Solomons is the kind of café that makes me feel more virtuous than I really am. I’m sure it’s something to do with the cacao in the air, the hipster clientele, the attentive wait staff who eagerly spruik positive energy. But all jokes aside, Solomons makes healthy food awesome. Delicious, in the best kind of un-deprived way. Their raw nutritional desserts, dehydrated wraps, creamy vegan risottos and fresh pressed juices are fresh and dreamy, served with genuine smiles from people who actually care about the health of their customers. Ordering recommendation, if going for dinner: raw LA lasagne ft. walnut bolognese, cashew cheese, fresh vegan basil pesto. Absolutely amazing, particularly when served with a fresh side salad. My favourite way to eat at Solomons is to sit alfresco, either in the rear garden or front outside tables, sipping thoughtfully on a raw cacao mocha whilst contemplating a transition to veganism. Srsly, I’ve thought about it. A few more visits to Solomon’s and we’ll see what happens.

I’m so pleased to have found this place. The food options that are available have assisted me greatly in maintaining the low carb high fat(LCHF) diet that I’m embarking upon. LCHF options are not readily available in cafes and restaurants throughout Perth as one would hope, yet. However the food options at Solomons, have allowed me to indulge in a dining out experience that takes me away from my kitchen to eat guilt free foods that are compliant with my needs.

A fabulous über healthy café! No need to feel guilty after splurging here The service was fabulous the lovely waitress even placed us right under the aircon to keep us lovely and cool! The menu was varied and there was lots I could have chosen. This time I opted for the jungle fish curry served with quinoa. The curry had plenty of fish in it and also lots of lovely veggies it came out quickly and was lovely and hot but not spicy! Delicious!!!

Ate here last night for a birthday celebration, talk about fantastic meal to end the day. We started with an entrée of bread and dips and raw falafel with tzatziki both were incredibly tasty. For mains we shared nasi goreng from the specials menu and pulled beef from the regular menu. Both of these meals were a great size so good if you’re really hungry! The nasi goreng was hands down the best I’ve had and a total plus being vegan and organic. The roast beef and sweet potato were cooked perfectly and I would definitely come back again for this one.

Used to be my favorite place to go but the last couple of times I have been disappointed. I was told that there is a new chef, i miss the old one! Great menu though if you are wanting to go out for a meal and keep it healthy. Not a fan of the raw slices they have on offer. Great location, relaxing inside. Have always found staff helpful. Cashew halloumi is a personal favorite. Could do with a menu update, it hasn’t really changed in the 2 years I have been going.

One of my favourite places to eat in Perth! I love Solomon’s for its healthy menu that caters for both raw vegans and meat eaters, which is perfect if you’re watching your waistline but your boyfriend still wants meat. It’s a bit on the pricey side, but the ingredients are expensive(lots of nuts and organic produce) so you have to allow for this. They also have specials and the atmosphere is laid back yet cosy, so ideal for dinner with the girl or a first date!

Solomon’s isn’t for everyone, but if you’re into vegan, organic or raw foods, you will probably love it. I was in Highgate yesterday and decided to pop in for a light lunch. The café has an earthy feel, and I loved the courtyard area out back which would be great for a few drinks in the evening. Apparently the organic theme carries over to the drinks and you can enjoy an organic vodka cocktail if that’s your thing. Tables around me were being served massive plates of salads, but I wasn’t that hungry and ordered the soup of the day — sweet potato and ginger — with some sour dough bread on the side($ 14). The options for a small, light lunch were very limited, and I didn’t want to spend $ 20 upwards on a main meal. The soup was a generous serve and the ginger flavour was zingy. There was no hint of salt however, and being the salt freak I am, I had to season it myself. I’ve read from other reviewers that the food can be bland, but I guess this is in line with their food philosophy and I really didn’t mind adding my own. Their sourdough wasn’t the normal yummy sourdough, but what I gather must have been a GF slice. It’s either paleo bread(urghh) or the GF sourdough at Solomon’s so if you crave a crusty baguette, you’re in the wrong place. The two young wait staff who served me were chatty and pleasant, though the older person who seated me was a grumpy pants without a hint of a welcoming smile. I guess we all have bad days but it wasn’t a great initial impression. I’m glad I finally got to try Solomon’s, but I wouldn’t rush back. The menu didn’t do much for me, and whilst I appreciate that they are doing something alternative in the midst of a busy street of eateries, there are so many other nearby options I prefer.

