Had breakfast here today, vego breakfast, food came out quick eggs were well cooked, the rest of the food was pretty average not much more can be expected from food court however coffee was good. They charge a 1.65% surcharge on the the bill with no explanation. If your after a quick basic meal it was ok.

You don’t often expect to find good food in a food court. Cheap, yes, fast, sure. Sometimes even tasty. But quality? I’m not so sure it fits with the whole food court aesthetic. Having said that, Rhumba’s does a pretty decent job of breaking the mould. I eat at Rhumba’s every time I need a quick, cheap but«classy» meal to get me in the mood for going to the theatre, or the opera, or whatever else is going on that night in Melbourne’s Arts Precinct. It’s café quality food at fast food prices and they serve alcohol, so you can even get a nice glass of wine to loosen up before a show. My favourite is the Thai Chicken Rice Ball, but be sure to ask them to heat it well; hot on the outside and cold inside does not an appealing dinner make. The only thing I would suggest to the proprietors of Rhumba’s is that they get their own seating! Getting a tray full of scrumptious food to take back to one’s table amongst the slurping, greasy plebs ruins the illusion somewhat, but despite this, I still think Rhumba’s is my best best, and yours, for a cheap pre-show dinner.
