Beaufort Street in Mount lawley is a hipster’s paradise with lots of funky cafés and boutique shops. Predictably, the menu at Veggie Mama boasts green smoothies and caters for any number of dietary restrictions — gluten free, dairy free, egg free, plus all the food is vego. You can choose as many salads as will fit onto your plate — eg. filo and salad($ 15) or curry and salad($ 16.50). The servings are genuinely huge and most people pack their leftovers into a(free) takeaway container. The darling little filo parcels are warm, flaky and savoury. My samosa pastry had a spiced lentil and potato filling, which was tasty and wholesome. My dad’s Morrocan curry was not spicy at all, but it had lovely rich flavours and was packed with chunky vegies and chickpeas. The kale and walnut salad was not nearly as gross as I expected haha(and my dad actually really liked it). Lunch will cost you about $ 15 – 20 with big servings. Service was prompt and helpful, plus tap water is free. Veggie Mama is perfect for health-conscious meals so you can eat doughnuts for breakfast and indulge for the rest of the weekend…

Yum yum yum, the gluten free raw brownies are Amazing! It’s like a melting explosion of goey yummy chocolateness. I’ve given into temptation twice already! The food is a bit lack lustre. Needs some menu revamp for main meals. The burgers are great. Especially being able to choose your ingredients. I wish they provided some nutrient and calorie information so I could make an informed decision on which one to choose. Not many gluten free salads that I felt inspired by. Maybe more colour in the salads would help.

My favourite thing about Veggie Mama has to be the consistency of the food. It’s always very fresh and tasty — just what you need when searching for a quick lunch. I usually go for the Mexican bean filo roll as well as a mix of salads. This is one of the best places to go to if you’re looking for a healthy meal out. I highly recommend it. The vegan options are numerous as well.

First time I’ve eaten here and I’m in love with the fact there are soo many gluten free, dairy free options Food is clean healthy and nutritious I had the sweet potato and chickpea patty with the Beetroot and carrot salad tastes awesome. My food cost around 15 dollars which sound hefty but my box was jam packed so didn’t mind the cost to much. If you have vegan friends take them here as it won’t disappoint

Yes… Lovely little vegan/veggie lunch bar. The salads are fresh, the filo pastries are delicious and the service is generally pretty good. They have a selection of vegan options as well and vegetarian. I always go for the mushroom and cream cheese filo with a choice of two side salads. Yesterday I had the coconut cabbage which was super yum along with the chickpea pumpkin. Very yummy indeed. My friend got a the Mexican filo, the vegan chocolate muffin and an almond milk flat white. The coffee was very bitter, and the muffin a bit dry but the savories went down a treat. Have to say, it is a little on the pricey side. and the décor of the place is nothing special… But whatevs. I’ll go back for the mushroom filo parcel alone.

Vege Mama is a great vegetarian/vegan restaurant. The food quality is good, and reasonably priced. There are a lot of options and you will not hungry. There are hot and cold options for meals as well. They allow you select different variations to make up your plate so it is quite good. Had the Mexican Bean filo, it was very tasty. They do a lot of good desserts as well. Recommend it to go there especially if one of your friends is a vegan.

My friend and I went to this hidden gem for lunch. The place is small and cute where you go up to the counter and order hot food or pies or patties or salads or a combo of anything with salads. You can even get takeaway where the small box costs 11.95. I got the hot meals combo with salad for 16.95. The great thing is that you can get as many hot meals or salads in the combo. I got the stir fry noodles, mushroom gnocchi and red tofu curry for my hot meals selection. For salads I got the brown rice, the purple cabbage salad and the pumpkin quinoa salad. Got a skinny latte for 4 bucks. You get the hot meals all mixed up in a bowl liked on top of each other and the salads are all mixed up which is annoying but everything was so delicious and the coffee was great too. The place also sells raw desserts. Definitely going back. So much to choose from and all vegetarian.

