Been to Wildpear 3 times. The food is amazing and unique. It is a whole step up from the standard cafes. Had big breakfast this time, and was impressed. Pricey, yes, at around $ 21.50, but was well worthwhile. The bacon was particularly outstanding. This café is very busy, especially on the weekends. Expect to wait 5 – 30 minutes for a table. The atmosphere inside is seriously good. Great vibe and good city-country location. Take a stroll in the flower nursery next door after your meal. Only criticism would be the service. Not enough waiters(but this may be justified because of the lack of space), and the service was standard.

All in all a nice café, I was here on a weekday morning and it was already starting to fill up when I left at 10.30am(do people who live in Dural not work?!). I had bacon and egg on toast with baby spinach(also meant to come with cherry tomatoes but unless they were the smallest ones in creation I didn’t see any). I did ask the waitress to cook my eggs to within an inch of their life… which resulted in me sending the eggs back to be cooked more as they were still runny when I got them. Not sure what part of ‘kill my eggs till they are almost burnt’ wasn’t clear. Accompanied by a glass of orange juice, nothing spectacular just juice. I couldn’t tell if it was freshly squeezed or not, it didn’t mention it on the menu. Being that jugs of juice were priced at $ 16 you’d want to hope they were oranges picked by naked virgins under a full moon. I think that’s what irked me the most about Wildpear — the cost. Granted, Dural is a fairly affluent area, but $ 25 for bacon and eggs and a juice is just a bit much. I’d probably pay that at Paper Planes in Parra, but their meals are the size of my head and a lot more imaginative(although I am still weeping about the loss of honey baked bacon from their menu). I did pick up a brownie on the way out and it was pretty tasty, almost made up for my lackluster meal. My dining companion had a fancier meal, chorizo hot pot style thing. She said it was great, it certainly smelled great, and it was more worth the money. Overall ok, but Baron at Castle Hill would be a better pick if you’re in the Hills.

read good reviews about this café. Went there few days ago for trial. Very busy. Food is nice but not as generous portion as I thought. Customer service is smile but no knowledge of the menu with excuse of quite new working there. The waitress/waiter only passed our seats every 15 mins or more bcoz we didn’t get the good position table. We had to walk 2 times to the front find out what’s happening as our foods were not coming after more than 30 mins and no follow up. I would only go back there if I could get good position table. Nevertheless you paid for the food, atmosphere and SERVICE.

It was my mums birthday and she hasn’t been feeling the best lately, so I recommended we drop by Wildpear to buy some cakes as I had done before. My mum goes in and asks for 2 cakes takeaway. They then say«No», telling me that the dine-in customers are higher priority and we are saving them all for them, despite having LOADS of them. I intervened saying I have gotten take-away a few times before, where they basically said ‘not now’. We all then left empty-handed and feeling embarrassed because of their arrogance, and feeling even worse for my mum who managed to enjoy herself before that. For a place that is essentially a café for the most part doing the same fare as a lot of others around, they sure have let it get to their heads to actually DENY people food! The WORST customer experience I’ve ever had! Shame on you Wildpear!!!

This café was awesome! Went here for lunch on the weekend and it was quite packed but still managed to get a table outdoors. I had the pan fried gnocchi and it was very filling. Still had room for some dessert though, had the pecan pie with ice cream. It was alright but wouldn’t get it again, was abit too heavy. I’ve heard the breakfast is amazing! I will be back!

A sunny morning after Sydney storms, and reading what my fellow Unilocalers said about this place, I ventured to the part of Old Northern Road that isn’t on my regular trail. Arriving just before 9 the verandah area was already filled with couples and families. If you are coming here with friends or family I think you’d be wise to make a booking. The menu looked good. I like to see things that I wouldn’t be bothered to make at home. This place gets big ticks already. I was SO tempted by the Sugar n Spice French Toast, but opted for Sweet Pea Felafel of poached eggs, haloumi & avo with 2 delicious pea falafels nestled in wonderful fresh herbs. Delicious! Probably ate too much as it was such a generous serve, but I told myself that I was getting my week’s serve of greens in one sitting. I haven’t finished my coffee, let alone paid the bill, but I’m already thinking about a return visit sometime soon to try something from the lunch menu.