This one was between 2 and 3 stars, gave it a 2 purely for the customer service or should I say lack of… It was a close friends birthday dinner so just a few of the close girlfriends came along — including 2 kids. We sat down and waited for what seemed like forever and after waiving down a waiter eventually they came and took our drink order. There were so many things wrong with the service this night, placing a random glass of wine on the table with the kids, waiter spilling a glass all over 2 guests and the table, placing all the food down and not saying what the items were. The food was good — not great and their idea of a kids meal was some gluggy pasta covered in white sauce that tasted as bad as it looked. The last straw was the waiter advising us of split billing to only get to the till to pay to only receive sarcastic responses and the death stare from the guy at the till — safe to say that my girlfriends and I will never be coming back here again.

Small café located in mount Lawley, this is a must for anyone who feels like a guilt free indulge! Fresh juices and smoothies, and all healthy meals. Catering to paleo, gluten free, dairy free, vegetarians and vegan.

Great little restaurant with plenty of outdoor seating(there’s a whole patio out the back). Lots of options for vegan, gluten free, vegetarian and some meat options. Had the vegan platter. Wasn’t thrilled with it as some flavours were bland or off but it was well executed and put together. Will definitely go back and try other menu items that caught my eye. Coffee was great!

After many months of bookmarking I finally was able to visit Solomon’s its such a cute little café I absolutely love the interior and staff are so friendly and more importantly coffee is good! I ordered the moroccan baked eggs which sounded amazing but didn’t really translate in real life. for starters I thought the orange rind was a little odd and didnt know whether or not to eat and the eggs were very baked… all the way at the bottom, slightly redeeming features were the flavour of the sauce and the bread but all in all I kinda felt like Solomons was a flop!

4 ½ stars, actually. I took off half for the slightly too subtle choc berry cheesecake and the slightly less than perfect coffee. They were both very good but just lacked a strong flavour. I also had the satay sliders; the sweet potato, quinoa and kale salad; and a cacao banana smoothie which were all delicious. Servings were generous, too. I’m on the journey to becoming vegan so I’m checking out the local options and I’ve found my second one here. Friendly, efficient staff and a great location for starters. I love the interior — clean with a homely feel like you’re at a friend’s house. Love the seating out back, especially. Not too expensive, plenty of variety including many vegan/veggie dishes and a relaxed atmosphere(not slow, just quietly efficient :)) make this a winner and one I’ll be returning to again and soon! Late edit: As with all places, check your bill there and then. I made the mistake of not looking at mine thoroughly and was charged $ 10 for the Vegan Mango Lassi that I originally ordered before the waitress told me that they’d run out of mango. Obviously a minor error and not one I’ll hold them to ransom for. :)

This was my second visit to Solomon’s since it opened and I don’t know why it’s taken me so long to come back — loved it last time and was just as good this time. It’s a great place to go if you want to enjoy food with friends without feeling guilty about eating out. The raw zucchini lasagne was jam packed with flavour, and really fresh and filling. We also had the raw lemon cheesecake to share between two of us, and we left feeling happy and satisfied. I’m yet to be seated in the area out the back yet but it’s very deceiving from the front — don’t be put off if you look through the window and think you won’t get a seat as there are a fair few tables towards the back that you can’t see until you walk through so you could be in luck.

This place! Ah! It’s a dream come true! To have the food be Devine and the food choices be so varied and wonderful. Well, it brings a girl like me almost to(happy) tears. So it’s kinda hard to do an unbiased review. But then again, the things you build up in your head to be really, really awesome, can in reality, sometimes let you down. I’m happy to report this place really exceeded all my expectations and totally delivered. All the meals we had were super tasty, beautifully presented, fresh and perfect. My chicken stuffed with sun dried tomatoes was so delish and the accompanying vegetables crisp and so well seasoned. I love the décor too. So relaxing. Not too much busy-ness and it has such nice simplicity with minimal visual clutter. So peaceful and calming. Love all the exposed brick and wood. Great experience. I agree with some of the others though, maybe skip the coffee… I seriously love, love, love everything else about this place. Just call me smitten!