This is my go-to healthy restaurant in Perth. It never disappoints. Huge portions of fresh salads(several to choose from) and tons of hot food and veggie patties which can be eaten alone or as a burger. The vegan chocolate muffin is to die for. The only bad thing I’ve had was a watermelon juice. It wasn’t at all sweet then I realized it’s probably out of season, but then it shouldn’t be on offer if it doesn’t taste good. But I think you can’t go wrong with any of the food. Staff is very friendly to boot.

Originally in Inglewood, the move to Mt Lawley/Highgate was top notch– especially as the organic/vegetarian/raw food/fitness fanatics wave started being the only thing people talk about these days. Veggie Mama was ahead of the trend, before Kale became a massive thing. I have taken carnivores here and I’m proud to admit — converted them to vegetarian food. Not an easy task, but Veggie Mama makes it easy with its massive portions, even for an elite athlete(or a Mt Lawley gym goer) full of vegetables! Don’t be fooled by the plate of 3 salads as a light meal because you better have deep pockets to store the extra. They also cater for gluten free and vegan lovers. The location is a bit odd and only limited street parking around, but that doesn’t really bother me. Only other negative that is a bit harder to swallow is — healthy ain’t cheap, but then again, there meals could last me all day! So get in my belly healthy vegetarian/vegan and gluten free food!

Their salads are great! Although I wish their pasta is vegan(it currently has dairy) It’s a great venue for a dinner for two, catching up with friends, and when you feel that you’ve been naughty with your diet all day and you want that healthier kick.

Love this place. Tons of healthy options and most look quite delicious, I can’t wait to try everything! A few different daily burger patty options(I had the sweet potato/chickpea which was great), lots of side salad options(I had the sweet potato/quinoa) and lots of filos. Burger was served on a perfectly toasted sesame seed bun with salad and a nice tomato chutney. Can’t wait to go back and try more!

Were not vegetarians but we love veggie food so we hopped in the car and headed over to Veggie Mamma for lunch last Saturday. Situated in the heart of Beaufort Street, on a sunny day the restaurant looked really inviting and we managed to get a seat outside so we could watch the world go by which was nice. There is a car park conveniently located opposite the restaurant on the other side of Beaufort Street. The staff were all friendly and professional and the display of foods was a delight to see! So many bright colours and it all looked so fresh. It was really difficult to choose what to have! We decided on the Mexican Bean Filo and a Chickpea and Sweet Potato(which were heated up), both with Salad. You can choose up to three different salads to go with your dish. We didn’t wait long for our food to be served and both our meals were delicious, really flavoursome and extremely filling. It really was a treat to dine here as the food is of such a good quality and obviously made with love and care. Two coconut water drinks and two meals came to $ 37.90 which was really reasonable. We didn’t have enough room for any of the impressive cakes on display, maybe next time. We will be back regularly no doubt, we have found another favourite here in Perth.

Stopped in for lunch yesterday. I’m happy to say that I’ll definitely be back. The place is clean, neat, well priced with loads of things to choose from and everything looks fresh and delicious. The staff I spoke with were all polite and friendly. I chose the chickpea and sweet potato burger in a bun with mango salsa, shredded carrot and beetroot, spinach and sprouts. It was almost perfect. This isn’t a bad point but the patty was so big it squelched out the sides onto the plate with almost every bite so it was just a bit messy. It was like a second helping when I’d finished and must be why they gave me a knife and fork! The smoothie was also delicious although, on the down-side, it was served in a screw-top jar with a handle. This seems to be a fairly recent trend(or is my hermit lifestyle showing?!) but a screw-top isn’t the most comfortable thing to drink out of which probably explains the two plastic straws.(One would’ve been sufficient — the smoothie wasn’t that thick.) Not very environmentally friendly. :’(Half a point off for this! A normal glass is fine: P For a Wednesday lunch time it was quite busy. Not many tables free but I got one inside straight after ordering. The one big fault Veggie Mama has(and there’s not much they can do about it short of moving somewhere else) is that Horrible Junk is across the street.(Hungry Jacks, if you didn’t know!) Not the best view in anyone’s book, I’m sure. It’s also on the corner of Beaufort and Vincent which is fairly busy a lot of the time. The spinach & ricotta filo roll I bought for later was delicious, too! P. S. I originally set out to try Mr Munchies up the road but the small space plus the long line put me off so I kept walking :/

