutely love it. The staff are cool & dressed immaculately. It is oh so Italian. It is small, tiny in fact… Renovations for and expansion are underway, and I am looking forward to the new products that this will bring with it. I was impressed with the fit out, it has been done with style and the consumer in mind, this is the direction that all Adelaide lanes and shops should be taking. Indulgence available in quick tiny little doses, the perfect way to break up your working day. Great coffee, simple but tasty Italian sweets and lunches. It is a must visit!!!
