Awful! Got the ‘smashed avocado’ on toast… It was plain avocado on toast… Smashed avo should come with something… Lemon, dill, dukkah, fetta, bloody something… Anything! Two pathetic pieces of toast(barely cooked)… Unimpressive to say the least. Will not be going back :(

This place is a bit of everything — coffee shop./sandwich bar by day, bar by night. The first two I can’t speak for as a) I’m the only guy in the IT industry who doesn’t drink coffee and b) I’m too cheap to buy lunch so I bring it from home. I am however someone who drinks beer so I can speak for the bar part of their business. This is a really popular after work drink location. Like all the bars round here they do a happy hour(well… happy several hours) where beers and basic wines are $ 6. The beer selection is pretty good. The wine selection is pretty good. The décor is pretty good. The only problem is the crowd. This place is always really packed. There are nice looking seats around but unless you are prepared to come down at 3 and stake some out, forget ever sitting in them. Its standing room only and the noise level means conversation is less about talking and more about shouting. Its a good spot to come after work with a group though. You can use your combined mass to shoulder your way through the crush and get to the bar. Its fun and lively. The drinks are good and well priced.

Give these kids the presidential medal of freedom, or whatever our dinky Australian equivalent is. It’s 7.30am on a Saturday morning and raining like someone up there thinks we’re Brisbane in a flood year. There’s also a line of tetchy, sketchy, crabby people out and about on this godforsaken day wanting sustenance and coffee, hot coffee, to get them through to the afternoon. And this is a weekend. Can’t imagine what weekdays are like. Well I can, I just don’t want to. The coffee is stupendous. I could barely open my eyes and my mind was a fug, but even in that state I knew good coff-coff when I Taste-d it(eh? eh?). Also, their bacon and egg rolls are just marvelous — you know when you get one greasy, filmy egg and one Lilliputian rasher of bacon in a roll that would leave a toddler hungry? These were the antithesis to that, big damper-style flour-topped rolls stuffed with at least 5 or 6 rashers of juicy bacon and fresh eggs. And there’s a deal where a cofee & B&E roll is just $ 8.00, or $ 10.00 on weekends. Is it sacrilegious to call these chaps saviours? Because they are. And I don’t care who knows it.

Disappointing. $ 15.00 for a chicken schnitzel roll over-cooked at both ends and with less ingredients on it than a one foot Subway. Very mediocre and way over-priced. The lack of patronage compared to the adjoining take away food shops should have been sufficient warning for me.

A lazy Sunday morning is all about having the perfect cup of coffee and eating French toast with bacon and maple syrup to top it all off. That’s exactly what you’ll get every time you want breakfast at Taste Baguette & Grill: fresh food, fresh coffee, and a cozy atmosphere. For lunch, you’ll be served a lovely partnership of French bread and Vietnamese cuisine, a mouth-watering combination. The grilled lemon grass chicken baguette, one of their best sellers, is sweet, sticky and oh-so-memorable and their products are all surprisingly cheap. A perfect blend of international cuisines, Taste is more than just a restaurant… it’s a lifestyle. Highly recommended!
