One of the best Japanese places in Perth, their udon noodle soup is to die for. Friendly staff and quality food!

A good range is sushi but really no different to what you find in the supermarket. Satisfies those cravings though!

This must be the kind of place you go for deep fried Japanese… because the raw(sashimi) is nasty.

This little hidden Japanese restaurant sees its fair share of clientel coming in and out. They have a ready made sushi section out the front for those in a hurry or possible on their lunch break. My recommendation is to order fresh if you have the time. Their soups are very good and the udon noodles aren’t overcooked which can unfortunately be quite rare. The katsu is very good and if you order the meal it is particularly filling but dno’t worry about indigestion because the miso soup will help wash it all down. They service here is quite fast but then again most Japanese restaurants are not exactly in the parctice of lazy slow service. This is a nice spot for lunch, it is not my favourite Japanese by far but it is better than most.

Japanese food can vary pretty wildly in quality and in Fremantle the range of options available run the gamut from food-poisoning-level-badness to life alteringly well prepared amazing food. If you can’t tell by the five stars I’ve awarded it, this is the latter. While many people opt to avoid the wait for prepared meals, picking up the best sushi in town from the front counter, their prepared meals are worth the ten minute wait. With a menu that includes teryaki chicken, creamy crab meat, ginger fish, chicken katsu, tempura, una don and a range of noodle soups, it’s easy to find something delicious. You can purchase them either as a standalone meal with rice or as a combination that includes miso soup and a small tray of sliced vegetables. My personal favourite is their Yakinuku Beef Don($ 9.50 or $ 12 as a combination), a soy-soaked beef barbecue served on rice that is extremely filling. Sushi aside, all of these dishes are packed full of carbohydrates and will keep you feeling full long after you’ve eaten them. The restaurant has a drinks fridge but the soft drinks are a bit pricey; I’d suggest getting the combination version of your meal and practicing your Japanese-style«round eating». This involves eating small pieces of each dish in your combination, moving around your plate in a circular pattern. As the combinations include Miso Soup, you’ll find you don’t need much else in the way of liquids. In addition to the great food, this restaurant is always very clean and the customer service is friendly and very polite, despite the fact that the attendants get very busy at lunchtime between taking all the orders and sushi take aways. Even at lunch time, the efficient kitchen will have your food to you within ten minutes or so. The décor inside is sparse but it is pleasant enough for the kind of restaurant it is. All things considered, this is one of my favourite places for a casual bite to eat in Fremantle. Highly recommended.