Stumbled upon this place looking for a lunch spot with healthy and fresh foods, and what a find! With a full range of vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free foods, this spot is a must for those with high maintenance eating habits. While I do enjoy a meat meal, I was fully satisfied with the selection of «burger» patties and wide array of side salads. Furthermore, the handful of hot dishes also looked good. They also offer all kinds of smoothies. What I also really like about this place is it’s a great spot for mamas to get together — the kid friendly toys help entertain little ones while mamas enjoy some healthy food sitting either inside or out.

I live just up the road from veggie mama and really wish i loved it. They have some yummy smoothies, salads and patties yet I feel the food is too focused on being vegan/glutenfree/superhealthy and it is lacking in flavour. The menu doesn’t really change very often and i have seen the same salads in the windows for too long. Vego food doesnt have to be boring. The staff however are really friendly and it is a nice enough place to enjoy a guilt free lunch.

I am not a vegetarian, I absolutely LOVE my meat and always thought I would never like this place. One of my friends whom is a health freak brought me here last week and I must say, I was very impressed! I got the spinach, potato and pine-nut pattie and a some sort of risoto-ish rice. It was delicious! The price is a little bit more expensive then other places, at $ 16.95(apparently the price increases by a $ 1.00 for Dinner) but you are getting ‘healthy’ food. The serving sizes are good and the food is very filling, I probably could of saved some for lunch the next day but I was being a little piggy. Can’t wait to return to try some other dishes!

okay this place is seriously seriously good. Even for those who aren’t vegan/vegetarian, you MUST come and try the food here. The amazing salads, freshly squeezed juices are excellent. The highlight for me are the various patties you can pick. The portion sizes are quite big though so it’s also a plus you can takeaway what you can finish. Nothing like making sure no waste here! You can either have the pattie with the salad by itself or in a burger. Either way, you can’t go wrong.

Again, I’m the black sheep. Perth is on the healthy, vegetarian and GF food train. I’m just not interested in buying a ticket. A few friends and I came here for lunch and while I understand what Veggie Mama is trying to accomplish, I don’t think it translates well. Healthy food rarely does. While the salads are inventive, the burgers were just too dry for my liking. There was nothing juicy or outstanding about them. They were so chewy and my jaw ached try to properly macerate them. I appreciate the portions but I quit halfway through. I’ve heard outstanding reviews but unless they had an off day, I won’t go back. Instead of paying money, I can make healthier and tastier versions of these kind of burgers at home.

As I stated in my previous review, I struggled between three and four stars. I have indeed settled the score; however, now I’m on the fence if it is a four or five stars! I suppose another visit is in order. I have to say that I probably consumed the best falafel of my life at Veggie Mamas. My complaint? The five lil’ nugs weren’t enough to satisfy my desire. My hunger was certainly satisfied as the falafel was on a bed of crispy pita chips with parsley, cucumber and tomato accompanied by a crushed tomato purée and hummus which again was amazing! Near the end, I was so full but kept gorging on… c’mon, it’s clean eats! My friend had the pumpkin gnocchi… and, shut the front door… .the.restroom. YES… that good that I could have sacrificed human decency and friendship. Okay, I’m a horrible friend or maybe have too much love for pumpkin-flavored-anything. I may be tricking my serious carnivore man to the lighter-side of eating. We’ll see! I must be acclimatizing to Perth and the costs as both my friend and I ate for $ 29 total and I didn’t bat an eyelash. In fact, I’d say that’s pretty darn cheap for here! It helped that we both drank tap water. I still suggest eating inside. I didn’t take my advice from last time and cars still continue to race and rev. Exceptionally loud and bothersome to my falafel consumption!
