Outstanding ace for coffee, breakfast, and probably lunch too. Great little building surrounded by new development. Very cool. Had the muesli and yogurt which was very fresh and unique. Staff fun and laid back Places to eat inside and out or just on the run.

I must have been feeling adventurous the morning Bitter & Twisted appeared in my Unilocal feed. I had been looking for another promising coffee shop, and decided to throw caution to the wind and go where a complete stranger told me to. I think the name sucked me in. I love a strong, bitter coffee, and hey, you are what you eat. Or drink. Or whatever. The signs mentioned in Julia’s review are no more. B&T has moved into a shiny new sandstone refit which gives off a «modern historic» vibe. Beyond the notably absent coffee snobbery and child negative signs(something I would have thoroughly enjoyed), B&T did not disappoint. Great coffee at a reasonable $ 3. It looks like they serve a decent breakfast as well, but I couldn’t find any menus to poke through and didn’t want to deal with the expectation of ordering(or the insult of not ordering) when I just wanted to satisfy my curiosity. As an added bonus, they have some fancy space age looking lids that keep me from spilling my coffee as I walk. Much appreciated. If it wasn’t for the 62 stairs and numerous hills between Bitter & Twisted and my workplace, I’d make this spot a regular.

Looks like the boys of B&T have changed locations to a more upmarket area, and boy have they done a great job on the fit out. Looks like the crazy signs are down too :) But the coffee is still the same and tastes fantastic. Recommend you give it a go.

It is so ironic this place is called ‘Bitter & Twisted’ I can’t help but laugh. This place must be newish because when I popped in this morning for a coffee it looks as if it has changed hands. In any case I went ahead and ordered my usual ‘decaf latte with one’. As I was waiting I couldn’t help but read the signs stuck to the coffee machine. One read ‘we do not to do chai and we do not do baby chinos so please do not ask a refusal often offends’. Um, OK. The other read ‘please be mindful of your children as this is not a playground, crèche or kindergarten. OK then! Despite the scary signage the coffee here is amaze($ 3) and credit where credit is due, the staff are actually very friendly.
