Well this would have been a pleasant café to sit down for a cake because of all the beautifully packed Guylian chocolate gift boxes on shelves, but rather it turned out to be sad state of affairs service-wise. Waitresses were not attentive, we had to call them to get their attention and get some water and some service! Very saad saad place!

That was an exciting first visit. This is somewhere you’d want to take your other half for a treat. The coconut chocolate was a dream in chocolate heaven. Nice and sweet for those who are bitter ;) The fresh sliced fruit on the side was refreshing but the chocolate was the winner, it made the best fondue of all time. A bit of a wait for the beverages but worth the while. It was stunning.

Please ask if I want cream before you put it on my soy iced chocolate. The chocolate milkshake was tasty. Ceasar salad was bland and overpriced. Service was fine.

I had never seen a Guylian café before, but I love their chocolates, so I HAD to come here! It’s a very cute place with a great ambience. I wasn’t very hungry, so I just got the Guylian Belgian hot chocolate with banana and caramel crunch flavor. The presentation was great, and you even get a piece of their caramel chocolate! My hot chocolate was absolutely delicious, and it was very rich! I also had mine made with soy milk. The portion was also pretty big! I wish they had these Guylian cafes where I’m from!

Destination dessert or a chocolate fix whichever you prefer they have what you are looking for. Inside air conditioning or outside under the umbrellas. We watched as a cruise liner did its farewell from the harbour, which was impressive, but back to the desserts. Desserts arrived promptly and were devoured quickly. It a nice stop off for the dessert or a chocolate drink.

Low quality chocolate Low quality milkshake Terrible service Don’t be shocked if the waitress brings a couple of dishes to your table and asks«Which one of these did you order». I noticed it happening to another patron as well. And this place was not even crowded. There were hardly 5 tables with patrons and they couldn’t get the order right. Sigh. We ordered a milkshake with praline ice-cream. Very very mediocre. And we paid $ 11 for it… Yeeks… There are certainly better places in Sydney that offer high quality chocolate drinks. Don’t bother wasting your money and time here.

Great location, fantastic ambience and beautiful looking desserts. It’s a shame the same couldn’t be said about the flavor or taste of the desserts and coffee. The staff were terrible, unfriendly not at all helpful and borderline rude.

Awful customer service. Rude waitresses telling us that in order to eat inside we have to order at the table after we already ordered at the counter. Waitresses were laughing and telling us rudely to leave because of the $ 2 difference! Cannot believe it! It was 9:20pm on a Tuesday night and there were empty seats everywhere!

This is one of those big corporate chocolatiers that they stick in a prime location to suck in all the masses of dopes walking past. We were those dopes tonight! I had a brownie. It was hard and tasteless 3⁄10 brownie. My coconut hot chocolate was nice, but the only thing coconut about it was the toasted coconut flakes they stuck in the hot chocolate, whoop dee doo. So it kind of gluggy and awkward to drink anyways. None of my friends were impressed with their desserts. Overpriced and way underwhelmed. Desserts are about $ 16 and each hot chocolate is $ 8. Total rip off. Nothing we got was remotely special. The service was all over the place. I would never bother again.

Dessert would be a 3.5, service maybe a 2.5.(Hmm, I seem to love giving 0.5 ratings lately…) so this averages to around 3 stars, methinks. Had dinner in Darling Harbour on a Monday night. We wanted to go to another dessert place but turns out it closes by 7PM, so here we went. Now, I do love those Guylian chocolate boxes… very yummy, so we had high hopes for this place. The dessert, as I mentioned, is a 3.5. They do have desserts on the menu, but unfortunately they’d sold out except for the last 2, so instead we had to choose desserts from the display. Alrighty then. We ordered: — hot chocolate + peppermint: this was supposedly really good, wasn’t able to taste it though — éclair — this was good but just OK, maybe a 3⁄5 — I had something called the«diplomat,» maybe a 4⁄5 — and something like a chocolate brownie but with a cheesecake in it? It was maybe a 3.5 While the desserts were generally good, none of them really tasted like the Guylian chocolate seashell/seahorse thingies. Sadface. As I mentioned, service would be a 2.5. Not that they were rude or mean or anything like that, but they appeared to be severely understaffed. It was surprisingly busy for a Monday night, and they were always all busy clearing tables/taking orders/delivering drinks and desserts. It would be pretty hard to get their attention. It was seriously impossible to get water for our table, for example. Whilst making our initial order we asked for water… maybe 45 minutes later(I kid you not) after repeated requests for water and«yes, sure!» from the waiters we finally got water. One waiter even told us, «OK, but if I don’t give you water in 5 minutes just ask me again, because I’m really busy doing other things.» Ummm OK. Maybe they should have self serve water instead.

We went here on our way to IMAX. And you know, they have hot chocolate. We just –had– to stop in. The service was great, I love that they have heaters built into the ceiling outside. The only problem being that the hot chocolate was watery. What is that about? It doesn’t hold a candle to the thick delicious tastes of hot chocolate from Max Brenner for example. And this, this… it’s where it falls down. Guylian chocolates are so yummy that there is no reason why they would serve up such a lacklustre hot chocolate! Pull the finger out guys, stop making hot chocolate with hot water and start using the milk.

Me = big fan of Guylian seashell chocolates Does this mean I am also a big fan of the Guylian Chocolate Café? You would think so, but even though I ordered the most chocolatey cake I could find on the menu, it wasn’t really good at all. They seem to have a lot of desserts though so perhaps something else is better? I would stick to the seashell chocolates they are famous for. Those are just amazing with their praline filled centers, but I can get them elsewhere too.

Guylian Chocolate Café is the ultimate chocoholic’s delight! There’s just no place that delivers desserts and chocolate like they do. If you’re visiting, make sure to try their dessert selection especially the Guylian Baked Chocolate cake. It’s the café’s namesake since it aptly sums up the fine taste of chocolate in a mouthful of moist belgian chocolate frosting. With all the sinful decadence they offer, you’ll probably find a match to your sweet tooth. If you’re not a big fan of desserts then you could always try their belgian pistolets. May it be for lunch, dinner or quick desert, this café is sure to have something for you.
