I love love love this place! I say this statement for many reasons: it is in a great location, has plenty of seating both in doors and outdoors, the menu is reasonably priced and it has a delicious simple breakfast menu. It is also pet friendly. I ordered the pancakes with bananna, pecans and maple syrup. The plate was beautifully created with flowers decorating it. I was way impressed with the appearance and taste. My usual order of a flat white was also very tasty. I would recommend this café for an aesthetically appealing breakfast that’s tastes yummy! I will be back

It’s all day breakfast on the weekend ! This chic looking café is situated in a nice area on Shenton park, easy to find parking, and a beautiful courtyard to dine in to. I enjoyed my salmon and potato rosti dish. Super healthy ! Really fresh salmon and the rosti was cooked to a nice texture. The portion was a bit small, but I guess it’s because it’s gourmet and in that area, you would expect to have to pay $ 20 for the dish.

I’ve been coming here for a few years on and off. For the most part it’s a decent place with good service and food. Coffee can be quite hit and miss. I came here on Sunday afternoon for a quick bite and opted for the corn fritters, a whey drink and a latte. Coffee was ok, the whey was flavourless but the fritters were really nice. I also loved how they came out on the frying pan. The flavours and legumes worked very well with eachother. There were almonds, lentils, lemon & more. I especially loved the haloumi on top(who doesn’t love haloumi!)

I ordered what people regard locally as the infamous brioche French toast. To say the least, it was huge and sweet, truly a dessert lover’s heaven. If you’ve seen the geotagged photos of The Little Pantry on Instagram, you’ll know that people purposely head towards the café just to have the brioche French toast, and that is exactly what I did. The dish was two slabs of fluffy brioche, a layer of Nutella between the two, tangy poached rhubarb, vanilla ice-cream, salted caramel sauce and crushed pistachios. When it was placed in front of me, I was intimidated, but also pleasantly surprised to see how pretty and almost dainty looking it was. The brioche was cooked to perfection with an eggy middle but a crisp outer layer, the flavour combinations were delightful and staved my sugar cravings and the salted caramel was just cooked, so buttery and sugary, with a good kick of salt to cut through the sweetness. The tart rhubarb also helped to cut through the butter and sugar. Although I found myself struggling to finish the dish due to the sugary and buttery richness, it was still enjoyable. The price tag was extremely reasonable as well.

I had heard of this place from a friend at work so I thought I should give it a shot. I went on a late Friday morning for brunch– it’s got a small shop front so I actually missed it on the drive down. Parking was easy enough with plenty of street parks available and only a short walk if you happen to park down one of the adjacent roads. The Little Pantry has a little frontage but don’t be deceived, it’s got plenty of seating out back in the courtyard– which was a pleasant surprise given the cosiness of the inside of the café. Baristas and waitstaff were super friendly and attentive. When I went the crowd was mostly casual with a few business types meeting over coffee. Definitely a great place for a relaxing morning. I ordered the Smashed Avocado grain toast(added an egg) and Refreshing Juice– which was nothing short of, well, refreshing! I’m not certain if it was meant to be, but the toast was rock solid which made it difficult to consume, which was disappointing given the flavours of everything else. But maybe I just had a bad batch of toast. My friend ordered the Eggs«Your Way»(scrambled) and loved them! Overall a good experience. I chose to exclude the rock solid toast in choosing how to rate this review given that everything else was A-Okay! If you’re in the Subiaco area, I recommend you stop by The Little Pantry.

I had never heard of this place until work friends recommended we meet here for breakfast. This is such a little gem of a neighbourhood place. It has a charming and inviting vintage-style interior with a pretty garden out the back to dine in. The warm friendly staff immediately made us feel welcome, and quickly organised a couple of sensational lattes and fresh juice presses. I didn’t hold back and ordered the pancakes with bacon, caramelised banana and maple syrup. It was every bit as delicious and decadent as it sounds. My friends showed restraint and ordered the muesli with fruit and yoghurt and the sweet corn fritter with zucchini, quinoa salad and grilled haloumi, which she topped with bacon. All our dishes were as pretty as a picture, decorated with flowers from the garden. This is the sort of place which you wish was in your suburb, so waking up for breakfast was a delicious adventure.

Been here a few times, baked goods are fantastic and today I had the French Toast with Nutella and caramel sauce for breakfast. An amazing dish! Coffee always great.

Came here for a quick bite to eat, had a ham cheese croissant … hit the spot nicely. I was also after a juice, although they don’t make smoothies on site like a lot of cafes they did have a nice selection of juices in their fridge to choose from. Overall lovely experience, waitstaff friendly, and nice choice of places to sit, outside on the street, inside, or out the back on the veranda.

Although menu options seem pricey the servings sizes justify the price. The food is fantastic.

Just grabbed a takeaway coffee so didn’t get to check out much. Friendly staff, though, and the food at least looked good! Place looked nice and had a good ambience. Will come back to try the nosh sometime. Music(hip-hop — ugh!) was a bit loud for my liking so I’ll bring my noise-cancelling earphones with me! Coffee was excellent, too. Hope to update, soon.

Went there for lunch with my girlfriend today and I ordered a salmon pasta and an iced chocolate and she an egg and mushroom bagel and chai latte. Our drinks were not up to scratch, my iced chocolate tasted like iced milk and she said that her chai latte was just not good. My salmom pasta came out with a red sauce which I didn’t expect and unfortunately it didn’t quite work with a salmon pasta. My friend liked her bagel which was good and the only thing I liked was the décor as the staff were a bit snobby. We wanted dessert afterwards but their range was quite limited(we could only spot two dessert items on display plus Ben and Jerry’s icecream) so we went elsewhere instead…

This place is tucked away on Nicholson St, a blink & you’ll miss it kind of space. Fantastic, reasonably priced coffee, Perth priced breakfasts but they’re huge & a very cruisey, lovely vibe. I love going here & it’s definitely a place you should try to get to.

Update: They now have non-deli menu. We tried pancakes with bacon & strawberry(which was very good) and THE Israeli Shakshuka. Now about Israeli Shakshuka. I am very critical of food, and i do not get impressed with food quality too often. This Shakshuka made my day. Forget about the drab, basic, boring thing they serve as Shakshuka in Moroccan eateries. Iate every single bit of the very generous portion, asked for extra bread, and cleand my plate shamelessly. Aleks says it takes her 6 hours to mix the herbs, spices and all ingredients for it. I believe her.

Spontaneous and unplanned brunches are often the best as there is no level of expectation or excitement. If the meal successfully hits the spot, the pleasure is such a wonderful surprise that it makes the overall experience even better. Our visit to Little Pantry was one of these wonderful occasions. I have a full review including photos on my blog Chompchomp!
