Seductive vocalist Sarah MaClaine along with the Melbourne well-known Quartet(from South Africa, San Fransisco, and Melbourne) performed«Fly to the Moon» by French Sinatra; «Perhaps perhaps perhaps» by Doris Day… brought me to the 70s last night. Dinner in front of the stage. I’ve found the Jazz Club I’ve always dreamed of. Check their website or Facebook to see what’s on for each night. Recommend to have dinner there first then enjoy the performances which normally starts from 9:00pm. It’s a cozy club so make sure to have your reservation beforehand to secure the seat. In Dizzy’s Jazz, romance is in the air.

Dizzy’s is a Melbourne jazz institution and I have been here a couple of times to see my friend perform with her band. The venue is not very big so bookings would be recommended. While the décor is up market, it reminds me of what I always imagined a 1920’s speak easy would look like. Which is probably intentional. The food was excellent. I had a steak and sticky date pudding for dessert. If you are a jazz fan then it is definitely worth checking out.
