I went to Queens for my work function and tried the stacked burger challenge there. The chips were nice and crunchy but the burger itself was overly too meaty for my liking. It made it quite boring to eat due to the lack of salad. Queens had a good range of beer and the place itself is good for a casual outing.

Abit disappointed about the food. Had calamari which was soggy and my chicken salads chicken had skin on it which made the salad a bit unhealthy. Luch specials are good thou. The manager is always happy and positive so points for him for the customer service :)

Queens is where we go to for a quick pint and a bite to eat. We used to come here to eat before going out. So long as you don’t expect much from the food at the prices they are, you’d save yourself any disappointment and unnecessary angst! The steak sandwich is a hit and miss. One visit may be great, another visit you may get a piece of gristly meat. It’s pub food but perhaps at a slightly dearer price. In our most recent visit, they forgot to bring out one of my mates’ food but brought out everyone else’s. Rather than simply apologising for the error, the wait staff/(supervisor?) blamed us for placing the orders at different times. Which wasn’t true as we ordered all our food at the same time. But hey watevs! Oh on the upside/good news is they’ve finally changed their cd! Rejoice!

Had a great lunch at this historic pub in trendy Beaufort St. Meals looked very good and the tap cider was crisp and tart, perfect. It must be a good place because it full of nice people. I’ll be coming back.

Very disappointing. The menu seemed limited. The food didn’t take long to come out. The chicken was dry and the spinich leaves were full of a and. I got my money back. Not happy Jan

Good music and good vibes in general. Perfect spot for a sunday sesh but a little over-crowded for my liking. It was a long wait to get drinks at the bar and impossible to walk through the crowds. Once it gets later in the afternoon, it’s impossible to get a seat downstairs. Although there is plenty of seating upstairs, it’s a bit isolated and not really a spot where you’re a part of the action going down.

I hear the words Sunday sesh and immediately think of the Queens. It’s lovely sitting outside this gorgeous old building, enjoying a pint and watching the world go by. I don’t like it so much at night, and the wait for a drink can sometimes be a bit of a drag, but the people watching opportunities are first class. Finally, I am very definitely a Beaufort Street groupie and, seriously, Beaufort Street just wouldn’t be quite right without the Queens. 4 out of 5 extremely sentimental, sunburnt, pint-slurping queens.

I recently went there for a sunday sesh and was really disappointed. I found the outside area(down the side, not street front) music so loud it was difficult to have a conversation. It didn’t attract many people either so the atmosphere was average. The food was also really disappointing. There is very limited vego options so I went with the cajun chicken salad(minus the chicken) as it said they had a vego option. It came out with deep friend tofu which tasted really bad. I didn’t think it was good value for money given it was about $ 26. My only positive would be that you can pay for drinks by card. There are better pubs on the beaufort st strip to choose from.

I used to be a fan, but my fanhood is dwindling. What happened, Queens? When did your food become outrageously expensive? When did your service become below par? When did your quality of food go down the tubes? 30 bucks for a salad? Wow, that salad better make me skinny in like five minutes. 10 bucks for a bowl of fries? Are you funding some overseas terrorist organization or have you just lost your mind? People will pay for great food, but your food is far from great. Rethink your business plan, Queens.

~ why do staff bother asking ‘how was everything tonight?’ when regardless of the answer the outcome is going to be the same. I’ve been going to the queens on and off for years as it’s within my hood and people often have functions there. The last time I was there we had dinner… Items were mixed up, some didn’t come, Staff had no idea on key items on the menu and food was cold. On paying the waitress asked the classic line ‘how was everything tonight?’ And I explained exactly how ‘everything was tonight’ to which she replied. ‘Sorry to hear that’ and then charged my Cc anyway. Not that I expect a discount or free food but I do expect some acknowledgment or action to be taken. I don’t have time for places like this.

On a busy Friday in a bar this size you would expect there to be more than 4 people serving, sadly not. Otherwise, it’s a good place for casual drinks.

Is on the one of the greatest strips in Perth, although the general environment is great, the menu is so boring! Staff are friendly, I would suggest more parking and wider variety of food. Other then those to things, Queens is great for after work drinks or a Sunday Sesh!

The Queens recently changed its menu. New menu = not good, much preferred it previously. Food quality is good, though.

Good beer selection and good prices, great place for a drink after work or a good Sunday session. Unfortunately, the food is just plain bad. Recommend having a bite across the street at El Publico or Must, and continuing the evening here. Also has a great beer garden area, with smoking and nonsmoking areas.

Always disappointing food but good vibe for a Sunday Sesh drinking with my friends. Get merry on their drinks first then head to another venue to eat!

Lazy Afternoon Lunch Finished up at the beach late in the afternoon today and headed over to the Queens Tavern in Mt Lawley for a lazy afternoon lunch. I ordered the Sizzling garlic prawns and the gf ordered the Cajun Chicken Salad. I asked to substitute the bread in my garlic prawn dish for more salad and this request was met without any resistance. The meals both came out within 10 minutes and we both still quiet hot. It wasn’t overly busy but not quiet either at this point. I did receive a slightly larger portion of salad but not enough to compensate the lack of bread in the dish. I also noticed a discerning browning on the lettuce leaves in my salad. I receive 9 decent sized prawns in the dish and the flavor was quiet nice if not a bit too subtle. Overall though the dish was quiet nice and very fresh except for the lettuce leaves in the salad. The gf’s Cajun chicken salad was nice overall but contained cashews that were overcooked making them overly dry and the chicken seemed slightly overcooked also. All in all an OKAY meal but considering it cost upwards of $ 80 for that and 2 g&t’s you would expect something with a bit more quality. I feel overall it fell a bit short. I might also mention the over 10 –15 minute wait at the bar for drinks when the place wasn’t even busy too.

I really like this place. It does get quite busy at the weekends but come early to avoid lining up outside. I just like the atmosphere that surrounds a Fridya evening here. The long wooden tables invite me to order food and sit down as a group and chat and laugh and let the night do its thing. It is a great spot for a big group as they can do some finger food and reserve a few tables. In agreement with the others, the food is pretty good but expensive as it is still pub grub.

I don’t ever recall The Queens not being on Beaufort Street. The Queens is as much a part of Beaufort Street as lightning bolts are a part of David Bowie. This gigantic beautiful old building has two stories and an epic beer garden. The food is consistently good, I strongly recommend the chicken crispy noodle salad. Chicken, avocado(a match made in taste heaven), tomatoes, crispy noodles and lettuce. Their prices are as expensive as most other bars in the metro area. A bottle of Rekorderlig cider will set you back $ 20. The Queens is always busy, but weekends especially so, the Sunday session here is infamous. The crowd tends to be largely over thirties.
