I went to The Jetty for a friend’s 40th birthday, and we had a wonderful time! We had an excellent table for our group & ordered drinks and nibbles as we went. Service was great & the food was most enjoyable. I loved the crumbed olives! Very moreish indeed! I had the eye fillet steak for mains, and it was cooked beautifully! Dessert was generally pleasant as I had the chocolate dessert, although I found the side of peanut butter ice cream perhaps too rich. But overall, dinner was excellent! I would love to visit again!

Popped in this evening to avoid doing groceries and was pleasantly surprised. Food was really nice — spring rolls were delicious but unfortunately only 4 to the portion. Burger and fish & chips both went down a treat — the wombok slaw with the fish was top notch. Service was great. Our waitress was dealing with a particularly difficult guy but was still super efficient and friendly. Wine list was alright, nice selection of wines by the glass but the beer selection was lacking a bit. Overall a really lovely spot for a mid-week date night.

I’m a little disappointed with ‘the jetty’, and also the fact I have to write my first review where I wasn’t totally happy with the food. We went on Sunday night and it was relatively busy. It has a good atmosphere with being on the water overlooking the city and the dim lighting and candles on every table. We ordered the bread for a starter which was very nice and enough to share between 3−4people. For mains we ordered, the prawn risotto, the beef burger, and the 12hr slow cooked lamb, and a side salad pumpkin and rocket. The most disappointing was the risotto, it was undercooked and lacked flavour. It reminded me more of a creamy paella than a risotto, and just simply was not a nice dish. The beef burger and lamb were nice, but not exceptional or worth referring people to try those items. The service however was fairly good. We asked for suggestions which were happily given by the waiters. We ordered drinks at the start which came fairly quickly. We did order a second round, however they never came. I’m unsure if this is out of character for this restaurant, and if they were just not having a good day. As disappointing as it was, I think down the track I will try this restaurant again to give it another go, and perhaps try something else on their menu.

Event — late family dinner after commitments at Southbank. Greeting — enthusiastic, seated with menus and water quickly Ordering — left probably too long given time and children Selection — solid all the usual suspects although the division of Snacks, light dishes and mains didn’t make it clear about sizing or portions(e.g. $ 8 for a tempura prawn seemed steep but if it had been plural it might have been ok) Starters — arrived in reasonable time, crumbed olives seemed to have a dusting of crumb, fresh and light, bread very good, rice paper rolls bland and cold obviously just out of the fridge, was only when I finished did I realise it had prawns in them. Mains — fish of the day(snapper) just overcooked and strong butter taste on freeka salad again bland and lacking seasoning. Pork rib also over cooked pawpaw salad tasty, fish and chips good but the Asian slaw was best of the night even if too much onion. Rating — solid not spectacular, won’t rush back too much good competition nearby.

10 out of 10 to The Jetty for service. They squeezed my 9yo son and me into their full restaurant for two wagyu burgers and drinks before we go to watch the Wallabies. They were incredibly friendly, super fast and the burgers were superb.

They have several Asian/Asian-inspired dishes on the menu here, which led me to believe that might be an in-house specialty. Not so, it turns out, as both the Asian dishes I sampled(the rice-paper rolls and the nasi goreng) were just lacking that subtle balance between sour, sweet, and spicy that all the best Asian food has. The rice-paper rolls were promising, but undercut by a sauce that was 90% sour, 10% spicy, and 0% sweet; and the absolutely delicious-looking nasi goreng was served with an overabundance of sweet soy-sauce that overpowered the rest of the flavors in the dish. From the handful of bites that I got without the sweet soy-sauce in them I could taste that the spices used were spot on; but sadly they were mostly drowned out by the sauce. That said, the more traditional fare was excellent. My wife ordered the eye-fillet with horseradish mashed potatoes(medium-rare) and it was cooked and seasoned perfectly. And the mashed potatoes spiked with horseradish were outstanding; doubly so when combined with the meat. The dessert we shared afterwards(we opted for the chocolate pudding over the black sticky rice after the previous two Asian dishes missed the mark) was also extremely good. So the short version is, come here, avoid ordering anything that sounds remotely Asian, and you’ll get an excellent meal. Prices are fairly typical for the area, and service is reasonable enough considering that they had only two waitstaff looking after the entire place(with almost every table full).

This is a great location, overlooking the river at Southbank. I think it was because we didn’t make a booking, we were seated at this awkward side-table in the middle of nowhere. Service was disorganised. We weren’t approached for about 15 minutes. Once the server finally acknowledged us, we ordered drinks and an appetiser. Our drinks finally came, the calamari came, and was eaten, and cleared away before he came back. We finally flagged the server down again to order our mains. The food was delicious. I had pork ribs, my bf had lamb. The server did free-pour me a glass of wine I did not order. I’m not sure if we were charged for that, but I was elegantly wasted by this point! Worth a look, but make a booking!

The Jetty is exceedingly handsome. So handsome that when I first came here I felt as though any minute the walls would crumble and I would wake up in my bed. This dreamlike quality is attributed to its location in the recently redeveloped end of southbank. With an unreal view of the river and the gentle green slopes of southbank, it makes for a truly memorable dining experience. Like all new restaurants it still has the gleaming and freshly opened feel about the place, And as such I enjoyed a pretty good evening out. The light wood and minimalist décor fit in really well with the airy and relaxed ambience. The staff are exceedingly friendly and knowledgable and our food was served relatively promptly. In terms of pricing, I would not have come here if it wasn’t for a special occasion. (The miser in me finds it hard to part with $ 30 for a small portion of average tasting Barramundi.) If you are looking for dining with a view(and can afford it) I recommend checking the Jetty out.
