We are so lucky to have this as our local! Grimaldi’s is the BEST for choice of light meal of an interesting salad or entrée, or full-on lovely dinner with some incredible plate of meat/fish and inspired veg. The menu changes regularly, with amazing menu desserts or great cakes from the pastry case. Fantastic coffee. I think I’ve run out of positive descriptors. The only negative might be that the café is loud. Not a problem for patrons with good ears, but my husband has a problem with his. It NEVER deters him and he suggests Grimaldi’s as dinner venue with almost disturbing regularity. :)

A long narrow restaurant in the same building as the Trak Cinemas. It isn’t claustrophobic though owing to the long glass wall that runs along the inside stretch of the building, and there is a neatly done alfresco area out front where you can sit and sip on wine and watch the world go by. I went with some friends for dinner just before seeing a movie at the Trak. Service was great, and they helped with the menu when we told them that we had limited time by identifying the dishes that would take longer to come from the kitchen than others. This was very helpful. The food is not flashy, but good old authentic italian food which is cooked and presented with an honest integrity. I have many Italian friends, and it was just as good as the food that I have had served at their tables when invited to dinner. It was delicious, generous serves, and well cooked. I had their spaghetti with meat balls, and we shared a bottle of Rockford’s Alicante Bouchet. It was a perfect combination sitting outside during a warm evening. So if you want a wholesome meal just before the movies, with service that helps you get to the movie on time, then this is the place to come. I’d go there even if I weren’t going to the Trak.

I stopped in here for dinner only because it was close by to the cinemas I was planning to visit, and what a really nice meal it was. I had duck risotto which was beautiful(I highly recommend it), but the highlight of the meal was dessert. Jaffa chocolate mousse. If your a fan of the orange/chocolate combination then this is a must try for you. I was initially disappointed with the tiny serving, but trust me, it’s so rich you wouldn’t want much more. Great service.

This is a fantastic place. I wasn’t expecting something so delicious when I ordered a ravioli dish a couple of months ago, but I was treated to a wonderful culinary experience. And the coffee here is great! It’s not my top pick for Adelaide, but it certainly isn’t far from the top, at all. The service is brilliant. Apparently they also hold themed nights for guests to experience different cuisines. I haven’t yet attended one of these, but I’d love to. This is a place that takes good food very seriously, and it’s not outrageously expensive either. I think they could get away with charging a bit more, but I’m glad they don’t!

Stationed right next to the Trak Cinema, Grimaldi’s makes for a great place to grab a coffee or a meal before or after viewing a film. Even if you’re not there for a night at the movies, this little café really impresses. Though I’m not crazy about its location, right in front of a busy, noisy main road, the café has a spacious and comfortable outdoor area. I’ve taken a book to this place once or twice and have had a comfortable read whilst seated outside. The interior is well decorated and has warm, earthy tones to compliment the establishment’s Italian roots. The menu features many of the classic Italian pizza and pasta selections, as well as creative renditions of other popular main courses. No matter what you go with, you’re bound not to be disappointed with your choice. The staff is incredibly friendly and makes you feel very welcome from the moment you take a seat. Good food, great coffee and excellent customer service — Grimaldi’s ticks all the boxes.

I’ve had consistently good food and fairly good service at this award-winning restaurant. The coffee is also fantastic and the wine list is quite good. I like the fact the chefs constantly change the menu but usually include meals to suit most dietary requirements, although vegans may sometimes struggle, as they do in many places in Australia. BREAKFAST This place is great for breakfasts and I love the fact they use free range eggs, which always taste better than eggs produced by chickens in less ethical surrounds. The frittata I had at Grimaldi’s was particularly good. It was filled with potatoes, capsicum and greens and got my day off to the perfect start. LUNCH There are always plenty of light bites or more substantial meals to choose from at lunch-time. The pasta dishes are really nice. DINNER The dinners are quite good and included all the usual Italian favourites when I visited here with my friend, who had a perfectly cooked scotch fillet steak. I opted for a vegetable fettuccini verde with bocconcini and pesto, which was pleasant.