I didn’t actually dine here, though I really tried. I arrived Sunday night @ 7:30 for dinner. BUT, they were already stacking up their chairs and closing for the night, despite the hours posted that they are open until 9:30! With attitude like that it is no wonder people don’t flock to this restaurant. The neighboring restaurants were all serving patrons at that hour, so one can’t blame the variable weather. So beware, and double check with them that they’ll be open when you’d expect.

I wanted to read some reviews before I checked this place out as I heard mixed things. However, Pete Evans did recommend it and although he isn’t the bees knees, he does know a bit about good food. The atmosphere is intimate with dim lighting and small tables, perfect for small groups with lots of sides and sharing plates. I had the Vegan Nachos– sprouted chips, tomato, black bean & gaucomole with a nut parmesan which was good, but maybe more of a lunch/snack option than dinner. It was filling, but could of done with a squirt of lemon or lime on top to intesify the flavours. My companion had the Solomon’s sliders — beetroot and black bean patties, w/an avocado salsa, on home made quinoa bread. The size of this dish wasn’t big, it was 3 – 4 small patties on bread. Although I loved the patties and avocado salsa, we weren’t a fan of the crumbly quinoa bread. The only issue I have with it, although hard to pinpoint is expectations. I was excited about the mouth watering options on the menu filled with fresh ingredients and super foods, however my expectations did not match the meal which was disappointing. To be fair, I don’t know if it was me who had the high expectations or it was Solomon’s. Nevertheless, I love the idea and am going to return for the smoothies and breakfast options.

Ventured to Mt Lawley for a Saturday lunch with the girls to try Solomon’s Café. This place is relatively new, and the fit out is awesome, they have certainly turned an old building into something magnificent — the outdoor court area is divine. There are a variety of seating options, street seating, insider courtyard undercover and outside as well. We were seated fairly quickly and given a food menu, drinks menu and specials menu, Service was very good and I found the girl who served us more then helpful — we had quite a few questions and she was happy to assist. I had had a look at the menu on Friday when I was trying to fill in some time so already had a bit of a plan in place — I opted for trying a few of the sides in order to make the most of my dining experience, I ordered the Sweet Potato & Coconut Gnocchi, Beetroot Chips and Slaw Salad. I also ordered the Ginger Smoothie. My other friends ordered the Raw Zucchini Pasta and the Solomon’s Salad — one told me she could easily eat there every day and the other sent me an e-mail today saying this place might be her new favorite place. The smoothies were quick to the table and we ordered these first, lunch was a little bit of a wait which was fine it was a Saturday and I hadn’t seen the girls for a while and we had a fair bit of catching up to do. My food was delicious, it was apparent when my order came however that I had clearly over-ordered — it did however give everyone else a chance to try a little of everything! The Sweet Potato & Coconut Gnocchi was really tasty it had a pesto sauce and dill dressing — it could however be a shared entrée as the whole dish was a little on the rich side for one! The Slaw Salad was my highlight, it was fresh and crisp with a delightful tasting citrus dressing and generously sprinkle with sesame seeds. I wasn’t sold on the Beetroot Chips they came with orange and salt but I still found them a little on the dry side. The smoothie was amazing, being allergic to dairy and also not drinking soy I am usually limited with these types of drinks but the smoothies here are made with coconut water — so for me walking in an ordering something I generally miss out on is awesome for me! The only slight down side was the price — it is a little steep for lunch, but this is to be expected with raw food cafes given the prep that goes into them and I wouldn’t let this put me off going back. There was also a mix up with our bill when we left — and after some waiting around we were all given a raw choc-ball to take away with us as an apology. Nice touch I thought! If you are looking for a different lunch option that caters for the vegetarian, vegan, gluten/dairy intolerant and allergic amongst us this place is the place to go!

