Cellini Lounge Bar

I had high expectations and it didn’t disappoint!
The 6 of us had a mix of dishes, Atlantic Salmon, ½ ¹⁄₂ pizzas, big breakfast and the like.
The pizzas were great! The waiter suggested I try the Super Seafood and I mixed that with «The Works». Light pizza base and a healthy serve of toppings, I wanted more. The big breakfast «promo» size was decent enough. The normal big breakfast would have been simply indulgent.
Then came coffees and desert. One person had a SLAB of tiramisu and they were in heaven. The Crème brûlée had me salivating but, I was content with my main as I didn’t feel like pigging.
Combined with helpful, friendly staff, you get a big tick!

I have lost count of the times I have visited Cellini’s. 21^st birthdays, brunches, dinners, engagements, coffee and cocktails! Cellini’s is where I go to celebrate when the CBD seems too far away.
I like to describe Cellini’s atmosphere as ‘classy casual.’ The atmosphere is casual, but the surroundings inspire you to make slightly more effort than if you’re headed to the local pub. Cellini’s is popular with workers, students, couples, families and groups and is Heidelberg’s worst kept secret.
My favourite time to visit is for breakfast– it is a great way to start a weekend. Over the years I have triedmost of the breakfast menu, while alldelicious. For me the star of the breakfast menu is the Italian Scrambled eggs, well cooked eggs with prosciutto, sun dried tomatoes and feta. Choose to sit in the bar bistro or the street patio and watch the bustle of Burgundy Street pass by.
The Cellini staff are willing to go out of their way to make your experience memorable. One such example of this was during a birthday dinner. I wanted to try a new cocktail and so the bartender located a cocktail book and offered to make me anything I could find! And so I spent the rest of the evening testing his mixology skills and my liver. Result!
It’s partly the polished atmosphere and friendly staff, partly the location (right next to Heidelberg train station) and partly the space; bistro floor, beer garden and lounge bar that is tailor made for intimate parties, but mainly Cellini’s success is in its consistency. The food is always good and the service always friendly. I know that when I go there I will leave satisfied!
