This family-run newsagency is a great place to browse for magazines or pick up stationery supplies. Sure, their prices are a little higher than Officeworks, but the counter service is always so polite and friendly and at least if you buy it here you won’t actually need to step into one of those warehouse stores. I’m an avid reader of music magazines, and they often forget to check behind the counter for cover CDs. Every time I’ve mentioned this to them at a later date they’ve been helpful about it and sought out the disc for me. They also have a fairly excellent range of trashy airport novels, so if you’re into that kind of thing, this is the place to get them.

Palmyra news has a really fetching selection of magazines for a newsagent within a shopping plaza. Located within Stammers Shopping Centre on Canning Highway, the complex is targeted at those who fit the ‘nuclear family unit’ description. But rather than stocking your usual Cosmopolitan, Zoo and Womens’ Weekly, Palmyra news has loads of titles to choose from. They’ve got I. D, Lula, Another Magazine, Dazed and Confused, Interview, Empire and Nylon just to list some of my favorites. However, lovers of needle craft will be impressed with their craft section, and I also noticed their extensive range of pornography titles. Have a gander when your waiting for mum to finish in Woolies!