Finding a restaurant that caters for everyone is not easy. Either it’s too meaty for the vegans, too crunchy for the celiacs, too cheesy for the lactose intolerant… you get the idea. From the moment we walked in, we loved the place. The fit out is stunning, as is the back garden where many of the ingredients are plucked. The staff was almost terrifyingly pleasant. The menu covers everything from fish to lamb to raw zucchini«pasta» to vegan mushroom risotto and it would be dang near impossible not to please even the pickiest of plates or preferences. Yep, I hear ya — the final bill was steep. But the portions were massive and with ingredients like that, we certainly felt like we got what we paid for.

I’m pretty surprised by the current star rating, as my dining experience last night was awesome. We got there for an early dinner. Checked out the new living-wall out back(very cool) then took a seat in the back section of the restaurant. The fit-out is just gorgeous, exposed brick walls, a splash of colourful furniture, and mismatched crockery adorning the tables. A 10⁄10 interior. We grabbed a very large tasty juice($ 12 eek), with beetroot, apple and a ton of other equally delicious and good for you fruit and veg. For our mains(which were reasonably priced at around $ 25) I ordered the lamb cutlets on roasted sweet potato with a tahini sauce. The lamb would have made Sam Kekovich proud, and the sweet potatoes were cooked to squidgy perfection. We also tried the raw pasta, which was a massive stack of zucchini grated to look much like spaghetti with a great pesto, kalamata olives and cherry tomatoes throughout. Serving sizes were perfect for my massive appetite, so I wonder if they’ve increased the size since first opening, if they used to be small? Finished the meal off with the Snickers bar, highly recommended by the waitress. Rightly so too, it was a cracker of a dessert. I left feeling full of nature’s goodness. The staff were lovely, though service was a bit slow.

Solomon for a King’s Ransom … Dropped in here today for a late lunch with Susan after having walked by on several occasions in the last week and running my eye over the menu. Seemed to be enough menu options to interest us both enough to have a foray inside. A narrow and long type setup allows for a bit of a dining area at the entry whilst there is more further back past the kitchen that allows for an eating area outside. Service was on par with the better places in town and around Mt Lawley but the rest of our dining experience was something that I won’t forget for the wrong reasons. This is where I will have very differing opinions to most other Unilocalers out there. Having chosen a spot at the back to catch some rays from the generous amount of sun that was on offer considering the winter months we had a look at the menu and the first negative was apparent. Even though this is a «Raw» type eatery, surely the prices are a little inflated even when compared to other similar offerings nearby and in Fremantle? The Liver Lover juice was quite tasty, but at $ 12 a pop seemed a little excessive also. We had eaten a late brekkie at another«Raw» offering nearby and thought that surely for these prices the quantity of food would be proportional. When the dishes came out I understood why the waitresses kept trying to recommend side dishes. Whilst presented«okay» the plates were barely half covered with JUST the lamb cutlets and the salmon respectively. I was in genuine shock. I was slightly confused as to whether I should have been wearing a business suit at this point to justify what we were being offered compared to what it cost. We decided to stay positive and have a taste. Well … this is where it gets worse. The Lamb cutlets were dry and overcooked. With a garlic, lemon and oregano crumbing on the top, you would think there would be a considerable amount of «natural» flavour along with the taste of the lamb. This was not apparent at all. Somehow the chef managed to make the crumbing itself quite oily whilst taking ALL the moisture out of the lamb. A mean feat I might add as having cooked lamb cutlets at home the other night I didn’t think you needed a Michellin star endorsement to keep the moisture in the lamb cutlets. My Salmon whilst not as disappointing, was definitely not a stand out either. There was a LITTLE bit of flavour which mainly came from the fresh lime I had to squeeze on top to get any kind of reaction from my taste buds. Overall, whilst service was generally quite good, the young waitress was quite friendly, efficient and positive, the meal itself left a lot to be desired and the bill felt like a slap in the face after an experience like that. Sorry to say this but an UNSURPRISING addition to the Perth dining scene capitalizing on the«Raw» food craze happy to charge diners and arm and both legs for the experience.
