Fast tasty food that’s just the ticket after a trip to the beach with the family. The hot Ogala chicken burger is my go to item. Friendly service and has a local business feel for a burger chain. I’m happy, as is the wife and kids. Mission accomplished.

Ogalo is portugese for ‘the rooster’, and so it’s not surprising that Ogalo’s serves a lot of chicken. In some ways, it is similar to Oporto’s or Nandos, although I think Ogalo’s is particularly good because it hasn’t lost its authenticity as a result of over-franchising or focusing on fast food efficiency. Their Portugese style of grilling the chicken is actually surprisingly healthy, so you can tuck in to your chicken burger guilt-free. The food isn’t fancy, but it’s wholesome and fresh, with generous bowls of crisp salad available to order with all of their dishes. I’m not trying to give the impression of Ogalo’s as a bastion of healthy eating and virtue — ultimately, you’re still eating a burger. However, compared to many fast-food outlets, Ogalo offers good quality, fresh and tasty burgers. I trust them to provide quick and satisfying meals, and for all you spice-lovers, their chilli sauce is the best and hottest I’ve found in the area.
