Limor’s has been sitting in my Bookmarked Businesses for a little while now, so when I was in the area looking for dinner, it was an easy choice. I was surprised walking into Limor’s, it was larger on the inside than I had anticipated and had a mezzanine level which was for events– and happened to have an event in full swing that evening. Due to the size of the site, everything echoed, making it rather uncomfortable for the diners below, who were exposed to the sometimes inappropriate music and comments of the patrons above. The service at Limor’s is standard. You’ll be taken to your seat and given water. You’ll be attended to the average amount of times and food will be cleared when you are done. They will also try up sell coffee and dry looking cake to you to invite you to leave. The service is absolutely nothing to write home about, neither is the décor. I don’t even think I could describe it to you because it all fades in to the background. In general, the overall feel of Limor’s is ‘High School Cafeteria.‘ So we ordered, some sort of main that consisted of meat and chicken shish, two sides being chips, salad or vegetables. We opted for Vegetables and substituted chips for rice. This was lost when explaining to the waiter(third different for the evening) as he just took off the chips, and charged for additional rice. I was on a date, so there was no sense complaining at the counter. But honestly– standard stuff here. The meat and chicken shish were perfectly seasoned, excellently cooked and generously portioned. The skewered veggies were cooked well but under seasoned. The«salad» was not dressed. Oh and the side plate of rice was over cooked. Take from that what you will. We also ordered Cabbage Rolls which came with Israeli Salad. No. Just, no. The layers of cabbage were too thick and the bottoms were burnt, literally black. The filling was okay, too much rice not enough meat and vegetables. The salad was good. They dressed this one. Two mains cost us just under $ 50 and to be honest I was a little embarrassed I suggested the place. The atmosphere took away from our dining experience and the cuisine itself really did not have enough redeeming qualities to make me ever want to return unfortunately. All in all, I think you could do better and so could they.

Used to be a regular here, especially when I was a fat, fatty! The portions are huge and the salad and falafel are delicious. Used to be quite a bit cheaper hence me not going so much anymore. Avoid the pork ribs, the BBQ sauce is amazing on all of he grilled items but the ribs sometimes have that very strong flavour which I find quite repulsive. Be ready for plenty of calorie and maybe maybe some heart burn. Most highly recommend the falafel platter.

Renovated, but a little drafty. Funny staff. Huge platter servings and delicious chicken schnitzels and ribs. It’s ok to OD on the BBQ sauce here!

Not been here in ages(live out of town) but its always one of the first places on my list to visit for great food and impressive portions. I’m not one for over eating but I must say I love a good feast and its certainly one thing you get here. Best enjoyed in a small group and lots of laughter. BBQ dishes and traditional foods … Amazing!

As others have commented(and anyone who has been here will agree) the portions are huge and there is just no way you can leave here without being stuffed to your eyeballs and laden with doggy bags. I’ve been here countless times over the years, and more recently for their Neptune seafood platter which three grown people couldn’t finish. Not only are the portions gigantic, but everything I’ve ever had has been delicious or better. Yes, the décor will make you feel like you are naked without a neon green scrunchie and high-tops, but Limor’s is anything but rundown. In fact, you’ll quickly appreciate that this long-gone decade is preserved here in understated but pristine condition for your enjoyment. Note that this Caulfield fixture is Israeli(not Kosher) and suitable for take-out dinners for one(to last you a week), large groups, and everyone in between. Also note that the calamari rings are to die for, as will be any crumbed dish you can get your hands on. Mmmmm!

Forget what you’ve heard about Israel on the news, this place will tell you everything you have to know. Limor’s isn’t a restaurant, it’s an institution of kosher proportions. It has been around for absolute decades, and hasn’t changed since the day it opened(you can decide if that’s a positive or a negative). Enter the space and you’re greeted with 80s décor, crazy, disorganized staff and enormous feasts that spill over family-sized tables. Don’t take the staff’s behaviour as rudeness, they’re just Israeli — it’s their way. They want to make you feel at home, so they treat you like shit. Make sense? Cool. The food is in no way gourmet, it’s just a genuine Israeli dining experience. Expect huge schnitzels, gallons of hummus, tabouleh, pita bread and beyond. You’ll never leave this place on an empty stomach so I recommend at least arriving on one.

This restaurant has the WOW factor. When you order anything on the menu be prepared to eat for a week. I have been coming here for years and there is nothing better than the Limor’s Barbequed Special, apart from maybe the Limor’s Barbequed Special in the morning for breakfast! Another dish that will make your eyes open wider than they have in a long time(unless you just saw the Limor’s Barbequed Special) is the Schnitzel. I don’t know where they find these chickens from but they are the biggest breast I have ever seen! It’s a challenge and a half just to finish, this is definitely a dish to share.
