Mmmm, I love Japanese. It would have to be one of my favourite cuisines, and Yokohama certainly do it justice. The restaurant itself is nice, well set out and the décor is classy. The staff are friendly and polite, and the service is fast. The beef teryaki is awesome, nice and tender meat with a sweet yet tangy sauce. Also delish is the chicken cat suits. Okay, so it’s not called that, but it sounds something like that and is so so yummy. Tender chicken with a crispy crumb and a tangy dipping sauce.

Conveniently located near the cinemas at The Glen, Yokohama Teppanyaki is a good place to have a meal before you see a movie. It is clearly in direct competition with Shiranui, which is located closer to the main part of the shops, but if you’ve managed to get a park close to Century City, or if you’re after Japanese cuisine impulsively and without booking, you’re better off dining at Yokohama. The food is really quite good, if a bit expensive. My preferred dish is beef teriyaki, which is absolutely delicious. It’s $ 27.50, so it isn’t outrageous, but I’ve had equally good beef teriyaki for a bit less than that elsewhere. Maybe it’s just my impression that the serving size was a little on the small side for that price. The service is good, with polite waiters and waitresses who are attentive to the customers. The décor is neatly laid out, and the atmosphere is pleasant. I’ve got terrible hearing, so most places I go, I need to strain to join in conversation with my friends, and even then, I miss half the conversation. This isn’t much of a problem at Yokohama Teppanyaki, even when it’s busy.
