For quick and healthy take away the Foxes Den is a great option. There is a decent selection of salads with lots of interesting flavour combinations available, along with chicken burgers, curries etc. for something more substantial. It’s a refreshing change to standard fare found at traditional chicken shops, although I’ve found the salads are a little on the pricey side if you are feeding a family. I’m a big fan of the fresh and healthy food!

I normally don’t give out too many five star reviews but for the genre of food it blows everyone else out of the water. Really great salads, free range chicken that is savory, and tons of options and combinations. the setting is simple yet well designed. The service was excellent only to match the flavorful fresh food. Highly recommend this spot.

We were on 2 year old niece babysitting duties at the in-laws house and had to fend for ourselves for dinner over in Port Melbourne. And given that we were advised that the niece is going through an anti-food phase aside from hot chips and lollies, we thought a nice roast chicken, hot chips and some salads from Foxes Den would do just the trick. We enjoyed two different salads, one a sweet potato brown rice concoction and the other a lentil, almond and currant combo. Both were tasty. The chips were yummy. The chicken juicy and tender. And whilst not the cheapest takeaway chicken option, the quality you get is worth the extra price tag. You can tell they care about fresh produce & offering quality, healthier options for people in a rush(or on babysitting duties). Highly recommend and would love a Foxes Den closer to my place.

So as far as takeaway chicken shops go — this is on a whole different level from the old charcoal chicken shop I remember as a kid. Foxes Den is like the fancy grown ups version of a classic. You’re immediately greeted by a row of brightly coloured, fresh salads with interesting combinations for those wanting to feel virtuous. To the right, roast chickens with a choice of lemon and rosemary or Moroccan spiced. Roast vegies, fat thick-cut chips and chicken gravy are other tempting options if the salads aren’t doing it for you. They also have rolls(including gluten free) on hand with plenty of chicken roll combinations. Think I might have to try the jalapeño one at some point. Foxes Den clearly caters for people that are invested in fresh produce and healthier options than your standard fast food fare. This is a perfect grab-and-go option whether you’re feeding one or a ton.

How have I not reviewed this place before? Beautiful salads and chicken. The salads are to die for, especially the mango, kale, quinoa salad. It has just the right amount of kale-to-quinoa ratio, bright, juicy mango, and a tiny bit of kick from chili. It’s amazing. I crave it almost always. The free-range chicken is delicious and the house seasoning is only bested by the Moroccan seasoning, which is tangy and delicious. Their chips are fantastic, too. Service is always friendly and informative and the café itself is super cozy and cute. Plus, they have homemade fizzy drinks. Too cool.

‘The Foxy Den’ is our default when I don’t have time to roast a free range chicken at home. We always buy a whole chicken — though apparently this is unusual — the local bachelor pad peeps tend to buy packs and rolls. Walking by it looks slick, the interior is fun and well designed and when you step over the threshold the staff are always sweet. Both the rosemary and lemon and the Moroccan seasoned chooks are truly delicious($ 16.90). The salads come from The Leaf Store in Elwood which is kind of like a retail extension of a farmers market. Give their healthy alternative homemade fizzy drinks a go too, it’s a nice touch. I haven’t tried the sweets because the pull of Noisette patisserie over the road is like a tractor beam of French indulgence. I made a choice to eat ethically and locally a long time ago, so we avoid processed foods and supermarkets where possible. For me it’s not snobbery, it’s about my health, sustainability and being socially aware. And happily this business is aligned with those values and we love to support local businesses choosing this path.

This cute little fox is the yummiest, bestest, newest thing to happen this neck of the woods. Here in the little den, you’ll find the likes of free-range, happy & locally sourced chickens baked on site. Moist and baked to perfection. Choose Moroccan spice rubbed or rosemary & lemon basted. It’s like having Christmas lunch, every single day of the week. Numerous freshly prepared salads, I want to try them all. Plus homemade fizzy drinks & sugar-free sweet treats to seal the deal. The staff are awesome, friendly & knowledgeable… Winning. Cute little space too. Check it out. X
