Cute little gelato place with a big storefront but small interior. They serve gelato, milkshakes, and coffee(I believe). The woman helping me out at the counter was very kind and friendly. I got the medium cone($ 5.40 is a bit pricey, but whatever) with one scoop of honeycomb crunch and one scoop of salted caramel. Both were great — nice, creamy, and thick just how I like gelato :) The interior is also pretty cute and follows a sort of contemporary ice cream shop/homey coffee shop blend design. The chairs/tables are all white and rounded to follow the modern era and the menu is all written in chalkboard to have the old-school vibe. All in all, enjoyed my experience here — but come prepared to spend a small fortune!

A good traditional gelati parlour on a strip of otherwise uniform franchises, the standout for me has been the crostata siciliana made with ricotta. Also on offer are crepes and ice realm cakes that I suspect are actually semifreddo given the rest of the traditional fare.

There’s something about ice cream stores that just seems to appease the angriest, most tired of souls. I think it’s their callback to childhood, nobody can cry over two scoops of ice cream… unless you’re a girl whose just been dumped. Well Cones, quite the institution on Glenferrie Road Hawthorn, is no exception. It’s brimming with happy children, parents in hand, overwhelmed by the variety of good old-fashioned flavours. For those that are less into ice cream(freak!), they almost make a pretty mean crêpe. This is just such a family-friendly place, and such an instant reminder that summer is on its way!
