Five Stars for the range and quality of produce available, and for the stellar service. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and are able to make suggestions and provide instructions on how to cook different cuts of meat. Their products are displayed so nicely that it got me inspired to cook a few different things. But they go that extra mile: When I wasn’t sure about which type of veal schnitzel(two were available) to purchase, the staff who served me offered me a complimentary plan one just in case the flavoured crumb didn’t go down well with my 1 year old. The same happened when I asked about the new beef and sweet potato sausage, she offered me a few to try. Wow, that’s certainly a way to treat a customer and will certainly keep me coming back. The prices are reasonable for a gourmet butcher and you get what you pay for in terms of the quality of the meats and other meat products(e.g. sausages). Small goods are available, though limited in range but you should be able to can get the staples.

Some may say too not eat meat is un-Australian. Though I am not one to fit into this range of people I also think it prudent to indulge in a weekly sirloin steak and if $ 22.90 a kilo strikes you as a great price to pay for this succulent cut then pop in in to the Windsor Meat Store to grab yourself a kilo worth. Steak isn’t your bag and looking for something a bit more gourmet, try the chickens stuffed with apricot and macadamia, or beef fillet pockets wrapped around feta, basil and tomatoes. Though these are scrumptious buys the display fridges contain all your poultry and bovine needs and they also have self serving fridges with a range of lamb cuts and if you’re like me and cheat with your sauces grab a sachet of gravy to complete your culinary masterpiece.
