Flip flops & tattoos reside comfortably with suits & ties, the handcrafted cocktails are the potion of choice & these are complemented by a quality wine, beer & cider list …

Also we have utilised our neighbourhood and have secured the services of the surrounding restaurants to bring you wood fired pizzas from «Dough» pizza and incredible Vietnamese Cuisine from our next door neighbours at «Vinh Hong» & Indian delights from «Mela» all of which can be delivered to your booth or stool at the bar…

This funky small bar is built for comfort & its high back private booths invite you to «stay awhile». This «lounge room» judges its guests on attitude not attire so while a smile is compulsory we’ll leave the fashion to you. We just want to be your favourite room in the house…

My home away from home.
What can I say? It’s been a staple of my list of drinking holes for many years. It’s intimate, it’s well set up and the team run it extremely well. One of the things you know you’ll always get with 399 is good service and quality drinks and they have provided that since the get go.
I also really like that you can order food from anywhere in vicinity and have it delivered, plus they have great nibbles, hot dogs and $ 5 Tuesday dinners.

Revisting past favourites over a period of time is always risky. The risk is removed when retuning here. Always reminds us of W’burg bars. Nothing is too much effort, including having the Manager run down Williams St to return your purse. Great atmosphere, drinks and food. Will return again more often.

I had an event here and couldn’t have been happier with the result.
If you have more than 20 guests 399 Bar let you have exclusive access to their courtyard area FREE OF CHARGE! No minimum drink or food spend! It’s as good a deal as it sounds.
The courtyard is very cute and quite generous in size, It’s also suitable in Summer or Winter as It’s fully enclosed. It had a nice feel and when I arrived it felt a little to bright so one of the staff happily dimmed the lights for me.
I ordered some platters which were about $ 30 each from memory and each platter feeds 8 people. They were pretty big and I had so much food left over!
You can also play your own tunes (this was the BIGGEST selling point for me) bring an iPod or phone and they hook it up for you, a staff member will also come and fiddle with the volume until it’s at a level you’re comfortable with.
I had a really good night and was very impressed with the space/​staff!

The best small bar in Perth! The owner and bar staff are amazing! They make the best dirty martini! They have a wide selection of great beers, small tapas or you can order food and eat there! So amazing! They even have a cute courtyard in the back!

Nice enough bar and tucked away between Asian eateries in Northbridge. 3 stars because we had a function there last week and it was so slow getting a drink — def need to increase staffing levels when functions are booked.
Drinks list is reasonable, good selection, and staff are friendly. Just need more of them.

Such a nice way to end your weeknight play date, friendly locals and bartender. Last night the bartender explained all of the ingridients that were going into my cocktail, how much and why. He was a delight. The drinks were well priced and the service a 10. Will be going back asap!!!

I love this bar. Relaxed and cool with a wonderful wine list and good music, 399 is a great, comfy place to chill with friends. The bar staff are brilliant, fun and really know their stuff. It is actually a place where you can sit at the bar, which is awesome.

I like this little bar!
They have a huge cocktail menu and will whip you up pretty much any alcoholic concoction you like. (the bloody marys and the espresso martinis are particularly good)
You can order food from a few of the neighbouring restaurants and eat it in here or they have a selection of tapas dishes.
Would recommend booking a booth as these fill up quickly. The décor isn’t the trendiest with tacky upholstering on the booths & tv screens playing deal or no deal in the afternoons but the quality of drinks & service is amazing.

Love this bar because it has such a different vibe to the other bars in the city. More of an older crowd who are in the bar to enjoy a drink, not there to get as drunk quickly and start fights. Such a great variety of drinks and all reasonably priced. Even had my 30th birthday party there!

This busy little bar does a large selection of cocktails, beer and wine at your average to maybe a bit more above average pricing.
There are about 10 or so booths inside which every time I have been, later in the night, they have been filled up so I would suggest getting in early!
There is also a front courtyard area for the over flow as the inside gets quite crowded and there is also a rear courtyard with seating which I also believe you can hire out.
The staff are friendly and the cocktails they make sure do pack a punch!

Love this small bar. Arrived at 11.30pm after Muse concert on Saturday night. My friend couldn’t think of the drink she had last time, so she showed the bartender a photo and he knew straight away what the drink was. We each had a different cocktail and they were all fantastic. The bar staff were such good fun, joking with patrons and dancing and having a good time. So many drinks to choose from, will need to get there earlier next time to try some more :)

399 bar is the olé faithful of bars for my friends and I. This is not a dig. The positives of the bar: nice comfy booths — if you can grab one, nice, laidback atmosphere, tasty snacks if needed and, most importantly wonderful cocktails. Apparently their expresso martinis are particularly great (I don’t drink coffee, so I can’t say — but when we are there I am usually the lone whisky sour in a sea of expresso martinis). The cocktails can be a bit of a double-​edged sword on a Friday or Saturday night — making the time it takes to get your drinks a bit longer then wished but things can’t be perfect. The food it serves are tapas style — so if you need to get a major meal it is probably best to pop to one of the great Korean restaurants nearby.
399 is a great bar for getting together with friends for drinks, it can be counted on for that — but other types of partying, of the dancing or entertainment variety aren’t its bag. There is always someone playing music but there is nowhere to get up and dance, even if the music has a good beat. A great place to get your beginning of the evening drinks, before heading on to dance or see bands elsewhere. They also do a mean mulled wine in the winter and sometimes have an oyster shucker!

Very nice small bar.
But there is a catch. You have to order food out, in a pizza place a few meters away that will deliver it or in the next door viet restaurant.
I ordered a pizza and it was great, but it is a little awkward to eat it from a card box on a bar table with some small dishes.
Besides that it’s a nice place with some very good liquor selection, and great beer list too.
I enjoyed it.

Grab some friends, grab a booth & a bottle of wine and chill!
This is a great lil bar to catch up with mates, they have an excellent wine selection & good nibbles too! This is a fairly low key place with interesting décor and local artists’ works (which are also available for purchase).
Mind you this place can get packed for after work drinks on a Friday so get in early or wait until the rush has died down! The best part about it is that is far enough up William St (towards the Highgate end) that you don’t have to worry about the other riff raff that Northbridge tends to attract!
I recently booked a function there, Paul the owner is a great guy to deal with and if you have a group of at least 20 you can book the courtyard out the back for free! (Which is great compared to some other places in Perth which require a minimum $ 300 – 500 spend for the evening!)
They have also just redone their food menu which tasted excellent and was very reasonably priced!
I have found myself inviting a few good mates and heading to this place on multiple occasions! If you want a night out with mates and a few quiet drinks without having to worry about the crowds this is a good place to go chill!

Being named after its address, 399 bar is very easy to find! I spent a low key New Years Eve here where I drank cocktails, bumped into old friends, made new friends, and generally had a great night. 399 has a relaxed vibe but still feels very much like a sophisticated choice in the north end of Northbridge.
The bar snacks options are great for a tapas share style nibble and the drinks are heavenly. The bar staff really know their stuff and are masters of the art of cheerful conversation. I love the large, open booths as they encourage mixing between groups of strangers and who doesn’t love a bit of stand up comedy audio in the toilets!
When I finally discovered the charming mini-​courtyard out back I thought things couldn’t get any better — until I went for brunch on a Sunday with a freshly made bloody mary!
