There’s a song in The Simpsons that Homer sings that goes«Sun-shine, lollipops and, rainbows, everything that’s won-der-ful is what I feel when, weeeee’re together.» Well, that’s how I feel whenever I’m at Pam’s. It’s always mid-morning, it’s always sunny, I’m always sitting out on the pavement with my dog one side of me and someone else’s dog on the other, Pam is always running around smiling and chatting with her regulars or brewing up tasty coffees on her giant, old-fashioned beautiful steel battleship of a coffee machine. Super easy place to while away a good couple hours.

This little family-run café is a good stop for brekkie, lunch or afternoon tea if you are in the area. I went by recently for brunch with a friend and took to the outdoor seats under the shade of their massive umbrellas. Our waitress was quick to take our order — we shared a bagel with the classic combo of smoked salmon, cream cheese, capers and finely sliced red onion. The meal could have done with a few more capers for flavour, but no matter as it was a decent size for the $ 10 price tag. We hung around for quite a while, even moving onto a second round of coffees. The lovely owner came out at one point with two little glasses of lemon sorbet, totally on his own accord, which I thought was really generous. The staff were really pleasant and the prices very reasonable too, so I’d be happy to come back here again.