The food was good, but the success of the café makes it very noisy and chaotic with terrible parking. If you want just as good food with better coffee and pleasant service plus much better grounds with decent parking travel a little further to Greenshades in Galston village.

If you are in Dural this is probably one of the nicer places to come and have some food. However, it is on the expensive side(for this area). Be prepared to book before hand or you might not find a place to sit. Saying that I prefer the Baron or the Tuckshop over Wildpear — I think they have better coffee and more interesting food. But if you are looking for a good and big breakfast, then this is probably the place for you. So this café is also part of a nursery, which is part of its charm. If you sit at the back, on the veranda, you get to look out at all the plants that they have on offer. This is a family friendly place that gets extremely crowded on weekends. The all time seller is their big breakfast, which as the title goes it quite big. However, it isn’t special just big. You get eggs, sausages, bacon and the whole shabang. But it will set you back a good $ 23. The atmosphere is nice, the staff are over run as this place is always busy. If you are looking for a place that is a bit different in the Dural area then come past, but if you want a coffee and a good quick breakfast I would not come here. I would go to the Tuckshop — but that is my personal opinion.

I visited Wildpear Café a day before Fathers Day because we couldn’t get a booking for the actual day — they were full up! This kind of already proved to me that we were in for one heck of a treat that Saturday morning! My family and I braved the wind and rain and found ourselves in a small cosy, grandmother-style home with trinkets and jars and plants everywhere. It was so welcoming! The flurry of conversation all around is wasn’t a bother, and we were pleasantly served throughout the entire meal! And what a meal. I can’t go through all the dishes because my family and I have a tendency to eat like gluttons(no regrets: D) but here are a few of the dishes and drinks that stood out! 1. The Affogato — despite not being on the drinks menu when we went, they made one classy dessert-drink! It was generously served in a large glass, espresso on the side, with vanilla ice cream softening into the puddle of caramel in the large glass. On the side were two wafer thin but delicious pieces of nutty biscotti. Sigh. 2. The French Toast — Imagine all the sweetness and citrusy fragrance of orange blossom infused into a thick cut french toast drowning in syrup and cream. Not a bad image right? It becomes reality at this café, being the perfect brunch dish! 3. Bacon and avocado Stack — Fresh. Wholesome. Delicious. I would like to emphasise it is healthy considering there were large pieces of avocado, so yes, good for you to an extent too. Generous servings as well: D Overall, especially considering Wildpear is a only 10 minutes from my place, I will definitely be returning there again… and again. and again!

Day before spring, beautiful day, super hungry and wanting to explore Sydney like a tourist. So what better way to start the day is with a your not so guilty and oh so scrumptious brunch. Wildpear café in Dural was top of my list, located in a nursery. This homely café reminds me of visiting my Aunt and Uncle for breakfast in their country home. The place was packed, as usual, but the keen eye of the waitress spotted a cosy spot in the corner for us to be seated within minutes. I ordered Spanish Eggs with a cappuccino. The hot pan came out with two runny eggs floating on the bubbling pool of red tomato sauce with chorizo. The eggs were cooked perfectly as the yolk oozed out when I dipped my sourdough bread into the pan. The rich sauce was beautiful and flavoursome from the spices and slices of capsicum but the beauty of this great hang over dish is the slices of chorizo you find in there. I literally mopped up the dish with the bread and felt very satisfied after my meal. The Good — Friendly and very welcoming staff, very efficient, the excellent home style rustic food, country home setting, and ambience. The Bad — some people might find it too crowded and loud. I was still able to hold a conversation and enjoy my meal leisurely without being pressured to leave. The Ugly — the more we start Unilocaling about this place, the earlier I have to get in to beat the crowd.

An adorable place that never dissapoints. The food is always perfect, good quality and full of flavour(locally sourced too) The staff are very friendly/helpful and I particularly love the county house feel.

Foods great however I hated the attitude of some staff today when we rocked up at 11.30am for brunch only to be told it’s either the breakfast menu or wait 15 minutes if you want food from the lunch menu. Clearly there is no concept of an all day breakfast menu. It was as if our table was going to determine when they stopped serving breakfast I can live with that but the way it was delivered to us was unacceptable and their breakfast menu has 9am to 4pm printed on the bottom of it so it looks like it should be available during those hours Fortunately the food was up to their usually high standard
