For an outer suburban Sushi this is a little gem the spicy prawn rolls pack a punch like you expect with the term spicy! A great selection to choose from and very fresh and made on site! A clean vibrant establishment that has friendly staff, bottled water a little pricey but overall sushi prices were on par with others! Again quality was amazing great taste and I will be back!

We discovered this place by accident a few months ago when we were craving Japanese food, but didn’t want to go into the CBD. It is conveniently located next to the Moonee Ponds train station. We usually see the Protective Services Officers getting takeaway rolls here. Two Japanese ladies run this small restaurant with gusto and the food is solid. The place seats around 10 people, but a lot of locals order takeaway. The salmon sashimi is melt-in-your-mouth and their aburi sushi(either torched salmon or scallop) is yummy. Their hot food is great too — my wife loves their tempura soba. I love their take on agedashi tofu — it’s «soupier» than my previous experiences, but very delicious and great in the colder months. Other things we like are their tofu soba salad, teri mayo don, and karaage. We’ve never tried the takeaway rolls so can’t comment on that. All-in-all, a great local Japanese place when you want a quick simple meal. (I agree with Amita S. on those business cards!)

I’ll give this lovely little place a 4 because; — best sushi takeout in moonee ponds — hipster décor — ladies that work there are soooo friendly and enthusiastic — fantastic karrage chicken anything — cutest business cards ever Their agedashi tofu is pretty good. Order any of the don dishes and they are huge, you’ll have trouble finishing them. Despite the ladies being really nice, you can tell they struggle through peak time lunch hour, they don’t quite have that effective production line happening, but given its been opened in less than a year I’m sure they’ll get better at it! My sushi picks — karrage(fried) chicken roll, miso eggplant, spicy fresh tuna. Yum

A new sushi place hidden away from the normal MP’s hustle and bustle opposite the station. Service was relatively quick for takeaway with my order made fresh on the spot. Scallop aburi was delish, salmon & tuna nigiri was decent enough. Nothing special, but nothing to complain about. Nigiri platter was $ 15 for 5 salmon /3 tuna(was almost short changed 1 until I confirmed I should’ve had 8), and $ 10 for 4 Aburi(but they only had 3 left they could make so charged $ 7.50). It’s a really small shop, with high bench style seating for around 8 and the menu has other rice bowls and mains as well as sushi options. I really wish someone would open a sushi train in the ponds to get more choice! If I was just after nigiri /hand rolls I probably wouldn’t bother. But I might just go back for the Aburi. Fun Fact — apparently Karaage is too confusing for the locals — first time my mates went the Karaage hand rolls were labeled just that. Today they were labeled plain old fried chicken!
