My favourite coffee shop in Subiaco. I have tried many of the cakes here and never had a bad cuppa tea or hot chocolate. I was recommended this place years ago by a friend’s father who works nearby and now knows Sonny like an old friend with how often he pops in here. Also if you see the toblerone cheesecake try it! It’s my favourite.

Just grabbed a coffee so may update later. Good coffee, friendly staff and great setting. I was looking for a proper feed so the small selection of cakes and whatnot wasn’t going to do it. Looks good for a muffin, though. :)

A great lil café in the heart of Subiaco. Good coffee with a friendly authentic european feel and a large colkection of cakes makes sonnys a frequency stop on my morning caffeine schedule.

This is my parent in-laws favourite café in Subi and they are weekly regulars. Visited today and the coffee was only average. They have a great range of cakes which are super yummy. Service is fast and friendly. Great that you can sit on the street and watch the world go by.

Sonny’s like a couple of other coffee/cake stores in Subiaco is just amazing. I have had some of my best muffin experiences in this place. For me nothing goes down better than a coffee and a muffin, preferably blueberry or apple and cinnamon, but really whatever is up for grabs. I had a delicious blueberry muffin on my last trip here, that and my latte went down so well. I have had some of the cakes there too, everything is just perfect. The prices are pretty good, its great value for money.

I think this little café on Rokeby Road is under rated. It is hard to stroll past their display cabinet, full of tasty looking cakes and sweet treats. The locals know it as a gem, and it can get busy on the weekends. The coffee here is strong and hot. The cakes are delicious, and they have such a great variety. I am yet to try them all, but plan on getting their one day soon. There is a great savoury menu with all the café favourites and some good quality italian meals. The prices here are reasonable for Subi too.

Sonnys is a solid little café on Rokeby Rd. The coffee is good, if you like is strong. They have a great selection of gourmet cakes and slices. They tempt you every single time you walk past. I can happily recommend the carrot cake, lemon meringue, baileys cheesecake or the one with lots of marshmallows on top. This place is often playing Italian music in the background. They also do savoury food, but I only know this from watching other people. Never actually tried it myself.

Oh. My. God. If you’ve ever walked down Rokeby Road and been tempted into Sonny’s by the irresistible cakes on display, you’ll know what I mean — they look unbelievably good. Cakes, pastries, muffins and tarts — they are all just so mouth-wateringly delicious-looking and beautifully crafted, adorned with decorative edible flourishes that look almost too good to eat. The portions are HUGE too. Make sure you do eat them though, because they taste as delicious as they look. The carrot cake is a special fave of mine — it’s spicy and moist, and perfectly balanced by a tasty cream cheese frosting topped with dried apricots and walnuts. For such large and delicious cakes, they’re very reasonably priced, around $ 5 – 7. The day I discovered Sonny’s cakes was a happy, happy day(but perhaps not so much for my waistline).
